I’m using a child theme with the Itek menu. The social icons do not render onscreen, one just sees little rectangles.

Have you heard of this before?

Just looking at the source code, I’m wondering if Google Analytics is messing it up, but that’s such a common plugin, it seems unlikely.

Any input would be appreciated.

I have a large block of white space between my custom header image and the rest of the front page content. I reviewed the queries about problems with white space below header image posted previously (June 2014, April 2015) and the responses.
One was to copy the header.php in to a child theme and adjust the values. Changing the ‘flex-width => true, to ‘flex-width’ => falseand ‘flex-height’ => true to ‘flex-height’ => false was also suggested. This did not work for me.
Another response explained that the “header CSS is controlled via a custom function targeting the parallax-bg ID and can be found in functions.php starting @line 345. As the code is hooked to the wp_head action means it fires after all other CSS have been loaded and therefore the custom CSS you are adding has no effect since it is loaded before the function.
In order to override it you’ll need to use a child theme, add the function to your functions.php, edit as required and then set it fire on a higher priority of say 10 or 11. So in your code the add action line would be something like add_action(‘wp_head’, ‘itek_internal_css’, 11); “
I tried this approach also, and did not achieve the desired goal of reducing white space, though I may not have coded it correctly.
Finally, a friend suggested that the excess white space might be the result of a top-margin attribute that was too big. I have tested reducing the top-margin attributes that seemed most likely with no apparent reduction of white space.
I would appreciate any insight you can provide. Thanks!

I am currently using one menu (Main) containing links to social media. Setting up custom links for social media in Appearance/Menus for social menu automatically results in display of icons for links. Setting up custom links for social media for main menu results in display of text for links. How can I change to display icons on main menu? I see in custom.css file the info used for social media, but am unsure where/how to apply to main menu. Thanks!

I I just downloaded the theme and installed on a fresh woocommerce install, but the site only shows the blog mode. I tried creating a “Shop” page, but there was no tags to use to turn it into shopper page.

How can i disable the blog mode and activate the shopping mode??

I have yet to figure out how to use the four sidebar widgets that come with the theme in conjunction with Gravity Forms that i have. Can someone walk me thru setup?

The theme version I downloaded features five stars in menu-1 which link to the various pages. I see on the iTek homepage that these stars can be changed to social media icons. What file(s) do I look for to do this?

Using this forum I was able to copy and paste a piece of code that changed my homepage banner but did NOT change the other pages. The code I used is:

I have read all the support posts related to featured images and just don’t know how to configure, adjust, change the size of the featured image. I will have people not knowledgeable to wordpress submitting featured image pictures and so I need to make this as simple as possible.

Is there a way to accomplish this with the image sizes in settings? They are currently set at: thumbnail 150×150, medium 300×300, and large 1024×1024

I have installed “my custom css” plugin to make those kinds of changes.

I am configuring the itek theme on a child theme, url:

We have installed a header image with dimensions 1600 × 380 as recommended.

As you will see, the text on the left side of image is cut off. Also, when checking on my android, the header is not responsive.

How can I change the footer color to the main navigation color. Also how can I change the current text in the footer area?

When I look in the source code I can see the parallax-bg codes, but when I try to find it in the editor, it is quite impossible for me.

I am trying to make the header image to not repeat at the left and right side.

I’m wondering how you’re able to change the text in the theme’s shopping cart.

From “0 items – kr0.00” to for example “Total: kr0.00”.

I am quite happy with this theme. There is only one little thing I cannot solve. I am trying to get the footer menu responsive. The other two menus are responsive by default, but somehow the footer menu stays as it is when I rescale the browser window. Maybe I have been missing some settings, I have tried with some plugins also, but then the footer menu doesn’t disappear when rescaling the window.

Is there any way to get the footer menu responsive within the theme without using another plugin?

Does this theme include additional login requirements? When I go to log in to WordPress, I am first prompted by a gray box to enter a given username and to solve a short math problem. Then I am directed to the usual WordPress login screen.

If this is part of the theme, is there a way to disable it?

I have looked at the other posts regarding the feature image but after trying the suggestions im still having problem with the image being stretched, even though the image i have uploaded is larger than the size of the feature image on the post.

basically, i just copied post.php file from my theme and pasted it in child theme folder. i did some changes to post.php in child theme but they are not showing on my website. why my child theme file is not parent theme file?

How do I hide the featured image which displays at the top of each post? I would still like to keep the featured image so that it displays on my front page in a list of recent posts.
