Hello,
how can I make HUM responsive for mobile devices?
On smartphones the site looks terrible. On tablet it looks better.
What can I do?
with kind regards
Ralf
It would be great if the opacity-hover effect could be disabled, or if the text color could be customized for greater contrast (esp for the wordpress.com version of the theme). As is, the grey on grey or even grey on white is barely legible on a bright LCD screen.
]]>Great theme !
Just one downside: changing the Link Color in the theme options does not apply to the Site title or the menu links in the sidebar on hover.
This makes the link color option a bit useless because it makes no sense to have links in post/page content in a different color than in the sidebar…
Hope that can be fixed ??
]]>Hi, I got this template installed here
but I can’t see the text in the main sidebar’s widget.
How can this be done?
Love your theme, thanks for doing such nice work.
I would like to use an accordion menu (preferably Nextend Accordion Menu) instead of the default mouseover.
Any way to do this?
Thanks in advance for any help. My site is

When I change the position setting to scroll, the nav does scroll, but it drops down the content below the nav.

Any ideas?

How do I make it large across the entire header?

I installed the two themes and then activated Hum but I’m getting blank pages. Can anyone help?

]]>Hi,
I am using this great theme, and I encountered an odd problem, I am trying to make a “border” between the menu (including set title), from the top of the set title to the end of my menu. I tried using the border option, but it only let me use it from the top of the page (not so good for me..) and I couldn’t manage to add an image and set it to the proper location (or add an image at all for that matter)
All I need is a simple black line ?? hope you could help me.
If you need the CSS files or something please do tell, and I would upload as quickly as possible ??
many thanks in advance!
]]>I am trying to post an image to a static page that will span the whole content area (single column content area). Any help would be awesome. Thanks!
]]>The name of my site is Three Rivers Performing Arts. The hum theme puts each word right under the previous one which makes the site title 4 lines long.
That results in the left side menu links not fitting on the page, and scrolling down is not an option. That is a fixed size.
My idea was to reduce the px size of the Site title. However, I don’t know how to do that.
Otherwise, is there another solution?
I should add that it looks great on some screens, but on small screens like a macbook or my chromebook, the menu is obscured by the dimensions of the screen.
]]>I’m trying to get a vertical line between the sidebar and the main content window in the Hum theme. Any ideas?
I’ve looked through the forum and can’t find an answer for this issue. I apologize if this is a duplicate question.
Thanks in advance for your help.
]]>I use Hum on several sites (handsontechnology.org, mrsallee.com, jonathansallee.com) and love how clean and simple it is. One problem I have had, though is that the menu drop downs do not seem to respond to the edges of the window. Consistently, when I have the window wide enough for the header to go on the right, rolling over a menu creates a drop down that goes well below the edge of the screen, inaccessible.
]]>My client for a site using your excellent Hum theme has mentioned that navigation requires two clicks. I have searched for an explanation and eventually found that iOS interprets the first click as :hover (please see great article on this).
Another iPad user tells me that this happens on many sites. I do not know if this has been addressed in later WP standard parent themes, or whether a fix in the parent or the child theme is the way to go. I am tempted to try a fix on this one site but the issue seems a wider one, and one not mentioned in the WP forums as far as I can see. Do you have any views on this, please?
]]>My custom menu and logo isn’t showing in IE8…
Is there a fix or anything?
I am baffled that wordpress doesnt support IE8…
]]>I’m trying to change the color of the links.
I can set into the template editor, but it seems it not change effectively.
Background color and others works, but the link color does not change.
]]>How can I expand the white space on which the content appears? I’ve been digging through the CSS but I can’t seem to figure it out.
Also, is there anything else I have to do once I expand the space to actually increase the content space?
(By “increase” I’m referring to the view on a 15″ MacBook Pro screen. I know the responsiveness will change this stuff on smaller devices.)
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
Loving this sleek theme. And I thought all was well until I checked my demo site in IE7. The left-hand area (with the logo and navigation) gets shunted across to the right and overlaps the content area.
I’ve totally no idea how to solve this. I’ve looked around and don’t really understand others’ IE7 fixes and therefore can’t adapt them to this. Help!
There doesn’t seem to be a way to customize the footer. Am I missing it in the settings somewhere, or do I need to do it manually in the code?
Thanks,
Brian
When I am on my homepage at https://www.hodgepodgerog.com (which is a showcase page)and then click on another page from my menu, the whole branding area shifts slightly to the right, and then when I click back to the home page, it shifts to the left.
Why is it doing this?
I want the branding area to remain totally static.
Thanks

]]>Hi,
I created a logo that is 218×294 pixels and I want it to display in the upper left hand corner where the header image is supposed to be.
When I upload the photo, it forces me to crop only a small portion of it.
I want the entire image to appear, not just a small rectangle of it.
On the hum website https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hum/ it says “You can configure a flexible-height custom header that will display in the left sidebar by going to Appearance -> Header – this feature is particularly useful for a logo or other small image:
It says I can upload a flexible-height image, so why is it not allowing me to do that?

]]>Hi,
First of all, great theme! I’m planning to use it for a personal website and encountered a problem when I was doing some cross-browser testing. It seems that internet explorer 7 is messing up the layout of the theme. Its for sure that it is an IE7 bug (one of many) and of course people using IE7 should be forced to get a new browser, but I really want to have my website to be compatible with old IE versions because according to my statistics I still have a large group of visitors using those.
The problem:
IE7 is messing up the main div’s and consequently the branding div overlaps the content div. I’ve googled to find people with similar problems but I couldn’t find the solution. Hope you guys can!

Thanks!
]]>Anyone else experiencing this? I can’t link to the issue yet because the site is still un-launched, but the issue is that on the iPhone there’s a mysterious margin on the right, but (to make it weirder) only on posts — not on pages, which render correctly. I’ve removed all my custom CSS and it still does it, so it’s something right in the base/child themes somewhere.
It’s as if one of the main, primary, or content divs, or the article element itself has right margin it shouldn’t, that’s only called on posts, never pages.
More weirdly still, the theme author’s own site does *not* behave this way on my iPhone, where posts render correctly, with no margin on the right.
]]>I can’t seem to get the widgets to appear on the homepage (which is my list of posts). I’d like to show links for recent posts and categories.
How can I do this?
Thanks!
]]>Do you have infinite scroll for this theme? I noticed that you list it on wordpress.com, but not www.remarpro.com.
Thanks.
