The plugin is recommended by the theme but cannot be installed anymore as it was removed from the WP repository. Is there any replacement for it?

Hi,
My name is Scott and I am fairly new to WordPress.
I have installed the Holiday Cottage theme but can’t seem to change the header (the cabin in the snow with the pine trees).
I go to Appearance/Header and I can select and crop another image but it does not update it?
Am I looking in the wrong place?
I tried changing the background image but that is not it.
Can someone please help me?

Which is the most suitable theme for tatilnekolay.com, a villa rental site? more readable sites or simple user-friendly themes?

I’m refitting an existing site to this theme. I set Customizing > Header Image, but the image shows up below the header (social nav, main nav), not behind it. The header image also only shows around 120px tall, but 400-500px like the demo site.

What did I do wrong? Are there any instructions for matching the demo site layout? Is the demo content required?

Blue Host updated the version of word press and today I discovered I can’t add widgets to the sidebar. I called support and they reverted back to an earlier version of word press. I’m not sure the Cottage theme is compatible with version 5.6 of WP.

So far I’m getting on fine with this Holiday Cottage Theme however I cannot seem to update the background image om the home page (from the snowy scene with the cabin in the trees). I have tried all the usual spots… NOTHING!

Help?

I’m very happy with this theme as I am using it for a homeowners association website for a senior housing cooperative. Two of the widgets I am using in the sidebar are the Post Category and the Recent Posts. After I choose a post category it produces a webpage with a list of posts under that category. It does that well. Anyway my problem is the “Read More” Button for a post does not show any text. I’m sure my background and text color are the same. I’ve hunted through the stylesheet file for changing the colors but can’t figure out where it might be. I also looked at my appearance theme colors. Hopefully someone can point in the right direction.

Hi, thank you for this great theme.
I wish to disable the Top Bar and the tagline only for the mobile view, but when I do it they disappear also in the desktop view.
Pls help!
