Hi.
I have problems with my hatch theme. When I try to make a static front page, it only shows as a small square in the corner. What to do?
Best regards, Sofie.
The preview/featured images are of a lower quality on my website (they did not used to be and might have happened either when I updated to the latest version of Hatch or the most current WordPress update). I am a visual artist, thus have an image heavy site and the lower quality is not acceptable.
I have tried everything. Please help. I am so frustrated.
Is this a hatch thing or wordpress?
(I am relatively savy but do not know code)
-regenerating thumbnails did not help
-setting gallery setting to “full resolution” did not help
-I installed a plugin to reverse the new “scaled down image” that wordpress started so now all my images are in original full resolution that I uploaded them to, but this plugin did not help with the lower quality featured image, aka thumbnails that you see on my homepage
I am running the latest version of Hatch.
Please help, thank you, Dawn
The header image is not appearing, even though I set it up correctly in the customisation options page.
The code for displaying the header image is reached only if you set your home page to display the latest posts.
I think this should be documented.
I am trying to change my header which I’ve done many times. Now I am getting a cropping error and the image doesn’t even need to be cropped.
Hi everyone,
I need to use the Eventbrite API which requires that the theme be based on Underscore.
So is Hatch based on Underscore?
Thank you!
Is there any way I can adjust the top margen on the right sidebar, https://freyachalotte.dk/blog/ so it will be showing the name of the first widget, and be level with the post.
Also how do I change the font style and color so it matches the post page, right sidebar: https://freyachalotte.dk/freyas_blog/
It seems that the font and size are not the same
In advence, thank you

Hello,
I’m running a Hatch child.
The title of my single posts doesn’t display at all. I looked in theme settings, but I haven’t found any option concerning the blog titles.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Hi, sorry if this has been asked recently.
Running the Hatch theme
I have Kadence Toolkit Version 4.2 and I no longer have Theme Options as a choice when accessing the Appearance tab.
I have upgraded to wordpress to 4.7.3
Hatch Version: 0.3.1 and my plugins are all updated.
I have activated, deactivated my plugins – no effect.
I have added define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ ); to Wp-config.php incase of a php limit.
I am at loss as to what else to try.
I appreciate any help that can be offered.
I should let you know that I am a weekend warrior when it comes to working with wordpress so my knowledge base is all but non-existent.
Cheers
Mitch
Novice alert:
A little background first..
I am trying to add the Portfolio gallery plug-in (Huge-It Designs) to my custom link home page. The Hatch static front page doesn’t allow me to a) disable posts or b) add my Portfolio gallery shortcode – this makes my custom link static front page pointless. I attempted to make an actual homepage, but my being a WP novice reveals that I cannot bend this to my will.
What is my best option to have a Home page that is static, has my Portfolio, and is linked to my domain?
thank you,
Miranda
Hi, I am using the Hatch theme and have created three new posts with a featured image, however the images are being cropped instead of showing the whole image.
You can see here how the image is being cropped: https://www.artstreamalbury.com/judy-watson-pituri-vessels/
And this is an older post where the image isn’t being cropped so this is how it should look: https://www.artstreamalbury.com/susie-losch-no-1-red-crane/
I tried changing the Medium size Maximum height to 600px under Settings/Media but that didn’t make any difference.
Can you please tell me what the issue would be?
Thanks, Carley.
Hello,
I’m having some problem with my logo header on my portfolio site: https://www.jreynette.com. I’m using Hatch as a theme but recently the logo disappeared and was replaced with a question mark. I’ve checked with a different browser and on my phone and its still not there. I’ve also tried reuploading with a new image, which hasn’t solved it. Anyone able to help?
Font family settings for the title and description using @fontface also don’t work any more in 0.3.1.
Switching back to 0.3.0 will make them work again.
Is there ANY sense in updating to hatch 0.3.1 ?
Version 0.3.0 of hatch theme processes html tags in site subtitle (it doesn’t in site title).
The new version 0.3.1 doesn’t process html tags in subtitle any more.
(I use e.g. <font …>)
Any suggestions to get both working – or at least get it back working again in subtitle?
Thanks.
My website uses the theme Hatch. When I went to activate another theme (Divi) the website crashed. (fatal error). What are some things that might have caused this and can I change them so I can change the theme?
Hi,
I am creating a new website and have installed the Hatch theme. I cannot see the header image when I upload it and customize (it is the recommended size); I cannot even see the Alien logo header image that should load as a default.
I am tried the theme on another website I have and I can get the header working find with that one. Both the same version of WP etc.
Any advice please?
Hi!
Thanks to anyone that could give me some help.
I would like to increase the sizes of the thumbnails on my frontpage to about one and a half times more than now and have them in three columns (more or less as seen here https://www.thomaspetherick.com/
Could anyone give me informations as to how to do that? It is really only about sizing and spacing.
https://www.taramabiala.com here is what it looks like now!
Many many many thanks to anyone who could help!
Hi, my website is using the Hatch theme as was recently hacked. The readme file name was changed to readme.d938ca3f950bb138d138a81c0d4f50d4.html.
So I deleted the readme file.
I updated the wordpress version and plugins just before it was hacked.
I have iThemes Security installed which didn’t seem to help.
But I’m not sure what version of Hatch I have running at the moment and I’m not sure how I found this out???
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Carley.
Hi There!
Is there a way to make the images on the home screen pop-up in a bigger size rather than directing the users to a new page with a description?
As you can see on stevelieveld.nl, If you click one of the images you go to a new page. I would like these images to open in a bigger size on the same page.
Many thanks!
I have changed my Hatch theme so that there are 3 images in a row instead of 4 but now the images are fuzzy and pixelated.
I also changed the setting in the function.php (pasted below) so the archive thumbnail is bigger but the images are still pixelated.
The image is plenty big enough as you can se when you click into the post.
Help!

/**

*/
function hatch_image_sizes() {
add_image_size( ‘archive-thumbnail’, 440, 300, true );
add_image_size( ‘single-thumbnail’, 640, 360, true );
}
I have developed a static site with Hatch to help sell my house (https://www.housesale.iwsi.ie)and I’ve made a lot of progress with help from the forum. However, I have two issues that I can’t resolve.
1) An error message on the front page – “Apologies, but no entries were found” In Settings > Reading, I have selected ‘static front page’
2) I’d love to be able to put static ‘square’ images across the bottom of the front page in line with the theme. I would be an added bonus if I could link these to pages (as opposed to blogs which I’m not using)
In anticipation ….
Hi Everyone,
I’m using Hatch theme for https://www.elizadonovanart.com and I’ve discovered a problem with the menu. The last menu entry becomes misaligned on Safari on Mac. It starts a second line regardless of zoom. Here’s a screenshot.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Hey guys,
I am having trouble removing the “Menu” text header when my site is viewed on a device.
I am a relative newbie so this could be very obvious but when in the dashboard I cannot find the option to edit that area of the site at all. Only the menu links to different pages. I am beginning to suspect I may need to create a child theme to counteract this enforced “Menu” text.
If anyone has encountered this issue I would really appreciate how you overcame it, I am really stuck. My only idea is to generate a white box in the css to hide the “Menu” text.
Thanks
I’ve trawled through all the posts on this forum, but can’t find an answer to what seems like an obvious question: how do I get my social icons (BOTH Sharing and Linking to my own FB / Twitter etc) on my home page? Here’s my site:
https://www.katecornelius.co.uk/
I don’t want them in the footer, they get lost there.
If anyone can suggest a solution that doesn’t involve a lot of coding (I can do the minimum but not much more), I’d be eternally grateful…
Many thanks,
Hatch theme home page displays rectangular landscape-oriented thumbnails of post featured images. Is there a way to change them to squares?
Hi,
I am just setting up a new wordpress site using Hatch. There is only one user, and that user’s biography has been filled in under Users -> User Biography.
However, I cannot get it to show up on the front page. The picture will show up on the right, just the text won’t.
I am running another Hatch site that I created a year ago, that does not have this problem. I have compared settings of the two sites but can’t find any differences.
Both my wordpress and Hatch versions are up to date.

Hello
Every time I try and access the images from Wp_store according to art-form I have a problem with the Archive placeholder.
I have already open a ticket with them and they state that it’s a Hatch problem how can I get around this.
I have done some digging and found that when I access the page I want I get the home page background image and see little square boxes, if I click on the boxed the image is there
it looks like the placeholder has a problem loading the imafges
any hints would be much appricated. This site is dedciated to my late son who passed last year
cheers

The site I’m working on at the moment with Hatch is alexandragrey.com. Looking to hide everything as seen here:

Just wanted to reach out and double check before I start messing with the themes code on what the best method would be for this. Should i alter the functions.php? I tried editing what I believed was the proper code in singular.php, but it didn’t make any difference on the FOS. Site is heavily cached through CloudFlare and W3, but even purging the cache and waiting didn’t allow for the changes to show so I reverted the file.
Hi, I love this theme, I’ve made a child of it and would like the images that link to posts on the home page to show their title without being hovered over.

I updated this theme then tried to do a live preview with another theme. When I came back to Hatch the page went blank and now there is
Failed to load resource : code 500 Internal Server Error
This may not be a Hatch issue. The client had a plugin that I turned off that put out a captcha error pop up. After it went blank. Any ideas?
