I’ve been using Gillian for some years, but it’s now coming up as non-maintained / may not be compatible with recent WP versions. Can anyone recomend a theme / themes which are similar ?

the option is missing. “featured image” in the plug-ins that I had to intaller.

Several related questions I’m afraid.

How can I make my display full width? I see “Full Width Template” listed in the tags in the entry for the theme in the WordPress Directory but cannot find how to apply that.

Nor can I find the “Wide” block in the Gutenburg editor.

There are several other attributes I cannot find in the blocks. Is the theme compatible with the new version of WordPress or isit still to be up[dated?.

In the Gillian theme > Theme Functions (functions.php) > #82-32, the “content_width” maximum is set at 640 (pixels wide). However, the theme 1-colum width with the default sidebar activated is actually 902 pixels wide. It took a lot of digging to figure out why headers and embedded videos, et al were shrinking to 640 pixels wide. I found the above code line and changed it from 640 to 900. It seems to work fine now. I don’t run the theme on full-width, so I don’t know how it behaves in that mode. This maximum content width needs to be addressed to fit all column options. Thanks!

I need help with removing the circled link in the screenshot I linked to. I can’t find where to do that or at least rename it to “Home” without making it look dorky on my front page. It will be very unhelpful to tell me HOW to do it if I don’t know WHERE to do it (as in, what tab and setting I need to be looking at when I customize the theme). Thanks in advance.

I would like try non-bold hyperlink text, but I don’t know how to change it. Any ideas? Thanks

Two issues here. First I’m trying to change the color of all horizontal rules across the site, but only the horizontal rule lines and nothing else. So I dropped:

hr {
color: #fff;}

Into the style.css of my child theme (which the file is confirmed to work in). Yet the rules are still grey. Any idea why this isn’t working and how I can fix it? I figured this one should be simple.

Secondly, I just want to remove the page’s title being echo’d in the page body of every single page by the Gillian template. How do I remove that?

does blockquote have not enough width？

There’s a shortcut bar that pops up over images when you click on the image to edit it. This pop-up has recently become useless as it flashes constantly and there’s no way to get it to stop. Has anyone had this happen and how do I fix it? I’m webmaster for 2 websites and both use this theme and both have this flashing issue. I would do a screenshot but it would be pointless cause you can’t capture flashing.

Can you tell me how to remove the search button. Love the template but search not needed or wanted in this particular site.

no left angle rounded on search button.

search button seems not quite align with search input bar via firefox or chrome browser in mobile.
It’s about 1px margin-bottom or padding-bottom.
Can you fix it?

I have a problems with the Header area of Gillian theme. It should be according to th them “header size of 1920 × 265” There are problems:

1. The header image can’t be resized for mobile version.
2. Header image has cropped top and right sides by some reazon.
3. How to remove the black search field from the top?

In the preview, my Custom CSS is showing properly. But after saving and publishing it is not showing.

I have just installed the Gillian theme which looks great but the sub menus don’t work on an ipad but do on the PC, any ideas how to fix this??
