I have been using Freedom for years and like it a lot.
Now I have come across two problems: For one, I updated WordPress to 6.0 and afterwards updated the Theme so its up-to-date, and now the Slider does not seem to work anymore. I did not change any of the settings, but if I click on the arrow of the slider now, the page just jumps to the top, not to the second slide. How can I fix this?
Additionally, for some months now (after I un-stickied a formerly sticky tile) the theme only shows 15 tiles in 8 rows on the front page. It used to show 16 tiles, two per row. How can I change it back, that the last row has once again two tiles, not only one?

]]>I am trying to identify the proper class or menu hierarchy in order to modify the background color on the mobile responsive menus.
The default white color works acceptably on my desktop interface but on mobile devices it is difficult to distinguish the white menu from the white background page contents. I’m comfortable adding additional css through the customize theme option but have been unable to isolate the class(es) to change the menu bar for mobile only.
I’d like to change from white #ffffff to #78a3a5. TIA for your help

you’ve helped me a lot configuring my very simple family blog and I have found a few additional tips to refine the design.
I am almost done but I’d like to simplify one more aspect. Unfortunately I cannot provide a link to the page I need help with as it’s behind login and only accessible to registered “Author”.
The last bit of simplification I am aiming for is the total removal of the Text input area for an author to give a title to his new post (class edit-post-visual-editor__post-title-wrapper).
I have found how to not display the title or the category (as I don’t have any) in post listing display page or in Archive/Category post listing display page.
I have found how to prevent Authors to add any block to their posts using “Disable Blocks” plugin
But since I expect a post to be limited to a photo with a Caption text below, I’d like to remove the “input title here” entire “block”
I have searched the web intensively and even found a feature request to make title optional but I have not found any working solution.
I have found a code snippet like: add_filter( ‘generate_show_title’, ‘__return_false’ );
but contrary to simple CSS addition I’ve used, it does not work even in a simple plugin created with Pluginception.
If it is problematic to completely remove the “title” attribute of a post because of it’s handling later on in the admin or dashboard, I would prefer it is auto-generated using something like the Author username concatenated with the creation datetime instead of offering the possibility for the Author to input anything.
Should I go all the way defining a child theme overriding post-new.php or there is a less overkill solution.

I am new both to wordpress and to freedom.
I have managed to setup my site and to customize most of the aspects I wanted to.
I want to make a very very minimalist family only photo blog. So I have chosen “image” as default article layout with one picture and it’s corresponding caption below which is meeting exactly my need.
Now I have not been able to remove the concept of “title” and worse when I am on the welcome page set as “list of previous articles” I see big blocks with the title, “published date” and category when in fact I would like to see the picture.
I could go into the templates and edit the theme to do that but before doing so I would prefer to know whether it is “configurable” within the theme first.

Hi, Currently, the home page style allows for only two columns. I want to increase that to three and reduce the thumbnail size accordingly. How can I do that? Currently, there are two css classes, one for the left column and one for the right. I’d probably need to add one for the middle. Is there any easy copy+paste code I could use? Thank you.

I think there is a problem by using the “new responsive menu” on mobile phones.
It is nearly unposible to chose a topic from a Submenu.
Tested with android an iphone
Go to https://demo.themegrill.com/freedom/
Click “Menu” (the submenu “Layout” is open) and try to reach “no-sidebar-full-width”
If you close the submenu “Layout” first and open it again – it works.

Hi – I’m trying to customize the appearance of my blog as I always have, by using the “Customize” option on the WordPress dashboard. However, any time I try and make a change – even a simple one – I get an error message. I tried making changes using Customize in both Chrome and Safari and got the exact same message. The link I’ve shared shows a screenshot of the message.

could you advise what php version that FreedomVersion: 1.1.7 is designed for?
I am attempting to set the sites php version to higher than 5.6 and when i do so i end up with a blank screen. No errors just no visible content.
Trying to isolate where the issue is as when i go to any version of php 7 i get the above.
when i go back to 5.6 the site is visible.
latest version of WordPress 5.3 installed, all plugins are current.

Hi, I’d like to have the Main section a bit larger than it is by default. I tried to change the css like this

but it doesn’t work well (not the whole part changes, it’s never centered etc).
I cannot find how to edit in the Customizer neither. Can you please assist? Otherwise I’d need to change theme which is pity ((

On my webpage (german) there are many articles. When I use the archive for example for September there are to many articles to put it on one page. But the second page is only reachable by clicking zurück which means back.
Is there a way to change this word? It’s just the wrong translation. People won’t get that.

I’ve managed to change the majority of the text on my site to font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif using the Custom CSS editor, but in several of the right sidebar widgets the original font is still showing up (I think it’s called “vollkorn”). Specifically it’s within the “Subscribe,” “Search” and “Archives” widgets in the forms/buttons/drop downs. It’s also partially within the footer menu – the links have changed, but the other text has not. I would like all the text to be the same and I’ve tried a bunch of different things in the Custom CSS editor, but nothing has worked as of yet.

However a heads up…
The Google font being used for the headers, Fira Sans, does not seem to render at all on Google Chrome version 37 running on Windows 7. Other Google fonts do load fine.
I discovered this via your theme and investigating why my headers don’t render. My workplace uses Chrome 37 on 10,000’s of machines. In the end I’m glad it’s just an isolated font issue and not something broader.
