First, Write and Graphy, by Takao Utsumi, all have beautiful typography. They are visually simple and elegant while offering generous customisation flexibility. I am a happy amateur and non-developer, but these themes and their clean code have inspired me to attempt to learn basic customisation. The theme designer is always courteous and helpful in his responses on Twitter and here in the forum, which really helps.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Utsumi’s (Takao’s) themes to beginners and experienced coders alike.

I’ve been using this theme for over a year now and have been very pleased with it. As advertised, it’s ‘simple yet flexible’, and fit for purpose, with plenty of elegant and functional design options, enabling, more or less, unique customization without extra coding or plug-ins.
I did have a small issue with my centred navigation menu being a little off-centre but was able to correct this with help from the author in the support forum.
My thanks to the author then for this simple user-friendly but versatile theme. I recommend it. It is, as stated, a great theme for blogging, for beginners to pro bloggers.

This theme is like stealthy ninja. Minimal, no shiny armor and big talks at the first sight. But very powerful and skillful when you know what to look for. It reminds me good old Twenty Ten theme but with much cleaner design, code… everything. Fast, simple, responsive, versatile, easy to modify. Plus no bootstrap or other big frameworks.
Many (but not too much) options in customiser for beginners. And even more possibilities for coders and experienced users. I′ve made 3 totally different websites for my friends based on this theme (with pagespeed score around 95%). And I love it.

This theme is much better than expected in my taste.
Not too showy at first sight, minimal & also flexible design.
No theme option page-with many functions, but it has all essentials in customizer.
(In a way it’s better than my other paid themes.)
BTW I agree to bullets problem…on tablet & mobile view…please fix soon!

I like this theme because ii is not too simple and also not too loud. But on Safari on my iPhone, bullets are not aligned with text items in Custom Menu widgets.
