I’ve been using Fanwood for a few months now. It’s beautiful, and so far, easy to use. There are a couple of things I want to change but will probably find out how to do so in the forum related to this theme. This isn’t a prolific review, but the bottom line is – it works, it’s compatible w/a lot of useful plugins, and worth using.

I’m pretty impressed that this is a free theme. The style is great, and there are about a billion widget and menu areas. It also has several page templates for different column layouts, which is much appreciated. Doesn’t look too bad out of the box for bbPress either.
My only criticism would be that there should be a graphic in the FAQ to highlight which widget/menu areas end up where in the design. It took a little trial and error.
All-in-all, a great look with more than enough options to keep the tinkerer inside you busy on the quest for perfection.

Lots of cool features, but it’s missing one of the most important: changing the color scheme. Black on yellow might look good on some personal blogs, but it’s not for all.

Though advertised as a mobile-friendly theme, it was impossible to set menus or widgets. I’m sure it’s fine on full-sized screens, but my project is to set up a mobile version of a site and I wasted a good chunk of time.
