I have the Pro version but support just ended in October so I thought I’d post here to see if this issue can be resolved.

I had the Give donations plugin all year in the Home Corner Widget that worked great but I didn’t renew it because the cost was excessive for the number of donations I receive.

So I uninstalled the widget but then noticed that one of the widgets in the Home corner now overlaps one of the posts on the front page and I’m not sure why.

I went back and placed a standard PayPal donations button and for some reason, it’s massive or overblown within the container. This makes no sense.

I’m not sure why uninstalling the previous widget by Give has suddenly caused these issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, there’s bug with the header and Costumizer -> Additionnal CSS

I create custom style from Additionnal CSS and it do not appear on theme pages. I didn’t not check if the problem i on others page like archive.

I am making a child theme based on your lovely theme, and there seems to be an issue with the initial positioning of the home-widgets.
The issue is not just with my child-theme, but happens also if I choose destin as theme.
It also happens on your own demo…

It happens for me in firefox and safari for mac, haven’t tested it with other browsers or platforms yet.
Once you resize your window they flow to the corret spot, but when you initially open the page the sticky container is about 18px too far to the left. And depending on the size, it may cover the top part of the div below it.
Like I said:esizing helps, but reloading will result in it being at the wrong spot again.
The site still functions, but it would be much nicer if this slight displacement wouldn’t happen.

I can’t post a link, since I am working locally, but like I said: it happens at your demo as well!

I hope it can be fixed.

I installed destin basic on a wp site of my localhost to test it.
It looks really a lovely theme and i’m considering the chance to buy a pro version.
however i’ve a couple of troubles:
1. the mainmenu does not works well. i cannot access the second level of the menu. So if i’ve a menu such this:

ITEM 1
ITEM 2
Item 2.1
Item 2.2
ITEM 3

I cannot access Item 2.x because the dropdown menu does not appear.

2. The theme allow to customize sidebar on each page, and menu or category entry. That’s great but a standard sidebar (which runs if there is not a customized) could be usefull.

I have downloaded your lovely theme to use on a project. I will be making a child theme and was going to do some changes in the css. Then I noticed some sass files, I never used sass before, but really wanted to give it a try (because it really makes sense to me), but I noticed the sass files weren’t workable because it could not load a lot of the imported files/partials.

So my guess is you did not include the sass files for us to work with. But I was wondering why they were included at all if not of use? Or can I use them, and do I just need to download some extra stuff somewhere else?

Let me know if I am too forward on asking this, I’ll back off ??

I am hoping someone can help me with the following…

On the homepage of my library’s blog (archiveblog.jfklibrary.org) I would like to change the caption sliders for each image from the current ones (excerpt and “continue reading”) to just one slider that shows the date of each post.

I believe the relevant code is found on the functions.php page within the <figcaption> tags, however I dare not change the coding there!

Can someone tell me how to make this particular change?

I’m new to wordpress and just installed it, Destin Basic and jetpack (working in dev mode) on my home website. I can’t seem to get shortcodes to work though, as posted on your shortcodes website (https://demos.bavotasan.com/destin/shortcodes/), I added this to my post

It just displays the info as text though. Do I need to install anything else or maybe I’m doing it wrong?

Im using the child templates to make the category pages look the same as the main page. But it only shows 6 posts (catergory pages, not main) after 6 its showing the posts the same as the basic templates overlapping each other.

Were can i adjust the max posts in child template or is this a bug?

i’ve got buddypress 2.6.1.1 installed, with auto-refresh enabled.
i think after 15 seconds (it syncs with heartbeat afaik) of inserting a new comment i should be giving a notice to refresh the stream (“load newest”), but it does not happen.

on the buddypress forums there are mentions that this may be due to a missing AJAX call on the theme. i’m still googling the issue, and so far i haven’t been able to find a fix.

do you happen to know if this may be related to your theme, or direct me on something to check, or even better have a fix for it?

Submenus appear to perform differently on my site for index pages and content pages. In short, I cannot get submenus to dropdown on content pages. On the mobile site, using submenus completely breaks the menu on content pages.

Do you have a suggestion or a workaround? If I knew what the plugs/packages the menus for your theme are built with, I could look deeper.

Alternately, do you know of a plugin that works well with your theme that can give me mobile-ready submenus?

Related questions:

1. Is there a non-linked parent placeholder that allows the submenu to dropdown?
2. Is there an option for dropdown submenus when hovering over the parent of a submenu?

I’d like to add a featured post to the Masonry homepage layout on the Destin theme.

It seems that Masonry positions posts with JavaScript after the full page load.

Is there a way to create featured posts that would be larger when repositioned?

On top of this, a sticky post feature would be nice to move some posts to the top.

is there any hope for those who do not want to use Jetpack’s Infinite Scrolling to have such effect working on destin-basic homepage?

i’ve tried 3 plugins already (the most downloaded ones), but the homepage “masonry” effect fails miserably.

the only one that seems to work is a fork from Jetpack’s IS, but has no admin interface for any customisation (like “load more” button) and picks the no-image thumbnail from the parent theme.

could you be so kind to help us out?

This is part of a MultiSite install. The site is a subsite dedicated to bbPress. I’ve had this theme for months, I do not know what changed.
I do not know when this occurred. I have not been working on the site, except to add a post on 23 March.

When logged out, only the header and dark background is visible. No posts, widgets, etc.

Recently, I upgraded the theme from version 1.0.2 to version 1.0.3.
Translation files have been deleted from the theme.
I brought them back from the backup, and they did not work.
I tried to put them in child-theme and also in folder “/ wp-content / languages / themes” and it still does not work.
Maybe you have changed anything in the settings?

I’ve got an upgrade notification that tells me i can upgrade my theme from version 1.0.1 to version 1.0.1.
Of course when i accept to upgrade, it upgrades for nothing.
After telling me i have the latest version the upgrade notification re appears as soon as i refresh the page.

I don’t see the option in Live Preview, but Live Preview has it’s limitations without actually saving changes to live and being able to dig into other menus.

Hi there, I have an issue with my mobile website. When my shop items are displayed vertically on my cell phone the ‘add to cart’ buttons overlap each other. If I rotate my cell screen to horizontal, everything looks proper. How can I resolve this issue? HELP PLEASE.

I loved this template and selected it because it says it is designed for desktop browsers, tablets and handheld devices.

However, everyone who has tried to access by phone cannot do so or is only get 1/2 of a page. I had to completely remove WooCommerce because anyone who even tried to use the shopping cart could not do so on their phone.

Do you have any suggestions on setting or something I am missing to make this template phone friendly?

the links on the homepage are not going full width of the page as seen on the screenshot for this demo, do the feature images have to be a certain size
also if you put widgets in on the empty area its too wide so pushes the feature images out of shape

I would like my Featured image to line up with the text from each blog post. Right now, it is more to center and right. I would like it to line up left. However, there does not seem to be an option of left, right or center. How can I get the featured image to line up left?
