I use the courage theme without any modifications, I only use some “official” plugins either from ThemeZee or from www.remarpro.com. My homepage is an non-profit, simple information page. Everything works well but now my website provider urges me to upgrade to PHP 8.0.
Is there any risk to do this? Is there anyone who uses the good old courage theme AND PHP 8.0?

I am using a child of version 1.5.7 with WordPress 5.9.3. The child contains only adjustments and own CSS (It was a test for me for working with child themes years ago).
When I upgrade PHP from 7.4 to 8.0, I get the “White Page”, even if I deactivate all plugins.
It seems, Courage is not compatible to PHP 8.

Hello,
Sorry for my bad english (I’m french).
I use Courage theme (free version) since 2015 in my webzine site : https://www.rythmes-croises.org/
I wonder if I could install a few themes and allow the visitor to choose between these themes?
Or do I have to chance all settings before I want to change the theme of the site?
When I try to previsualize a different theme, the header image is staying after the menu and I can’t take it off. There is no image in the header image place of the theme previsualisation.
I use the events calendar but in some themes the characters are much bigger in the side bar. How to change the characters size for 1 blog?
Is it the same with the Pro version for all these questions?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
I hope someone here can help me. I have been trying to add 4 additional sidebars to the Courage theme to fill them with widgets, as this theme by default comes with only two sidebars for the magazine homepage and the right sidebar. I found a tutorial here and made changes to my child theme folder as follows:
functions.php:
register_sidebar (array ()
‘name’ => ‘Footer Sidebar 1’,
‘id’ => ‘footer-sidebar-1’,
‘description’ => ‘Appearance in the footer area’,
‘before_widget’ => ‘<aside id = “% 1 $ s” class = “widget% 2 $ s”>’,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</ aside>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘
’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</ h3>’,
));
register_sidebar (array ()
‘name’ => ‘Footer Sidebar 2’,
‘id’ => ‘footer-sidebar-2’,
‘description’ => ‘Appearance in the footer area’,
‘before_widget’ => ‘<aside id = “% 1 $ s” class = “widget% 2 $ s”>’,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</ aside>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘
’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</ h3>’,
));
register_sidebar (array ()
‘name’ => ‘Footer Sidebar 3’,
‘id’ => ‘footer-sidebar-3’,
‘description’ => ‘Appearance in the footer area’,
‘before_widget’ => ‘<aside id = “% 1 $ s” class = “widget% 2 $ s”>’,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</ aside>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘
’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</ h3>’,
));
register_sidebar (array ()
‘name’ => ‘Footer Sidebar 4’,
‘id’ => ‘footer-sidebar-4’,
‘description’ => ‘Appearance in the footer area’,
‘before_widget’ => ‘<aside id = “% 1 $ s” class = “widget% 2 $ s”>’,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</ aside>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘
’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</ h3>’,
));
footer.php:

<? Php
if (is_active_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-1’)) {
dynamic_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-1’);
}
?>
</ Div>

<? Php
if (is_active_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-2’)) {
dynamic_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-2’);
}
?>
</ Div>

<? Php
if (is_active_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-3’)) {
dynamic_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-3’);
}
?>
</ Div>

<? Php
if (is_active_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-4’)) {
dynamic_sidebar ( ‘footer-sidebar-4’);
}
?>
</ Div>
</ Div>
I have not made any changes to the “style.css” because the default values ??should already be given. Basically it works already and I see the new sidebars under “Design> Widgets” and fill them with widgets. I’ve tested each with a calendar and a search box widget, but it breaks me the whole footer as everything is stretched to 100% of the screen. Maybe someone could help me and look at it.

Hello,
i use the theme courage. On the web page i have a section sidebar on the left. On the printout ist the sidebar at the right page side. What is wrong?

I love Courage style. But, in posts and pages, I would prefer to have bullets in UL lists to be outside (left indented). Actually they are inside the paragraph. I created a child style almost empty (nothing related to UL or LI). What could I add to m child theme to change this setting?
Hi!
I want to activate the “Featured Post Slider” in the Courage-Theme. I want to activate it under Appearance → Customize → Theme Options → Post Slider as described in the documentation. I use the German Version (Design → Anpassen → Theme Optionen → Beitrags-Slider). There is no Point “Design → Anpassen → Theme Optionen → Beitrags-Slider”. The Version of Courage is 1.4.2. WordPress Version 4.2.3. How can i enable “Featured Post Slider”?
Maybe somebody has modified the installt version of the theme.

I am using the free version of Courage (as a child theme for customization). The theme displays fine on computers and tablets, but handheld devices display the Default page with a sidebar in two, stacked narrow strips of text. Is the free version of Courage “less than responsive” on handheld devices, or is this a limitation of the theme?
Thanks,

Creating and activating a child theme with Courage seems to break my custom navigation menu. Even if I don’t make any changes to the bare-bones child theme, the menu breaks. I’ve tried creating the child theme myself, using two different child-theme creation plugins, and uploading the blank child theme provided on the ThemeZee website for the courage theme. All of them break my menu. I’ve tried going into the menu are on my dashboard and saving the settings, but that didn’t help either. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
I have courage theme. I would like to see default pages (category pages) in 2 columns with category contents + Side bar by default.
Example:
width:%30 %35 %35
Side Bar Category Name
Category Post-1 Category Post-2
Category Post-3 Category Post-4
Category Post-5 Category Post-6
How Can I con it?
Help!
My site essentially disappeared after I updated the theme (Courage) from 1.2.6. to 1.2.7. Any suggestions?
I have backed up regularly with BackupBuddy. Would it be OK to try to reload from a back-up file? Or, do you know if by updating WordPress to 4.5.2 I will get my website back? (tomfuszard.com)
Thanks.

I want to use a custom menu in the sidebar. How do I remove the menu that appears in Main Navigation?
I run a couple of websites and have always used YOAST SEO successfully. I am in no way a professional webmaster, so please talk to me slowly. I have a new website I started with a couple of friends and I’m not sure if someone added a plugin that might be preventing Yoast from working or if perhaps it is the theme itself. I’m using courage. I am mostly interested in Facebook shares where I can control the post information. For some reason, it keeps showing the same picture oer and over (the main image) and just grabs the first few words from the page.
IS there a way to add other information to the slider? I use the Time.ly event calendar, and would like to be able to tag some events to show up in the slider. Is this something that’s possible in the pro version? I’m planing on purchasing the pro license when I get my taxes back.

The footer navigation menu is broken as of 1.06.
Due to refactoring done in navigation.js between 1.05 or 1.06, it no longer contains any call to slideToggle() or equivalent for relevant footer stuff (e.g. the footernav-icon).
Any users relying on a drop-down/animated footer menu in their use of this theme should avoid 1.06 till the problem is fixed.

Hi!
I’m a bit frustrated and flustered. Have been working on blog and just cannot locate what I’m doing wrong or omitting. The website and page are as follows:
https://www.elderangellopez.com/this-weeks-best/
I’ve set this up as a Magazine-type page. The name of the theme is COURAGE and it’s supposed to allow for a magazine page with a nice slider. I got so frustrated that I’ve downloaded a plugin called HugeIT or something like that; it’s showing UNDER where the slider should be.
How do I fix this? I’m not very adept at all, so please give clear instructions. (I’m happy to remove the HugeIt slider if the original one works…)
If you see anything else that needs attention, please let me know.
Thanks again! (Sure do appreciate you guys!)
How do I get my default header image to be displayed in the post slider of the magazine frontpage?
Right now I don’t see anything, because the tagged posts don’t have images attached.
And I want to prevent having to add the same image to each of these posts.
