You web site has been afflicted with the White Screen of Death

I’m switching a site from a (IMHO) very ugly theme to counterpoint. Not all of the pages and posts have nice-looking images – which is fine – the more informational sections of the site don’t need them – they exist so people can download documents and such thing.

Unfortunately the former webmaster used rather ugly buttons to link to documents, and these are being pulled up as the page’s featured image. You get a blowunup blue or orange square with a few pixelated letters in the middle. It is gogin to take me some time to get rid of all of those buttons. I only want to display a featured image if I set one. I’m sure it is a useful feature for some folks, but It would be nice if this were a selectable option.

I haven’t delved into the code yet to see how easy it may be to turn this off. Perhaps someone can save me the trouble and tell me.

I used CSS do disable the big black “no featured image” where these is none – thanks for giving that a class and making it easy.

PS: – it is a really nice looking theme. I like the sidebar functionality.

If I nest a page under a page, I can’t use the menu link to the parent page – it just displays an X to the left and the dropdown appears, but I can only go to the child pages.

I realize that some people may create an empty page to act as a container or title, but I don’t think that’s typical.

Steps to reproduce:
Go to media library
Select an image
From the “Attachment Details popup, select the “View Attachment Image” link

Result: Get the following error (your path may vary)

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/content/33/10100133/html/wp-content/themes/counterpoint/attachment.php on line 26

I really like the overall look of this theme – but noticing a few little bugs.

Hi,
I am trying to add a few styles into style.css, but they don’t appear to be working. This suggests to me that style.css is not loading properly… I believe I am correct in saying that I should not have to separately enqueue style.css, right? Can you offer me any insight as to why simple style changes might not be showing up? Is there anything special I need to be doing?

Is there a way to stop the article bottom widget from disappearing when a page is displayed on a screen size with less than 900px horizontally?

Great theme, simplistic elegant design that I like and was considering using, until I saw the bottom.

All previous sidebar widget were scattered like fruit salad.

Any possibility of getting more sidebars coded into the theme and perhaps a logo uploader?
