Links to my pages are showing on the top of the theme. I can’t find where to turn those off. I only want the pages in the side-bar not on the top of the entire WordPress installation.

I don’t see where, in customization, how to remove the links to the pages. Please let me know how to remove those from the top of the blog.

I’ve added a category description, but it doesn’t show (see link). I understand that the reason is that some themes don’t show this text.

Is there a way to make it appear?

If not, are there any plans to show category descriptions in the future?

I see that there is a Custom CSS area in the theme, but wondered if there is any way to inject a link into the head of the page to an external CSS file. I’d like to be able to switch between a few different sets of custom CSS, rather than changing all the entries in the Custom CSS area every time.

While the Custom CSS is placed inside the head, it is also inside a style block. So, I’m looking for a way to inject a link tag into the head, just after the Custom CSS style block, before the closing of the head.

With ColorSkin activated, when I try to W3 validate the site’s home page https://blog.bytellect.com/ , I get three errors:

The method of page validation was to visit https://validator.w3.org/ , enter https://blog.bytellect.com/ , and click the Check button.

I am trying to create a Child theme, however it doesn’t appear to be working properly and doesn’t show any of the CSS.

I have tried to configure the style.css page based upon the documentation on

I’m having trouble getting the site icon (favicon) to appear in the browser tabs only on IE 11 and Microsoft Edge. The icon appears correctly in the browser tabs of other browsers.

I have tried removing and re-adding the site icon (a 512×512 PNG image), and have tried clearing all browser caches, etc. to force a reload. But I can’t get the site icon to appear on the browser tabs of these two Microsoft browsers.

The only things I can think of are (1) the two generated link tags in the head section are both rel=”icon” (shouldn’t one of them be rel=”shortcut icon”?) and (2) there is no type attribute in the two generated link tags (shouldn’t they be type=”image/x-icon”?).

What I currently see in the page head section is (part of URL removed):

<link rel="icon" href="https://blog.../cropped-Logo-006-512x512-4-192x192.png" sizes="192x192" />

I’m very new to WordPress, and am not a favicon expert. I’m just looking at the generated HTML source, and comparing it with a non-WordPress site I have that does display the favicon properly in the browser tabs of all browsers, including the Microsoft browsers. For example, on my non-WordPress home page, I have (part of URL removed):

which works in all browsers.

When Customize | General Colors | General Color Skin is set to Gold, the “Reply” button text in a blog post page is visible. But when the color is set to Blue, Green, or Red, the “Reply” button text is not visible. In the sample page link, I have set the general color skin in the theme to Blue, and you can see that the “Reply” buttons on each post and comment don’t show any text…just a blue button with no text on it.

I have tried viewing the page in Chrome, IE 11, Firefox, with the same results.

I would like to use Blue instead of Gold, so I attempted to work around the issue by adding CSS to color the text in .comment-reply-link, but doing this had no effect.

Is there something I can do in Customize | Additional CSS that would cause the button text to show up when the general color skin is set to Blue? Or is there something in the theme itself that I can adjust to work around this issue?

I like your theme very much. I am new to WordPress, so please forgive me if I don’t use the correct terminology yet.

I switched to the latest version of the color skin theme. I noticed right away that the white header on top covered both the title of my first post and the search box on the right side and part of the Email Me Box. Gone is the nice slim brown header I used to have. Also, on top above the link to the two pages is a three bar icon that does nothing. Can you help me fix this?
