Ich bin hell begeistert. Endlich ein Theme das alles mitbringt was man für die Anf?nge braucht. Bei diesem Theme w?re ich dann auch bereit für einen Support zu zahlen oder nach einer l?ngeren Testphase (“im Rahmen” ;-))

Childishly Simple is really easy to use and highly customizable theme for WordPress. (Well it’s hard to say this is just a theme. It’s like a theme creator.) The best point is you can say this one is mine when you look at your homepage. Many thanks to Alchemweb!

This is about the best theme available if you are a beginner. I was about to give up on WordPress when I discovered Childishly simple. I dont understand why there are not other similar themes. This is one of my sites North London Handymen

I was a beginner, and Childishly Simple worked great and taught me a lot. Version 1.015 had everything I needed, and I chose it after playing around with several other themes. I did try to give Alchemweb credit on my home page but it did not show up, possibly because I was using a static page.

I had been searching everywhere for a theme whereby I could create a site with
1. 3 Columns
2. Must be able to incorporate a header image of my choice
3.Preferable a template in which I could vary the width if required.
4. Wanted to be able to fine tune the colour scheme
Would supprt a boot strap slider
5.Could change headers as a a random slider if required

As a complete WP newbie, who only started with it 2 days ago, I felt that I was working in a total fog and trying to pick up pins with mittens on – until I found Childishly Simple!

It does just what it says on the tin…it enables you to create exactly what you want just by picking from lists and clicking buttons. Perfect! I do want to get to grips with the more advanced editing when I can but I need to get my new site up ASAP and I agree with the author – “get the site up and working and fiddle with it later”.

Many thanks for making a theme that I can actually and easily get to look like MY website and not someone elses!!

While I don’t find the default look of this theme to be attractive, the many easy to use settings available will allow you to make just about any look you desire. When I had a need for something beyond the normal theme capability the author got back to me very quickly with an easy to change fix.

The theme is great but there’s an issue that is keeping my customer, a non-profit, from using it.

At the bottom of every page, there’s a section delimited in code by the <div id=”respond”>. The text is “Leave a Reply” and it has name, email etc and a submit button. I have spent a long time looking for the option to turn this off and I cannot find it.

How can I turn this off?

This theme passed the tests with Theme-Checker and only one small W3C validation error. It is nice to see someone that designs their themes to work and pass testing as well.

Just been playing around with this theme for about an hour now and it’s darn impressive.

Simple, but with lots of options – sounds like an oxymoron, I know. But everything is well laid out and explained.

I usually get a theme and then have to dig into the css (at least)code and make changes. With this, I think pretty much everything need is right on the options page and is easy to adjust/test from there.

To the author: very nicely done! I like the way you thought through the details.

One thing – “To upload the image that goes across the top of your website go to Appearance / Header in the left sidebar on this page”

I don’t have an “Appearance / Header” link on the left sidebar of that page. I don’t see that on any of my wp installs. So got no header at the moment,
