I installed the Canuk theme, at the beginning it was fine, but now the header slider no longer shows the images (1100 × 733 pixels).
How can I intervene? What do you recommend me to do?

I am using the Canuck theme and WooCommerce Events Manager plugin, there is a display issue with the theme that the events manager developer says is due to how the header file has been implemented.

They had initially implemented a fix, but this has now failed with an update from side or the other – im not sure who.

In a support ticket their response was:

Canuck Theme theme has problem, they did not follow theme standard rules. thats why it had problem. we have edited in our plugin to adjust your need. hope you will purchase pro version and use best event features. Header file is missing.

Not looking to get into blame game, but just looking for a way to resolve this permanently. Any advice you can offer would be much appreciated.

If you look at the URL attached vs any other page you’ll see the header / menu issue i’m having.

Thanks for a great and really customizable theme, really enjoying working with it so far!
My client doesn’t like how links are handled on the feature images on the front page, so i’ve disabled a few bits – but they want to be able to link to the posts the feature images are coming from.

Could you point me in the direction of what would need amending in order to achieve this?
I imagine it’ll be an amendment to the HomePage template php file, which i’ll embed in a child-theme?

Any direction or advice would be greatly appreciated!

For some reason I can’t change the tile of the ‘Canuck Recent Posts Widget’ to anything such as Latest News or Recent News etc.. even though there is a ‘title’ box there. Whatever I type in here is just shows as ‘Recent Posts’ on the website.

Any ideas please.?

The fourth service box is displaying the image twice. I added this section to a test site and it worked fine but not in the live site. Both are running Canuck theme version 1.1.1.

I use a background image in that section and the parallax effect. Unfortunately the image doesn’t fill the whole section. The lower 1/4 of the section just shows the background until I finish scrolling down. Just then the section is filled with the background image.

I tried to change the dimensions of the overlay by setting the padding to other values than 75px, but that doesn’t help.

The problem shows up in chrome and opera browsers. And as most of the visitors use chrome I’d like to have a solution…

Is it possible to change the contact icon (envelope) to text and make the phone number clickable? Also, I’d like to change the hover color in the navigation, which is a bright green. Where would I make that change?

maybe I’m just dumb but is there a way to translate the sections Main Home Page?
See, my problem is that my home page is mainly in German but now it should get an English translation and all the buttons set on the Main Page should lead to the English translation as German ones lead to the German version. But I do not found a possibility to translate the content, buttons etc. of the sections.

By the way, I’m using the Polylang plug-in for the translations.

the theme is awesome, just love how many things you can adjust.

Just having one little problem with the Read more button on the Blog page. Want to change the text in German language but can’t find how to do that. Also want to change the hover color when the pointer is on it. Want to change it from the hover light blue to white and the font colour to dark blue. Tried many things with CSS but nothing’s working.

Is there a possibilty to change it in the customizer or via a CSS code?

I love the configurability but I’m trying to get four widgets horizontally on the home page. I see i can setup four service boxes across but need to do the same thing with a single widget in each service box (in terms of positioning on the screen).
Any ideas how I can do that?
What other info do I need to provide?

I have a 1&1 Managed WordPress site with a static homepage. I want to add content overlaying the header image so that visitors see that content immediately when they enter my site without scrolling down or following a link to another page. How do I best do this without involving CSS, HTML, or any other codes meant for Klingons to read? I want to place a combination of both plain text and linked text.

Having troubles creating a transparent logo for both the light and dark backgrounds. Can you provide details on making the gif? Or png?

Perhaps even have a link to your logos so i can see what they are or how to replicate them?

My issue is when i save my logo as a transparent image, it shows up with a black background. And is not transparent with the page. How can i create the two logos to work with the theme? Thank you for any insight.

I have a 1&1 website with Managed WP and using Canuck theme. A Canuck tutorial advised me to install the plugin FORCE REGENERATE THUMBNAILS. I have installed that plugin, When I activate it I get a message telling me to turn on the Super Cache. When I try to do that I get the following error message:

Was hoping for guidance on setting up a Classic 4 column layout for the home page. I have been through all of your tutorials but cannot find the option to do this in the customize theme areas.

I love the 3 column Portfolio layout with the excerpts and read more, but would like it to be the 4 columns with the excerpts and read more buttons. Is this possible, and if so where do I set up either option. The 4 column, or the 3 column with the excerpts.

I cannot find if there is the way to change a slideshow widget to a different plugin (to keep it a slideshow, not a header img). When I tried to upload the img 1500-2000 width it keeps cutting the quality to 1100×367 size. On the big screen it looks bad with such a low size (it does look ok on the smaller screens). I deactivated all the plugins that might resize or optimize images but a slider still resizes it and I cannot find where I can add a shortcode or change a widget. I could take off slider and background img and use a shortcode in section one homepage but I totally don’t have enough of the Text/Shortcode/Widget boxes there…
Please let me know if there is the way to make this situation better.

Having issues with setting up the small image carousel. I thought it allowed unlimited images, but I have 40, and it seems to only load the first 20. It appears this is equal to a single page of posts. Was this intentional? Is there a way around it? I can’t link to the website as I am currently building it offline, but, an answer would be tremendously helpful. Using the carousel to display vendor logos, and half of them’d be pretty mad if there were cut out.

Next question: I managed to change the direction of the main menu, i.e. the child menus open to the right not to the left. Putting this code into the style.css of the child theme did the job:

#main-menu-right ul ul li:hover > ul {
    width: 260px;
    margin-left: 260px;
}

But….now the mobile menu shifts all child items to the right.

Is it possible to let the child menu item open to the right, without affecting the mobile menu?

As the title says I would appreciate to have the possibility to display titles above the service box sections.

I have a problem with the page templates. I’ve set them all to fullwidth in the wordpress customizer, but the right sidebar still appears. I could solve the problem, if I set template for each page to “fullwidth” by hand, but the error would still be there.

I love the theme. But I have problems changing the font color of the menu. Want to change the standard color of #474747 into #0101DF for example.

I’ve written in the Additional CSS
.header-wide-no-feature .header-logo-menu-strip nav {
color: #0101DF;}

#main-menu-right ul ul li {
color: ##0101DF;}

It’s not working.
Perhaps I’ve made a mistake or maybe there is no way to change it at all in the Additional CSS. Would be thankful for your help.

Hi. I’ve added the Portfolio (section 9) to my homepage. The hover effect for the images has the link to the image file, but not to the post and I can’t see how to activate it. Could you give me a pointer?

I can’t seem to get a large header image to show up on my pages. I’m currently developing on a local server, so I can’t link to the page yet.

Currently, when I set a header image under Appearance > Customize > Header Image, nothing shows up. When I set an image under Appearance > Customize > Background Image, I get a very thin strip of the image at the top of the page, right under the menu, but that’s it.

Any help?
