]]>I built a website years ago using the Starkers theme. I am currently trying to rebuild it using BlankSlate. The problem I am having is that @font-face will only work if I apply it to the parent theme. It won’t work at all if I only add it to the child theme, even with the exact same setup, structure and code. Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I notice the use of templates doesn’t necessarily align with WordPress’ suggested files-and-folder structure guidelines.
Namely, the storage of template include files in dedicated directories.
The separation of include parts from the theme’s single top level is useful. It is a nice idea to use the top level only for standard template-hierarchy pieces – not for entry-content.php etc.
Whilst this is not mandated, WP says its Twenty* themes show “best” file structure.
Would it be useful for you to follow this?

I’m working on a child theme based on BlankSlate where I’m deferring jQuery and jQuery-dependent scripts to the footer. Problem is that when I do this I get the dreaded “jQuery is not defined” error due to the fact that the blankslate_footer function is loaded via add_action earlier than jQuery.
Wondering if in a future release it would be possible to add a priority to line 32 of functions.php in the current release to ensure it wouldn’t load as early. My modification that worked — simply adding a higher number to lower priority — looked like this:
add_action( 'wp_footer', 'blankslate_footer', 30 );

]]>Does the BlankSlate theme support the next/previous option for pages displaying a listing of posts such as Blog? I thought it would be default and my attempts to implement it haven’t worked so far. Any pointers would be much appreciated!
]]>This just happened about 2-3 weeks ago. The dropdown menu does not stay open long enough to select an item (you have to be really quick to get your cursor on a menu item). Also, the submenus are now opening on top of the regular menu, instead of popping out. I have BlankSlate as the theme (not sure if an update may have caused this). I have tried adding z-index at 100 in the additional CSS area, but that does not work.
]]>The latest Blank Slate release made WooCommerce related data disappear from product pages. For example the description and Add To Cart buttons were not even rendered at all. I rolled it back to a previous version of Blank Slate and everything works as normal. Thanks for any insight that you can offer, I don’t want to have to skip future security updates!

When I try to add a new post, it all appears as a white screen, therefore, I cannot edit the page/post.
Troubleshoot done:
– I have disabled the plug-ins but it still doesn’t work.
– Cleared cache, still doesn’t work.
– Lastly, I switched to the default theme twenty. And it is now working. So the problem is the Blank Slate theme I suppose.
Can you please help with what I can do to fix this?

Many of our users do not understand that they should click on the + to see the menu (also they may not know what menu means in this context). I wish to change the word Menu+ to something like ‘Click here to see options’ but cannot find where to do this.

A duplicate content is shown in posts,
The function the_content () is duplicated in the file “entry-content.php”.
I think that the old code of the previous versions has not been removed correctly.

I do not know what is wrong, only that the website look like there not is any tempalte.
Sad, but it looks like the temples on the temple pictures for BlankSlate, there again not is has the right look more.

Hi, I’m really happy with the blank slate plugin! It got rid of everything I wanted it to. My only request is that it displays the page name still. I tried to go in and edit the CSS so it would do so, but I just can’t get it right. Any advice on how to edit the CSS so it displays JUST the PAGE title would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
