Hello. My PHP code snippets added using WP Code Snippets don’t seem to running with this theme. They run with other themes. Does anyone know of any related issues?
]]>I have a, currenrly archived, blog I created using the Adventure Journal theme in 2013. The blog is no longer active, but I want to keep it available as an archival source.
When the blog was active, users could post comments to the articles. However, with the current WordPress version I use (version 6.0.2), I noticed that the comments themselves are no longer displayed. Under each article, it is indicated how many comments are given to the article, but the list remains empty.
What I did see in the generated HTML is the following:

</div>To me this indicates, that the comments themselves are somehow seen, but the actual comments cannot be shown (there are 6 comments in this example, and there are also 6 HTML-comments in the ordered list).
Any idea how to fix this (on my own machine)?
]]>I worked over the functions.php file to eliminate most of the errors. I still get one, but it’s not one that prevents the theme from loading under WP 4+. (The big problem is the amount of deprecated language in the original code. I’ve updated that, but there’s a call it’s still not making correctly. I plan to work that out as soon as I have the time to get back to it.) Is it permissible to share the nearly fixed file under GPL 2.0? The theme still looks great and there isn’t anything I’ve seen like it.

]]>Hello. I’m having a problem with the main menus’s sub-menu dropdown link hover. The sub-menu links disappearing before I can click on them. It’s like I hover over the main section, the subs show up, I move down to click on them, and they disappear. I’m not sure of the CSS to fix the hover time to make them stay longer. Not even sure what that is called. Can anyone help please? I’m not a programmer, mostly a designer, so I really appreciate your patience and help.

After updating to version 4.0, the theme does not work properly.
The blog page isn’t correct, showing the titles and the description in transparency over the background image. With Firefox the site is no longer accessible.
I’ve understand that theme development ha been abandoned.
Any idea to an equivalent theme to switch to?

The first part is wrong as “sour” is not a French word and should be spelled “sous”. And the second one appears in English. Can something be done? Thanks!

]]>I wonder if anyone can help me. I have used Adventure Journal as the basis for an old business website, which was temporarily hosted on a subdomain of another (completely unrelated) business website, giving it a rather clunky URL. I recently bought a new domain name and built a duplicate site. The old site has quite a decent Google ranking, which I don’t want to lose, so I thought I would do a 301 redirect, nominating the identical pages on the new site as canonical. I thought I would be able to simply download a plug-in and have that do the dirty work for me. However, it appears that the original site was built using some sort of cut-down version of WordPress with the result that the folders on the server are read-only. So I can neither update WordPress, nor access the full library of plug-ins.
The html code for the redirect is easy to understand,

Since I can’t alter the code for the (4) individual pages, could I simply enter 4 html link tags into the header.php file? Would the search engines pick it up or do I need to write a snazzy bit of php to automatically insert the URLs for the individual pages into the redirect code?

]]>How do I control the line spacing when I enter text? Adventure Journal automatically inserts a blank line when I hit return, which I don’t want. This happens whether I type directly into the edit screen or cut and past from Word. I can’t see buttons anywhere for changing line spacing or font. When I first created this site months ago, I think I found a solution, but can’t remember it. Please help!

]]>I have pages with galleries in them. The gallery setting ‘Link To’ is set to ‘Attachment Page’. Works great except that when an image is clicked in the gallery and the attachment page displays, the header image on the attachment page has shifted to the right.
I have been through the Forums but have not found this issue. Suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

]]>I’m trying to switch my self-hosted wordpress site to the Adventure Journal theme. I tested it first on an old wordpress.com site to see how I liked it, and it gave me the option to customize (buy a $30 upgrade package with custom fonts, colors, and CSS options). When I tried installing the theme on my self-hosted site, I am not given that same option to buy the customize package. Is this option available for this theme on a self-hosted site?
