This embedder has always worked extremely well for me over many versions of wordpress. Just a little shortcode and this bad boy embeds videos much more reliably than default. If you are looking for a simple, consistent solution for embedding YouTube videos under any browsing condition, do not let the poor reviews fool you, just see how many downloads it has.
It would be nice if the video could play in browser, but honestly it is an expectation at this point for mobile to open videos in YouTube.

Never had a problem with this plugin. Works great and even though it hasn’t been updated in ages I always use it. Lots of great options. By far, my fav. youtube embedder plugin.

This YT shortcode plugin works everywhere! Widgets, loops, profiles, and anyplace I’ve tried so far using the php code.
While this is true it keeps forwarding Ipad users to YT to watch the video. That sucks.
