Hi,
I recently noticed an issue with the URL structure of my products on my WooCommerce site. Specifically, each product has two versions of URLs, illustrated as follows:
What alerted me was the Google Search Console, indicating thousands of pages with the “Duplicate without user-selected canonical” issue. Upon checking these URLs, I noticed that the canonical tag always points to the URL combining the main category and sub-category.
I am concerned about the SEO implications of this situation and want to ensure my site is correctly indexed by search engines.
Knowing that I use WooCommerce + Yoast SEO, could you guide me towards a solution to address this URL discrepancy while retaining only the category + subcategory permalink ?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards, Mighty
Hi Folks,
Ahrefs.com reports that there are 3XX redirects in the sitemap.
In our linked sitemap, the post URLs do not have a trailing slash.
Shouldn’t they?
Thanks,
Steve
In
Search Appearance > Taxonomies > Category URLs.
I selected remove from Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL.
But it doesn’t strip the base category for my cpt.
I would like to get rid of the base category:
https://www.projit.it/e-learning/corsi/categorie-corsi/privacy/
becomes:
https://www.projit.it/e-learning/corsi/privacy/
“categorie-corsi” is the base category slug for my cpt (“corsi”) and “privacy” is one category term.
Hi Yoastians,
I recently posted in the Hestia theme support forum about the following problem:
I have a small hierarchy of categories on my blog, with a top-level category “sleep-apnea” which has sub-categories “cpap” and “vivos”. Some posts are in both the “cpap” and “vivos” category, and others are in all 3.
When the category archives for “vivos” is displayed, I’m noticing that the category displayed for each post is not always the primary category. You can see this in my vivos category archive, where the first four posts in the archives are in primary category “vivos” but Hestia displays “cpap” instead; they are in the “cpap” category too because the posts also discuss that topic, but that’s not their primary category and I would prefer Hestia to display the primary category.
I’ve since realised that the ability to select a primary category is a feature added by Yoast SEO. Is this something that could be fixed within Yoast SEO without modifying the theme, or should selecting a primary category be made a WordPress core feature?
Thanks,
Graham
I have noticed that I have been indexed all the images on my website https://seguratis.com/ please what should I do, i dont want it?
The latest version of the popular Yoast SEO 5.4.2 plugin released on September 21, seems to be giving a strange problem, that even its developers do not know how to explain or why it happens.
The fact is that in some cases, you update the plugin to this latest version and it disappears from the list of plugins, as well as its interface, if you search for it, you can not find it.
My webpage is https://altamiraweb.net
Is it possible for Yoast to skip setting the title (i.e.,
xxxx
) for certain pages? I have a custom table (i.e., NOT a custom post type) from which data is drawn to create certain pages. The plugin (EME) that does this normally assigns the
tag value. However, this is overwritten incorrectly by Yoast. So I would like to avoid that.
I have a problem with the meta titles on this website [ Redundant like redacted ], I do not take out the ones I put in yoast, can it be yoast or template problem? Do you know how I can solve this problem? So far what I’ve done is deactivate yoast and put another plugin.

Thanks
