Hello and thank you for this plugin. It works great.
But I may suggest that supporting fallback to HTML5 embed could be included for youtube ? When browsing on Chrome or Firefox for android on JellyBean, flash is not supported and we get the message about downloading flash plugin.
Can something be done about it in future versions ?
Thank you very much.
]]>Ok, your plugin is working great. It’s the only one that I have found that does what I need it to do. But I need it to do a little more. Is there any way to add variables to the SWF? I am embedding a SWF file and need to have the wmode as transparent and the alignment to be left. Please help!
]]>I was wondering if there is a reason why XVE has not been implemented to work for a post excerpt. It would only involve adding this line to the index.php file in the plugin:
add_filter(‘the_excerpt’, array(‘XVE_Embed’, ‘filter’), 1);
Any chance you could add this functionality in the next release?
]]>Any idea if XVE defers JS loading to the footer? I’m sifting through my plugins to squeeze as much site loading performance as I can and substituting plugins with “fast browsing” versions.
By the way, some commentary on the plugin: this is really a great plugin to simplify media embeds. Thanks, SaltwaterC! For veteran WP admins: this is the completely reworked and refactored successor to ye olde XHTML Video Embed plugin. It is especially helpful that all various embedded video formats have been simplified with a unified pair of [video]
tags, instead of having to remember all different format tags, like [youtube]
, [swf]
etc. and it’s very nimble on its feet. I love its simplicity and reliability. If I may make a suggestion I’d ask for a simple button in the post/page editor to insert the tags, for those of us who forget where to find what (cough)
Hi there, I have no idea what code to put on my site to reference a youtube video and when I click on settings for your plugin, I get access denied for some reason. I am hosting my own version of wordpress, if that makes a difference. I am currently using wordpress version 3.1.2
I’d be very grateful for any help
Many thanks
