Hi, I am using your plugin XT Event Widget for Social Events

My Facebook app is authorised and the plugin is on my wordpress site. I am using the shortcode below on a page. I am using thrive themes (thrive architect) to create the page. Can you help me find out why the events are not displayed?

Will you be updating this plugin to support WordPress v6+?

Hello,

I used the short code shared in the plug in settings and the Facebook events are not showing up.

I clicked “going” on them to be sure they are displayed, but still nothing.
They should show next to the IG Grid at the end of the page.

Thank you @xylus for the nice widget, works mostly fine for me, but not all events in my group page are displayed: seems like those that I did not personally create do not show.

How can I get *all* events in my FB group, including those other groups admin added from other hosts:

Hi – My client has cancelled an event on their Facebook business – this is not being reflected on their website. Is there an “automated” way to update events on a site?

Hi – I had 3 events in my sidebar – all looked fine. As soon as the 4 event was added, a scroll bar appeared – only in the widget area.

Please advise as how to remove this.

Am trying to use this plugin and ive followed all the steps for setting up with facebook developer but getting

“URL Blocked: This redirect failed because the redirect URI is not whitelisted in the app’s Client OAuth Settings. Make sure Client and Web OAuth Login are on and add all your app domains as Valid OAuth Redirect URIs.”

If I try to set the Widget Settings and Type in my Facebook-ID, in the head of the Widget you can read: Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Bitte lade die Seite neu und versuche es nochmal.

when I autorize my FB account, I am only asked for “add posts and comments in groups” and not as You show in the tutorial “… would like to show a lsit of pages …”

And in the Facebook Events Widget I get “No Events are found”. APP ID and APP SECRET are entered correctly.

I tried deleting the plugin but the data of the authorized user remains.

is the Recurring event event problem going to be fixed i want to buy this but if its not being fixed then i wont because i need it to support it . after all its not the XT Event Widget for Social Events excluding Recurring events plugin is it?
if it does not support all events why are you selling it.
sorry if i sound a bit off, i spent a whole day adding this to 2 sites to find out it does not work

I’m facing two issues.

1 ) “Facebook Events” widget is not working. It is not pulling events from facebook anymore. I’m getting this “No Events are found.” But actually there are events on the facebook page. If we select the other widget “Facebook page events widget” it is showing me the events.

This is simply no longer pulling through new events – I have cleared the cache a million times and nothing.

This is very bad for my business PLEASE HELP.

Is there a way to show the year with the view? I have been able to edit code to show it and figured out all the class stuff, but I cant figure out the class for “event_date” or how to populate it.

I am trying to setup this plugin with zero luck. I have created a Facebook application by following the setup instructions here:

i tried 3 times now to make a FB app according to your documentation but i always get the same error message when i got to authorize in the plugin setup page. Any idea what i am doing wrong?

This is the error message:
Invalid Scopes: groups_access_member_info, user_events. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions

The plugin is showing only 3 page events rest other page events it is not showing.

I had been using this plugin with the following shortcode:

[wpfb_events page_id=”pageid” new_window=”1″ col=”3″ max_events=”3″]

My understanding is that, with Facebook’s changes, I can no longer use this version of shortcode and must use [fb_event_widget page_url=”https://www.facebook.com/page/”%5D instead. Is this correct?

If so, is there a way to create a column layout with this new shortcode as I had been using with the previous code?

I got it to display my page events, but the following is weird:

1. Not ordering it chronologically. First one displayed is in May 2019. Then it displays the series for next week in correct order.

2. For some reason, the first date is the series is duplicated (10/22)

When I say series, I created a multi-day event in FB to start 10/22 and end 10/26. Start time is 12:00 AM and end time is 11:59 PM.

Also hoping we get the full control of the widget back; FB’s view is UGLY! I liked the ability to make tiles much batter!

This plugin is working great but it does a lot of connection to various FB site which have quite some impact on the page full load time.

Isn’t there a way to optimize this behavior? local js hosting? Caching?

as the regular shortcode still is not working, i changed my shortcode as proposed to embed the events widget:

[fb_event_widget page_url="https://www.facebook.com/MeatshopTattoo/" width="720" height="540" hide_cover="true" hide_cta="true" small_header="true"]

the custom values for width and height apply if i enter them for the Facebook Page Events Widget and drop it into a sidebar.
they show no effect though, when entered in the shortcode on a page: data-width and iframe width are set to “340”, data-height and iframe height are “500”.

Issue with Facebook Events only!
Facebook has restricted access of Events in API from 4th April due to recent Privacy issue. Here is Facebook post about same. They have new policy & rules to get Event data,

We are working with updated process and making our plugin compatible to it. Once plugin is updated we will come up with updated plugin

Hi.
I have a multisite, but i cant get the events on it.
1) I tested the facebook id on a single site and that works.
2) So it has to be the facebook app. I tried with the subdomain as app domain, and the normal domain that is setted in domainmapping. In both cases i cant get it to work.

Question is for me:
What domain is used by the plugin to make the facebook call?
The networkdomainname or the domainmap domain?

Any other suggetions are also welcome.

I have followed the instructions for setting up and have had the plugin working fine. It currently works here: https://www.dearnevalleydivers.org.uk/events/

The plugin is no longer showing events on the barnsleybsacdivers.co.uk website. When I attempt to reset the App ID and App secret, I get “Something went wrong! please try again.”

I have seen earlier posts on recurring events and have removed those from my Facebook page. I have also created a brand new FB App following the plugin instructions.

Any clues?
