Give us an option NOT to export any extra content other than actual nav menu items.
Some of us don’t need the pages/posts related to these menu items, especially if the whole menu is “custom links” which don’t even have any items tied to them.
]]>Hi,
Can this export and import ONLY the menu items NOT actual pages or posts?
This says you have to be sure there is not existing pages or posts etc but that is not what we want https://rankmath.com/blog/import-export-wordpress-menu/
We do not want to touch or export or add pages or posts or content of any kind with importing the menus only.
We just only want to export MENUS ONLY and there structure and import the MENUS to the new site. The pages and posts and all content will be already in place.
Can this plugin do that an how?
If not, could you recommend other methods to do this?
??

]]>There were no instructions on how to use this plugin.
Going to Tools > Export, there is no “Menus” option to select.
Help appreciated.
]]>I was very careful to only select the radio button for “navigation menu items” before hitting export. However, the export included everything, notably Pages. Any idea how this could happen?
]]>I had trouble finding the option after installing the plugin (under tools > export). I see other people here in support also saying it took them time to find the option.
Would it be possible to add that step to the installation instructions, or the description, or somewhere else in the plugin details?
Would save future users of the excellent plugin some time.

]]>Hi
I have problem last time to export and import. I did research and debug, and find that with no reason I had 60 000 duplicates in post_meta.
I removed all duplicates, doing fresh export and in XML I see many time the same duplicated postmeta, example from exported XML (after clear duplications on database):

@nicolaskulka, I have a menu named “2019 – Main” that I wish to Export, in order to have it be the menu on: dev.gosquires.org — also, it sounds like the pages associated with those menu items also would transfer… but hopefully not all pages that are not in active use.
I don’t see within the settings how that can be accomplished. Do you have any further insights beyond the brief Description on how that might happen? Thanks in advance for your assistance — the plugin sounds like what I need… I just can’t envision how it will turn out without further info.

]]>I need this plugin to import menus from a staging site to the live site. My only concern is that this plugin creates pages. I have 96 pages and the XML export is 27000 lines of code containing all the page data. I only need the menu data and am concerned on what the page data will do to my live site content. I have some questions:
– If the pages already exist will an import create new/duplicate pages?
– If the pages already exist will an import overwrite any existing pages?
– Is there a way to switch off page creation? I see in a previous query to this you say ‘I advise you to make the corrections directly in the xml file generated by the export’, however in my case it will be far far quicker to manually recreate two complex menus than edit a 27000 lines of code.
Please advise. Thank you!
]]>We do a lot of menu creation, and it becomes a pain. We use HTML in our menus for Megamenus. when we import, it strips the HTML.
Any way to work this in…maybe an option?
]]>I tried your plugin to transfer the menu structure from an old site to a new one. Reason was to link from the new site to the old site. The old menu had many and many of links. On the new site I have only a few necessary pages and want to link to the old page for the rest of the links.
When exporting and then importing I got all menues, but unfortunatelly it also imports the pages meta and destroys existing pages. Is it possible only import the menu structur (which has afterwards converted to URL links)?
I was able to easily export the menus. (after I found the option in Tools -> Export)
…but, on the other end, is there a method of easily importing those menus that I just exported?
