This plugin has not been updated in a significant amount of time. A theme that I installed for a client had this plugin built into it. When the theme was installed and activated on a clean WordPress 6.6.1 setup the menus of WordPress because unresponsive for me, and it seemed to be related to this plugin. Because as soon as it was disabled the issues with the site stopped.
Your milage may vary if you try this plugin with the latest versions of WP.

Looks good, but I was hoping for a solution that allowed visitors (the public) to write product reviews, not just the site owner.

I searched for a while to find a plugin that would allow me to have a separate section for reviews so I could reserve my posts section for blog articles only. This does the job nicely. I was able to point this plugins reviews archive page directly to my existing reviews page and then start adding reviews. The widgets are handy as well, I am able to put them in the side bar of other pages to advertise the reviews section. I would describe this plugin as simple and easy to set up. I had a couple of questions for the developers, they responded almost instantly and have resolved them for me and have been very helpful.

Good documentation and very simple to install and use at your site. It gives you the possibility to add something special in a very easy way on your website.

Jeroen is incredibly fast at responding to any queries and resolve any technical issues. The attributes section allows you to display any custom fields which can incorporate HTML.
