Hi all,
I just installed WordPress 3.3.1, Gallery2 2.3.1, and WPG2 3.0.7 – and now I don’t know what to do! I’ve found that the documentation available is pretty thin. Nothing is maintained on the Gallery2 site anymore since Gallery3 has been released.
Can anyone help me with some very basic stuff like:
How do I add a gallery to a post, and have it display as a lightbox? Currently, the only thing I can achieve is to add a gallery in a new post, and – no matter what options I check within the Gallery pop-up – clicking on the image in the published post always brings me to the gallery in Gallery2. How do I more seamlessly integrate the images with WordPress? Do I need additional WordPress plugins/modules to display the images?
My very end goal is to have some public galleries set up on my site for all the world to see, then create user/group-specific galleries that are only available to r4egistered users. Ironically, integrating my WordPress and Gallery2 users was a snap.
Thanks in advance for any help – forum replies, external links. Anything is better than what I’ve come up with so far!

]]>Hello! I’m using WP 3.3.1 and the WPG2 plugin and all seems to be working pretty good. I’m using a Gallery2 theme that seems to work best when inserting it into WP but am having one small problem.
Here is the way the Gallery looks directly…

And here it is embedded into WP…

The one problem I’m having is that it is taking the album titles and putting them on the BOTTOM instead of to the right. I’ve tried widening it greatly but that doesn’t seem to do anything. It does make the gallery wider but the titles still stay on the bottom.
There is one place in the WPG2 plugin that allows you to put in custom CSS. I really haven’t changed anything here except the width and am not sure where the behavior of the gallery is being changed?
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get my album titles to the right of the thumbs instead of below? The way it is now it is confusing because the title is so far below the thumb that it looks lke the title is for the album below it. Thanks!!!
]]>it seems that in the latest version of wordpress (3.3), the wpg2 button which was previously showing when you added or edited a post, has been removed.
this is therefore not saying that the plugin is broken, but that the latest version has changed the way that it handles media files.

by changing from html edit to visual edit mode, the g2 button is still showing, therefore enabling it to function as previous.
a trick for newbies!

New to WP and trying to set up for a friend. Everything seems to work but some weird problem on what looks like a re-direct. This is strange since I have disabled re-directs both within Gallery 2 and within my WP configuration options. I have even stripped out everything but the lone call to invoke PHP5 instead of PHP4 in my .htaccess file. It is now a one liner with no re-direct code at all.
I have all the latest versions of all software installed, including that for the 2011 theme. Here is the example, just click on “What’s Next” (within the theme setup, this menu item is set up as a “page” just like the one to the left of it, “Published Travel Narrative”. Check the problem here (takes you to Gallery2 instead of the page noted withing the theme):

I don’t get the “magic” that happens when the link appears and it switches to Gallery when you click “What’s Next”. Can anyone help? Thanks!
]]>I think this plugin is not supported anymore.. When you check the “screenshots” the links go to an empty website with just sponsored listings.
]]>I migrated my regular WP 3.0.1 to a network and WPG2 plugin (which was working fine up ’til then) started giving errors all over WP site (Gallery site still ran fine).
Errors seemed to be related to users and mapping them between WPG2 and the networked users in WP 3.0.1.
Development on Gallery2 seems to have been drowned out by WPG3 / Gallery3 advances. I’ll probably have to upgrade to resolve …
]]>There is a lot of demand for a wpg3 Plugin, but I couldn’t find a project which is developing it yet. Are there some?
I would love to put some energy into plugin development if I find at least 2 more people working seriously with me.
The WPG3 Plugin should be backward compatible enabling all the WPG2 users to update their sites without need to change the old tags in WordPress pages and posts.
]]>This plugin will get the picture into the blog, but specifying an image size other then 150 (default) no longer works. Plugin developers seem to have moved on based on the updates on their own websites (over a year ago). Questions on forums going unanswered.
