I’m making a website for a bakery shop. For the catalog I’m using the normal blog posts.
I’m using categories for the different types (sweets, cakes, etc) and I’m using tags to further specify them (Normal, Vegan, Gluten free etc).
I want to add an “Available today” category (or tag).
And i need a manager who gives me the option to mark all products (posts) which are for sale on the day and bulk add them into the category (without removing it from their current category). And than I need either a quick button to remove all posts from “Available today” or the option to schedule the removal at the end of the work day.
When I was testing this few months ago I found such a plug-in. But cuz I’m very smart I did not write down its name and now I can’t find it ??

When I create a user account for a developer and assign an admin role, then he becomes the main admin and can delete accounts and my account become a user account with admin role. How can I fix that? I want to make sure, I’m the main admin and after I can delete their account when it’s no longer needed.

I’m getting an error from Ahrefs that I have multiple meta titles & descriptions on a lot of pages.

I use Yoast SEO for my meta titles and descriptions.

Last week I agreed to the suggestion from WP backend to update to latest version (6.?.?)
Update got stuck in the middle with a browser error “Cannot access this page”
Went to frontend and found “maintenance” warning. I removed the .maintenance file via FTP and I was able to see my frontpage

But /wp-admin/ doesn’t work anymore. Initially with a “critical error” and now after I manually reinstalled /wp-admin/ and /includes/ folder I get 502 Bad Gateway

How can I get access to WP_ADMIN? Can I just overwrite my wp folder with the content of the wordpress.zip file or does an update also involver database changes?

I tried to enable debug by adding the corresponding definitions under wp-config.php but 1) I didn’t find the original declaration of debug=false in this file as all webpages note 2) I didn’t see any debug messages neither on screen or on content/debug.php file

Im stuck and I truly need to gain access to admin…

Any idea will be welcome!

I logged today into my website and the system suggested an update. I’ve been updating all my other WP sites recently with no problem but in this case I clicked update and after some seconds it came back with a “cannot load page” error (I didn’t interrupt it)

After this, frontend would still load 100% ok but backend was “Critital error”

I disabled all plugins and this had no effect. Then I realized that the issue was only affecting backend so I disabled the admin/includes plugins (by renaming folder). This cause the backend to just show a blank page with no error but no content

Downloading errors.log gave this result:

So I renamed correctly “includes” folder but disabled admin/includes/post.php file. Again the backend would should a blank empty page.

I uploaded a few new posts to my blog. Everything appeared fine in a browser, but as soon as I close wordpress the site reverts back to its previous version.
It keeps switching between the new and older version automatically.

I’m about to purge everything except one problem. I don’t know how. My other sites are secured, so I’m not wanting to purge everything.

I’ve never done this before. I’m on bluehost. I’d just bother them but I don’t want to burden them and also they may not know exactly what they are doing so there could be some issues with their mistakes or misunderstandings.

The site I want to start from scratch is my main site. how do I do purge my site to make sure it’s not infected? I already have whatever I can save downloaded, screenshotted, and copy pasted.

any further words of advice?

My site was already hackeredized.

I have a child astra theme I’d like to not try to figure out how to edit again.

I’m thinking about backing the child theme up on my pc for when I purge and rebuild my website.

but does this carry a risk of bringing hack stuff to my new website build? this time I’ll be smart enough to back up my site on a regular basis. please, and thank you kind helpful community.

I’m tearing my hair out to do something that shouldn’t be impossible.

I would like to make a landing page for those not logged in. This very simple page would include a register button and a connection button, without menus and without the homepage footer. Really, just the logo and the two buttons. A kind of superpopup.

I created a child-theme from which I modified the functions.php file to include a redirect.
But it does not work.
Do you have a simple idea that would allow me to do this?

I have a mega menu on my site and I have added some icons in the menu, but the icons are not loading the first time and come after refresh or page change. The same is in the menu editor it only shows boxes in the first loading.

I’d appreciate your help to fix a missing homepage image.
I managed to rescue the page from the page bin (don’t know how it got there!)

But the header (?) image (top left) is missing. I have an image file – I just don’t know how to edit the header!
I have tried searching but the answers I’ve seen don’t fit my menus (theme is Divi).

I have recently switched to using the Block Editor.

I am having a problem with the alignment of an image with the top of the text in the first paragraph block.

You can see that the top of the image is not aligned with the first line of text as it is in the editor.

Hi everyone,

I′am using the newest version of WP with the Astra theme and Gutenberg plugin.
My question is following, I created a custom page (Template) so I have when creating a new page the selection for my custom template. What I want to archieve now is that the custom pattern I created is directly loaded into my custom template and can be then changed by the user in his own stlye, words ….
So basically I want to remove the step inbetween to go to the Blocks and select there the correct pattern.

Is this possible?

Hi there. I imported starter template called “Outdoor Adventure” and I am using Astra theme. Beside imported pages, I created a few more because I need it.
I want that background of hover is light blue as it is on the first page, on the background image that I posted, but it gives me white color of dropdown menu with light blue hover. I don’t understand why white color of dropdown menu is shown. I just want a background image that I posted with light blue hover background.

My issue is simple for experts. Em not a developer and I don’t have any knowledge of coding

If I go to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity and ENTER My Site Title everything is fine the website main page has H1 Tag.

But when I upload a Logo and Crawl my website the report shows that H1 Tag is missing.
I want to use a logo instead of a Site Title. (I have tried Site Title as Blank but it didn’t work)

In my theme, there are only 3 options available in the Appearance > Customize section
1: Site Title
2:Tagline
3:Favicon

I have tried a lot to find the .php file, I have checked Header.php but I didn’t find H1
then I find LOGO.PHP

It has been a while I am experiencing the problem with my products’ and posts’ headings.
I do not know what happened, but suddenly all my headings appear too small – the same size like paragraph text. Event though I am chosing H1 or H2 the text stays so small you cannot even see the phrase represents heading? https://shop.mamazafriky.cz

Can anyone help me what to do? is it a code problem?

Hello, can anyone helps me? I am a beginner using wp. I tried to index my article, by submiting the link, but till today that no link has been indexed, except the homepage (officialbelajar).

The site already got 29, and no link has been index.

If I tried to click “live test” before request index, then i’ll get “URL is available to Google, but has issues
If it gets indexed and selected as canonical, it could appear in Google Search results. However, some issues prevent it from being eligible for all enhancements”

This actually also happens to my another site (Berbagi Ilmu) the site is almost 3 years already, but there is only alittle bit of link get indexed, even though i keep request index the old link from 1st year that i made, i still found it hasn’t gotten indexed till now yet.

We imported from a CSV a ton of users with the role customer. But we found the role does not fully apply ( woocommerce user metas are not created ) until we click edit user and then click the update user button (At which point it creates the woocommerce metas).

We tried using wp_update_user and wp_insert_user but those woocommerce metas are not created.

What does the update user button do that we are missing?

today I found a situation where folder 10 wasn’t created and so this logic fails to create somefile.txt

is there a switch to cause the folder to be generated at the same time as the file?

Hello, I already added the CSS class for the image I don’t want to be lazyloading (In the exclusion section) but it doesn’t seem to be working.

When I run the image inspection there is still the “lazyloading” phrase showing in the Class script and I see no difference in LCP in CWV.

Please help!

I deleted a favicon and replaced it with a much smaller version. But the old (deleted) favicon is still appearing in GTMetrix waterfall charts:https://robpowellbizblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/favicon.jpg

I have cleared the caches in my WP installation and I got my web host to clear the cloud cache for my website, but still this old favicon keeps loading. The URL for the favicon is: https://robpowellbizblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/rpbb-favicon-48×48-1.ico

I am facing a problem. When I try to publish the article, Wp says Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response. I have tried installing Classic editor, Permalink change, debugging, and disabling plugins too. I changed my theme too. Running on Neve, but the problem isn’t fixed.

Strange Issue (wp bug?): New sub-menu-item is MIA under certain circumstances.
The test result is indicative of 7 unique instances of the same menu
Avada only has one Menu defined.

Menu has:
1) 7 first level entries which are spread across the top horizontal menu bar
2) the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th first level menu items have sub-items
3) added a 6th sub-item to the 2nd first level menu

Test Results:
4) WP dashboard preview shows this 6th sub-item regardless of which of the top 7 first level menu items are in focus (which
is the expected operation)
5) from any of the following browsers; Edge, IE11, Firefox, or Chrome (tested on 3 pcs in 3 different geographic locations)
a) if either the 4th or 6th top level menu item is in focus, hovering over the down arrow of the 2nd top level menu
item shows the 6th sub-menu-item that was added
b) if the; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th or 7th top level menu item is in focus, hovering over the down arrow of the 2nd top level menu
item this added sub-item is MISSING
6) there is also an issue where when the 6th top level menu item is in focus it switches position with the 7th item on the menu
bar (as a test, I had switched these items around but then switched them back … almost as though the WP HTML generator is
using historic data to generate the home page)

Hello everyone!
I have a blog website with different categories displayed in the menu. I want to make the permalinks custom, but they do not work as they should.
So, i want the permalink to be with the category name when the user enters a category, and when he clicks an article the permalink should be category/post name.
I have set in the dashboard /%category/%postname/ but on the categories that have multiple pages, on another page than the first one i get 404 error.
I guess that is because of the permalink because it’s not included the page number. When i tried to enter page between category and post name in permalink i cannot enter the articles anymore. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance!

but all files maybe update

now, if I change any file, I should adjust link every time.
cuz the file name is different, and maybe path different too

the best way I want is just update the file. not need to change the path
