I can’t recommend this plugin enough, if you encounter any problems, they are willing to help in their community and all the features of the plugin is well documented, so if you are experienced or newbie, you can work with this plugin pretty confidently.

WPForo is a perfect plugin from all levels (technical, navigation, code …) and free, thanks to the team, even the support is fast and efficient

wpForo is a highly recommended forum plugin for WordPress users looking to build a robust and engaging community forum. Its extensive features, ease of use, and excellent support make it a standout choice for both beginners and experienced webmasters. While there may be a learning curve for some of its advanced features, the investment in time is well worth the benefits it brings to a community-driven website.

Forums are hard. It’s difficult to please everyone, and there are competing needs in terms of function. But I’ve found WPForo to be phenomenally feature-rich, as well as stable and performant.
Considering that you can use the free version, or enhance it at low cost, I’m incredibly grateful to the team for making this.

This forum easily beats all its competitors!
Apart from the design which must be more modern.
And you need to spend a lot of time, thought and strength on this!
But in the meantime the design kits are beautiful, there are a lot of tools and settings.
I love this forum plugin!!!
He is excellent!
and requires improvement.
I will of course give it a 5 star rating!

I had some issues with an updated of the plugin, but support did help me step by step.

I’ve used Wpforo for a few years now and bought many of their addons. Unfortunately, there are often issues with the software, especially following updates. They often mess things up with the code and refuse to listen to members when they bring it up. It’s only after more members start complaining that they do something.
Support is very arrogant. Even if you report known issues, they just blatantly refuse to look deeper into it. They will just shrug you off like “no one else has reported it and we don’t see the issue”.
The forum software is ok, but it’s bloated and the design is a bit strange. The refuse to make it look more like traditional forums (phpbb, Invisionboard) which is just strange to me. You might as well just install one of those forums on a subdomain and then connect the logins between forum and website.
But yeah, the support is what I find to be the worst. Far too arrogant.

Being new to WordPress, I find this plugin to be very easy to use and install, appealing on the eyes on a basic level but the only gripe I have with it is that it doesn’t have some sort of reactive theme where if a site is placed in dark mode, the forum section on the site will change to a dark mode also.
Not much of a big gripe but still a jarring one from an aesthetic point of view.

We just finished upgrading our community of 42,000 members and almost 400,000 posts from bbPress and GD bbPress Toolbox over to WPForo.
While the configuration, profile syncing and migration can be a bit tricky, the end result is nothing short of spectacular.
The experience is more modern, faster and mobile friendly compared with bbPress. The configurability on types of forums (threaded, vs QA, etc) gives a lot of flexibility, and the widgets load fast and look good.
It solves the biggest problem anyone who has used bbPress on a large forum has – threaded posts don’t paginate so you end up with huge pages that take forever to load. Loading time for these pages went down from minutes on bbPress to seconds on WPForo.
The default styles they offer look good, and there’s enough flexibility to cover the basic customizations needed. Some more advanced customizations need you to add to php (such as showing most recent replies first under a topic), but I’ve been able to find answers for how to accomplish most of what we needed.
The only thing I’d say is lacking is the responsiveness of support. The free plugin is supported by a community forum, which is generally fine. And the paid addons have their own dedicated support which is fast. What is lacking is support for folks who have paid for all the addons but need support on the base features.
In the grand scheme of things, this is a relatively minor drawback and doesn’t stop me from wholeheartedly recommending wpForo to anyone looking to setup a forum.

PRO:
Very professional looking and knowing-all forum. You can set everything. Looks pretty. Have several paid add-ons that make your life more bright.
Super Patient support team!
CON:
Installing is slow (because of the massive build), for the exact settings maybe you will need professional help. Seems easy, but what is merit, same is a flaw, too many things have to be set.

Spot on UI, extensive functionality, great support, and all for free! What else can someone seek?

Very good plugin. I was able to integrate my foro board with wordpress and it was not hard task. Problem only with mysql use, but it problem with any forum software.

So many plugin vendors do not provide solid support and actually find ways all together not to provide it. Once they have your money, they could care less. It’s happened far too many times!
So, it’s refreshing to purchase a plugin by people who not only make a great product with amazing documentation, but the also support it 100%.
I had an issue after migrating my site to another host and couldn’t find a fix, so I posted my issue in their forums and within 24 hours I received a concise and accurate response from an Admin who knew exactly how I should go about fixing it. One try and it was back to perfect.
Thank you Chris and the team of wpforo, you guys set the standard of a quality product and support. Much appreciated.
I wish you guys made more plugins. LOL

The support is very responsive.
Pour moi c’est un des meilleurs sans doute le meilleur plugin de forums sur wordpress.
Le support est très réactifs. La version de base est bien fournie en fonctionnalité.

I compared WPforo to Asgaros and Simple:press.
WPforo has an AWESOME importer tool, at least for Asgaros forums. I was able to import ~20 forums with over 400k posts without any problem. However, WPforo has basic functional issues that happened for me on every theme I tested it on (including the default 2023 WordPress theme):
1. The page containing the [wpforo] code only shows “ARCHIVE” when visited. When I made WPforo take over the entry to the site, the forums appeared, but seeing individual posts in the forum never worked.
2. After organizing Group order, trying to save the order resulted in a prompt to Leave the page or cancel. Either choice implies all data will be lost.
From a reliability/repeatability/training perspective, WPforo has too many options. I [seriously] doubt the developer is able to test every combination. It seems wonderful on the surface, but it’s overwhelming to someone that needs to troubleshoot a site. I encourage the developer to at least consider settings groups like Simple/Advanced/Expert, to let a new user have success with a thoroughly tested configuration that works in most conditions.
As for Asgaros and Simple:Press, Asgaros “just works” and has a low-options approach to settings. Simple:Press has the ugliest UI I have ever seen in WordPress, and their site was crashing when I tried to download their Importer.
#1 Asgaros
#2 WPforo
#3 Simple:Press
(I have reviewed most other forum packages, and for my needs, they fall below)

I have used many paid and free plugins in the market. The best thing is by far this plugin.

Hey!
This is the first time I leave a review here. I’m surprised with WPForo plugin and with the customer support they provide. They write custom code for you to solve your problems. And all this in the free support forum.
Guys! You’ve created one of the best WordPress plugin, so many features and so easy to use… WPForo is the only reason I stay with WordPress, and I won’t regret it for sure!
Keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot!

I was going to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but I am just continuously getting disappointed with their support. I am a paying customer, bought countless plugins and even hired them for custom work. Yet, when I ask for support I am met with arrogance and a treatment as if customers are scum and idiots for having problems. In particular a support agent going under the name “Robert”. Always the same thing, everything is a debate with the is guy, having to prove his superiority. It’s embarrassing. Instead of working towards solving this issue, this guy just leaves you in the cold. They don’t even seem to be interested in figuring out what is wrong so they can optimize their plugins to work for all installs.
Even if I wanted to stick to wpforo I can’t, because I cannot trust these people to offer adequate support. Honestly, it’s the worst support I have ever come across running my site and having purchased countless plugins.

Wpforo is easy to use and has a great support.
I migrated from BBpress and it was such an improvement.
I can’t give 5 stars because reCaptcha3 is not compatible, and I have a big issue with spam, I must delete around 1000 spam users per day.
