Your documentation for setting up a social login and share account for X is outdated.

Specifically:

1. “Twitter” is gone. Use “X”
2. Current procedure (steps) provided for obtaining a Consumer Key and API Secret for X does not work. It needs to be updated. For example, the first step requires setting up a Project. Your documentation skips that part (no mention about it either).

Please revisit and update your documentation (not just for X, but for all other social share apps/websites).

Lately I have an issue with the label color. I have set the color of Administrator (I am signed in with WordPress) red and it comes out as black. I have also noticed that members that have signed in with WordPress their label appears in black.

Hi, I’ve noticed that after a comment is made, the wpDiscuz plugin is causing the original post — along with two others — to be purged in the Litespeed Cache Plugin.

How can I prevent wpDiscuz from purging the additional posts? It should only purge the post where the comment was made, not any others!

In this example, the original post ID is 326337, and only this post should be purged. The two other posts that are also being purged are IDs 44544 and 336138.

Hello, I was using another plugin reCAPTCHA version for authentication and registration to my site on wp-login.php. Now I have to delete the plugin because the reCAPTCHA version doesn’t work anymore for the connection to my site.

What solution do I have to protect registration to my site for a lambda registration via wp-login.php as well as for me at wp-admin?

The social login disappeared after update? Version 7.6.27

In the social login and share page it says, “General in your dashboard. Scroll down until you see the option that reads Membership. Tick the Anyone can register box.“

Is there a hook for when a comment is deleted or blacklisted/unnaproved? I am using the ‘wpdiscuz_after_comment_post’ action to update some custom fields on my posts with the number of reviews and average ratings so that I can use this for sorting query loops. Unfortunately this is only called when a new comment is added, so if any comments are removed the fields dont get updated until a new comment is posted.

For some reason all comments have lost their linking to the pages they were left on. Nevertheless wpDiscuz has memorised their number on each page and shows their number. However, the comments themselves are not available. Transferring ‘lost’ comments to the basket or deleting them completely does not change the picture. The counters still show the presence of comments. Uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin does not change the situation. Can you tell me how to solve this problem?

And at the same time a suggestion. Sometimes a user leaves a comment on the wrong page in a post. How can I move the comment to the correct page?

Hello, just to let you know that after uninstalling the plugin, six orphaned database tables (wc_comments_subscription wc_feedback_forms wc_follow_users wc_phrases wc_users_rated and wc_users_voted) will remain in the WordPress database. They should be deleted automatically upon uninstall.

Is there a way with WPDiscuz that I can have multiple rating values on a post (e.g. Quality, Performance, etc) and produce an automatically calculated overall rating. e.g. a 4 and a 5 on the two rating values would give an overall 4.5?

As far as I can tell, wpDiscuz does not allow users to change their post rating vote. The problem with this is that if a user clicks incorrectly, there is no way to change their vote.

Usually, plugins of this type either have a button for users to confirm their intention to vote or the rating remains editable (in case the user wants to change/correct it).

This feature exists for post comments but not for post ratings. Why is that?

I couldn’t find this feature. Does it really not exist in wpDiscuz?

If it really doesn’t exist, is this feature in development? Is there any intention to implement it?

My suggestion is to implement it so that the stars remain editable even after the user votes (so they can change it at any time).

I don’t know why but the comments are taking a while to load even though they used to show up instantly.

Now you only see the option to add a comment and the comment header. But the comments themselves are displayed only after about 2 seconds.

It does this on all pages where comments can be added, even in different browsers. And deactivating all other plugins doesn’t affect it either.

However, I went through the full plugin setup yesterday. I must have done something wrong there and that’s why there’s a delay now.

What is wrong? Unfortunately, I can’t show you directly. Guest cannot even view comments. However, here you have two printscreens that show it nicely.

I would need a way to find out the number of comments on another page. I can only get this with PHP, but it’s accessing the page as a guest, so they can’t see the content that’s hidden from them.

How exactly does your plugin store the number of comments on a page? Is it possible to read it from the code even without logging in?

Obviously I’m not trying to bypass security, I just want to know the number of comments on a page (nothing more)
