My canvas look ok… it just wont post in the group
Hi, I’m looking for an app that posts entire WP articles including images to a Facebook group page. Does WPBook do that?
If it does, I’ll marry it! ??
Hi everyone, I’m new to this plugin and tried to configure it, though I can’t follow the instructions at all!
Every step for creating a Facebook app is messed up in the documentation: apps are totally different now on Facebook, the documentation is very old and I have no idea how to set an app… I’m not a coder, can anyone help me with a step-by-step guide please?
Greetings,
I followed the setup instructions as best I could considering that fb has changed its interface since instructions were written. Need help with forms to get facebook to recognize app.
Questions About WPBook Setup Form
1. My site has an SSL but I didn’t see where to enter it.
2. What do I put in the field for Facebook Profile ID? My page has a custom URL “ikidyunot”. Please tell me exactly what I should put in that field.
3. How do I fill in the field for Facebook Canvas Page URL? Instructions says NOT INCLUDING “https://apps.facebook.com/”
4. When I click on the Visit this app profile link next to Facebook App ID field, I get a Page Not Found page. I know that’s a clue but I don’t know what it tells me.
Questions About Facebook side Setup
5. I didn’t see the fields listed in the WPB instructions, in the facebook setup process. What do I need to do on facebook to get facebook to recognize the app? I created the App ID and App Secret code.
6. App does not show up on Tab Manager page. I logged into developers.fb.com and made the app available to the public on the Status and Review tab. What else do I need to do on facebook?
Please help; I’d really like to get this working.
Thanks,
Antoinette
Can WPbook work with classipress? I know it works for blog posts, however can it work for classifieds ads from classipress? So far I am having no luck

I don’t now why, but when I posting my new post on blog I don’t see any result on facebook fanpage.
I add all things, like – Facebook App ID, Facebook App Secret, Facebook Profile ID and Facebook Canvas Page URL. When I click in links of this information I’m transferred to correct sites. When I made a new post, I check “Publish this post to Facebook Wall” (YES). Where I make a mistake?
One more thing, for what is option like “Message for Facebook post: (plain text)” If I will not add anything, FB users gonna see photo and part of the text from my post or maybe just subject?

Checking permissions – working.
What can we do?
I am trying to use WPbook to publish posts from my WordPress website to an open Facebook group. When I click the “checking permissions” button I see the following message:
This page is where you can check and grant extended permissions, which enable WPBook to publish to your personal wall and/or to the walls of fan pages.
To correct any of these (or if you see no further info below), Grant or re-grant permissions for your userid. (This is required if you intend to publish to your personal wall OR any fan pages.)
The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is 1458326814439431. You have defined 1458326814439431 as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.
FB profile 1458326814439431 has granted these permissions:

How can I get the proper permissions so that the plugin works?

Hi John,
Greetings! Need help with posting to Facebook page. I have seen all the responses and tried most but still in vain. Something is missing and I guess I have to reach out to you. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
I have a blog site which I recently started and thought of integrating with Facebook. I was told about WPBook by the U-Design Theme folks and hence chose it. So far I have not been able to post to the Facebook Page I’ve created. Followed pretty much all the steps outlined.
One little success I see is how the posts work on the Facebook App page.
My Website: https://www.aksharabhyasa.com (or https:// — both work)
My FB App: https://apps.facebook.com/aksharabhyasa/
My FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/aksharabhyasa/ (other than my timeline)
I am pretty sure it is to with the permissions. I see // when I hit check permission but the posts to the app page is working fine. The URL is below when I hit check permission.
https://apps.facebook.com/aksharabhyasa//?is_permissions=true&wp_user=1
When I hit the check permissions, I used to get no across the board but now I no longer see those options.
I have enabled “Show errors posting to Facebook Stream”. So now I am getting the error page as expected I guess.
My profile ID is: 10152378653030409 (got this from profile pic) and that’s what my logon is mapped to (my personal timeline).
The Aksharabyasa page ID is 628798933879626 and this is where I am trying to post to.
Attached are the App section (2 images), WPBook in WordPress including stream wall (2 images) and check permissions error.

Can you help me?
Hallo,
Im am using WPBook in version 2.6.7. I mean it work’s good, so if I write any new post in worpress and after that i go to app in facebook I can se post and comment + synchronization comments work’s good too.
My problem is sharing this post in facebook group. App haven’t promissions by my FB profile after i click to Grant or re-grant permissions for your userid. So in app it looks like this:
The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is 100000327316507. You have defined 100000327316507 as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.
FB profile 100000327316507 has granted these permissions:
read_stream – no
publish_stream – no
manage_pages – no
user_groups – no
An access token for this user has been stored.
You’ve indicated you wish to publish to this group: 1382718005332120
ERROR: The user access token does not include publish stream and offline access permissions.
Please, how can I fix app that app will wont from me more permissions than Basic information?
Maybe I did mistake in preferences – I can not fount this in preferences – “Deprecate offline_access” must be “disabled” – if this is enabled WPBook will not be able to do much of anything.
Thank you for respond,
ShippeR
I posted a blog today and noticed the text contained special characters and such. Any way to fix this? The profile is https://www.facebook.com/mikeymckoy. The post is about Ariana Grande’s hair.
How do i fix this?
Here’s a quote of what everything looks like.
Ariana’s fans have been giving her a hard time about her hair extensions lately
People give Nickolodeon star Ariana Grande a hard time about her hair and not changing the style up. In true Generation Y fashion the fashionable teen took to Instagram to explain her style to the public. The 20-year-old explained that she essentially destroyed her natural hair, when she had to bleach and dye it red “every other week” on the Nickelodeon show “Sam & Cat.” Grande explained that she wears fake hair styled in a ponytail, because her “actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd” when she wears it down.
We guess hair extensions are the only way to cover up damaged hair. What would you do?
The new facebook stories all carry rather large stories now. Its lovely how wpbook works but as well as syncing comments id really like for the larger images to be used as the feature image.
Its rather hard to see wpbook posts with all of the new facebook posting styles. Can you tell me how to make sure it posts the largest feature image?
you can see the difference on my fanpage. https://facebook.com/foreverhairgirl

So far have been unable to get this to work in cross-posting between a facebook Page and wordpress blog.
A couple of hours after saving my WP Book settings and logging back in, this message always returns “Your Facebook Access Token for WPBook has expired. Please visit the settings page for WPBook and grant a new access token. Until you do so, cross-posting to Facebook and import of comments will fail.”
Also, when clicking the “checking permissions” link, I receive this message:
“The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is . You have defined 60706225 as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.
Your Facebook Profile ID must match the ID with which you are logged in to Facebook, or else an access token will not be stored and publishing to Facebook will fail. Please update the “YOUR Facebook Profile ID” setting in WPBook settings to match the userid shown above.
FB profile has granted these permissions:
Caught exception in getting permissions for user: Parser error: unexpected end of query.Error code: 601″
A couple of problems there obviously, “logged in to Facebook as is .” the ID is blank, and the 601 error code at the bottom. I can verify that the Facebook ID being used is correct, and clicking the “visit this profile” link in WPbook brings me to the correct profile. Other items to note:
Any one know what settings I could be missing to get this to work? I’ve checked and rechecked the instructions, and looked for forum posts with these errors but most people resolved it by saying they corrected something simple like their profile ID.
One odd thing I noticed, in the instructions’ section for WPBook under stream/wall settings, it says to click “Grant permissions” once the IDs are entered. This link does not appear anywhere in my wordpress settings. screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/zhxM1CO.png

Hi John,
After getting WPBook Lite working, I thought I would try WPBook as it appears to have more features that I need.
Since I don’t have SSL on my blog, I’m using https://fbssl.me to provide a URL.
I’ve got my app set up on Facebook with the “Website with Facebook Login”, “App on Facebook” and “Page Tab” all configured.
In WPBook, when I click on the “Checking permissions” link, it takes me to a Facebook page where it shows the following:-
This page is where you can check and grant extended permissions, which enable WPBook to publish to your personal wall and/or to the walls of fan pages.
The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is . You have defined <my FB used ID was here> as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.
?read_stream – no
?publish_stream – no
?manage_pages – no
?user_groups – noAn access token for this user has been stored.
Stored access token is <long access token here>
Active access token is <long access token here>
You’ve indicated you wish to publish to this group: <my group id was here>
ERROR: The user access token does not include publish stream and offline access permissions.
To correct any of these, Grant or re-grant permissions for your userid. (This is required if you intend to publish to your personal wall OR any fan pages.)
I click on the link to Grant or re-grant permissions but it doesn’t seem to work for me, and I therefore don’t know how to change the permissions.
Hi,
The link to the WPBook settings page when token in invalid is hard coded, it would be better to use:
<a href="<?php echo admin_url('options-general.php?page=wpbook.php'); ?>">visit the settings page for WPBook and grant a new
on line 1410 in wpbook.php.
If WP is installed under /wordpress but serves pages from / the current link does not work.

Hi,
I am using WPBook and like for others the token keeps expiring every couple of hours. I have looked into this a bit and found that short-lived token can be extended, but this has to be done explicitly. More details here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/access-tokens/
If I take the token retrieved by WPBook and request an exchange via:
https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?
grant_type=fb_exchange_token&
client_id={app-id}&
client_secret={app-secret}&
fb_exchange_token={short-lived-token}
I get a long-term (2 months) token. If I substitute this token into WPBook i.e. wpbook_user_access_token all appears well.
Could you added this functionality to WPBook so it happens be default (or as an option)?
Kind regards,
Lukasz
Hi,
Aparently for facebook apps a https canvas url is required, is it nessesary to have one filled in for this plugin to function?
