This plugin solved my problem of making mobile-friendly version of site (I had tried almost everything at the time of installing it). WPapptouch
1) does not add unnecessary colourful design inappropriate for information site;
2) allows easy theme selection (I’ve chosen twenty-fourteen, as it shows site pages, not categories, in mobile menu).
If you just want Google mobile-friendly index OK and simple categorized version of the site – this is just for you ??
