Hi there! I’ve been using ULike for years and years and it’s terrific. I’m having a problem that seems to have shown up around 11/11/24.

Admin users can interact with the ULike buttons and receive a near-instant response. Anyone else the icon will display a spinning wheel, or will not respond at all, depending on the type of heart I’ve chosen.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, installed older versions going back to 4.6.5, and it hasn’t alleviated the problem. I’ve also verified that because I use CloudFlare, “Enable Cache Exist” is, well, enabled. I’ve verified that everything else is up to date, and I can’t figure out why the plugin doesn’t respond for anyone but admin users. I’ve searched the support forms, but haven’t seen similar problems except this thread from 2 years ago:

I’m not sure what else to try, and would appreciate suggestions!

p.s. the page I need help with is an example page that has a few comments that should be able to receive likes.

I use a shortcode to display the like icon on the archive page and single posts in the place I need in the theme.
But the following problem arises: if I like a post on the archive page, the number of likes becomes the same for all posts on the archive page.
The problem does not only concern the layout of single posts.
How can I fix this?
And how can I change the size of the icon so that it looks harmonious in the theme?

I have a site that uses WP ULike to allow multiple people on the same internal network to view the site and Like/Unlike comments. The users accessing the site don’t have WordPress login accounts.

I want to do Unlike, so I set the Logging Method to Username/IP, and the Like was already reflected on another PC in the same office, even though it was the first time accessing the site.

If I change the Logging Method to Cookie, the problem goes away, but Unlike is no longer possible.

Q1: Is there a way to customize the Logging Method so that it is a cookie, but still allows Unlike?

Q2: Is there a way to use Username/IP as Logging Method and distinguish Like from another PC on the same network?

I am currently using the pro version of your plugin and would like to add a functionality where users are required to register or log in before they can like or dislike my posts. Specifically, I want the plugin to prompt users to register whenever they attempt to like or dislike any post, and only allow the action after registration is completed.

Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to implement this feature, despite using the pro version. Could you please assist me in configuring this functionality on my site? Any guidance or instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I’m trying to sort my posts using the ULike voting data using a query loop in Bricks Builder but, I can’t seem to find a meta key that I can sort with.

Database table “ulikemeta” with the meta key “count_total_like” in which, there is a column called “item_id” where the post_id is referenced and a column called “meta_group” where value is indicated as “post”.

I’m stumped…any pointers? I’d like to make sure this works before getting the Pro version if possible. I’d appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

Hello there, Im trying to order the posts based on your plugin votes, after checking the database, I saw a table on postmeta called “net_votes” but this table is not created until someone votes on a post. Is it possible to create the net_votes table with a value of 0 after the other entries in the database are created?

Hi. I switched to your plugin from another service for adding likes. Currently, on my records there are already likes set in this old way. When installing your plugin, all likes will be reset. Is it possible to establish an arbitrary initial number of likes for each entry by transferring them from the old service?

We had to rollback to version 4.7.0 because the bbPress Like buttons where we have set custom text are pulling from the setting of the Post button text.

I’m using the default WordPress theme Twenty Twenty Four, and when I disable plugin files for the front page, your plugin files still seem to load on the front page.

And in my review, only the home page had a problem, and if we selected other pages such as the archive, it would work correctly.

The only downside is the use of jQuery.

Of all the plugins we use, it is the only one that uses the jQuery library, all the others have switched to vanilla JavaScript.

Using jQuery as a dependency impacts the speed of sites, which is important for SEO.

We purchased and installed the wp ulike pro, got our license key, and added our website to the license page. But when we add the license key, and click on the activate button, we get a json error. – “An error occurred, please try again (no_json)”.

We tried contacting the ulike support for over 2 weeks, multiple times, without any answers, or solutions.

We tried disabling all plugins, still get the same error. We tried on different browsers, and even tried on different domain and hosting provider. Same error.

Is the plugin a legit plugin? is it still supported? or is it a scam? where did our 99$ USD go? Where can we get help? The plugin webpage chat is not responding, the plugin support form is not responding.

Anyone know how to get any feedback from the plugin author?

If a user with an account leaves a like through this plugin, is the like tied to their account? Or will they no longer see they’ve left a like if they delete the cookies or log out?

Is it possible for a like to be registered to an account at BuddyPress or Ultimate Member, or any other membership plugin, when a logged-in user gives a like through WP ULike?

Does WP Ulike integrates that way with these other plugins and considers accounts too?

How to change “zero counter” text to “Be the first to like”?

Because currently, the zero counter shows ” 0 ” , which is so boring and not instructive enough for users to even “click” on the like button.

What if we could switch “0” to the text “Be the first to like”?

It seems much conversational and engaging to click.

Can I do this right now? ( php code snippet maybe?)

Hello, I am trying to add voting contest to my guest post blog.

I want to give Amazon gift cards to 5 voters each month, for the post that has won.

What I need is:
1. Force the visitors to login if they want to vote for posts (preferably with an option for social login but if not possible – email/password but with email verification before login).
2. Collect the emails ONLY for the users that have voted for specific post.
3. Make users vote for only 1 post per category and only once, and remove their vote of the initial post if they vote for another.

In other words, when the month ends and we have a winning post, I want to export all the emails that have voted on that post and draw 5 random winners.

Is this possible without custom work?

Also, I don’t mind buying the PRO plugin if its not possible with the free but it is possible with the PRO.

Along with the theme on the customization page, you can customize the color and size of the icon. But I can’t figure out how to change the size of the heart icon. It just disappears and I don’t see it, or it turns out to be cut off.
How to correctly change only the size of the “heart” icons. Now it is 30 pixels in width and height, for example, make it 15 pixels.
