Got any thoughts on that?

Hey there-
The WP Tweet Button stopped auto-tweeting, so I de-authorized it from Twitter.

Plugin has treated me well over the last while – just wanted to say thanks for the great work!
I recently changed my permalink structure –
From: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%
To: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%post_id%/%postname%
How would I get the tweet counts restored? My .htaccess directs the posts to the new urls, but the counts do not reflect this.
Does anyone know? I am sure there is some way to do it, but I can’t find any info specific to this plugin.
Thanks!
I’ve seen some similar post here, but wasn’t able to solve this problem from reading them.
I have a low-traffic personal web site. The tweet button counter is really nice because it shows me when people have tweeted my posts, which has caught me by surprise a few times. However, I’ve noticed that while it displays correctly on some posts, on others, the counter shows zero, even though there were some tweets. For example:
https://www.roboturtle.org/?p=4927
This post correctly displays that I tweeted a link to my post.
https://www.roboturtle.org/?p=4905
This post was actually tweeted twice, once by me and once by a friend, but it’s still showing zero, even though the post was made hours before the other one.
Are there any changes I need to make for the tweet counter to display correctly on all posts?
Thank you for any help.

I changed the subdomain of my blog, so the old blog URL [www.domain.com/blog] has become [blog.domain.com]
Is there anyway to use the tweetbutton() function to specify the old URL rather than the new one? This will allow me to keep the previous tweet counts.
I run a site with daily scheduled posts, and was hoping autotweeting would work for us- but it only works when a post is manually saved (this defeasting the purpose of having my posts cheduled) – doesn’t it make sense to trigger an autotweet when a post is published, not just saved?
Thanks

How would I use the WP Tweet Button settings (including custom text if set etc.) with a different image (manually placed in template) that I want to serve as a tweet button instead of the default (though without a counter etc.)?

Howdy. So when I used to use the TweetMeme button I could click on the number and it would show me who-all tweeted my posts. When I do this on the Official Tweet Button I either get an error message or it just shows me my original tweet and no others. Most of my posts get tweeted a few times, some more than others so I’d like to be able to see & connect with the folks tweeting my stuff.
Any assistance is appreciated ??
I was wondering if there’s any way for the Tweet button to use the title attribute when it sends a tweet. I run a TV blog and use
tags in my post titles to surround show titles; the tweets come out with those tags (and sometimes users don’t care to erase them so it comes out ugly in the tweet).
Is there any way to get the tweet to use the much cleaner version of the title? Maybe I’m too stupid to have found this information already!
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
Authorize goo.gl tracking button not working in WP-Tweet-Button plugin. Any solution for this issue?
I’m using your plugin on my blog https://www.icedchai.com but unfortunately it gives one very frustrating problem…
The tweet count appears only sometimes and for some posts, both on the homepage and inside particular posts.
For example this post:
https://www.icedchai.com/countries/11-reasons-to-visit-and-always-remember-istanbul/
has about 20 tweets (you can track by clicking the button) but the button count is stuck at “0”.
I tried many different ways to resolve this problem but nothing worked. I will be extremely grateful for any help or suggestions!
Thanks in advance!
Currently the plugin uses WP_PLUGIN_URL in all of the paths for where the button image is located at, WP_PLUGIN_URL is a derivative of WP_CONTENT_URL, which in turn is based on what the user specifies as their ‘siteurl’.
If the ‘siteurl’ is set for http, and only some pages are served via https, then those secure pages which this plugin is used on will have the button image served from http instead of https causing insecure content warnings from browsers.
I submit the following changes to correct this issue in the hopes that you will include them, or similar changes, in future releases so I do not have to maintain a separate code base for this plugin for the sites I use it on.

I was wondering if there is a way to disable or set a custom url for the original_referer on the tweet button.
For example I want the tweet button to tweet the following text:
“I want to win a NETGEAR Switch with @virtualgraffiti and @netgear. Visit https://bit.ly/owif6Z and RT for your chance to win. #NetGuardStore”
But right now when I specify that as the tweet text it automatically adds the blog post url to the end of the tweet so it shows up like this:
“I want to win a NETGEAR with @virtualgraffiti and @netgear. Visit https://bit.ly/owif6Z and RT for your chance to win. #NetGuardStore https://www.virtualgraffiti.com/blog/?p=15540”
So is there a simple way to disable the blog url from getting added to the tweet?

Once again – great plugin!
I have a question with regarding to placement of the button – it’s been a long day, so please bear with me if I am asking about something obvious.
I have been using WP Tweet Button for some time now where I have placed it manually on the index.php page for my blog posts so that each blog post has the tweet button next to author and publish date info.
However, now I find myself in need of adding it alongside some content on a page. The easy answer of course is to use shortcode, but won’t selecting placement by shortcode mess up/deselect the settings for the manual placement of the button (on index.php)?
Hello
I’ve just installed the button via the plug-in and it’s mostly working HOWEVER it does not recommend twitter users after someone retweets a post. Just to make sure I knew how this function was supposed to work, I tried it on this site (which is where I found out about the plugin) and my blog isn’t doing that and I don’t know why. Since I am using the plugin because I’m not a programmer I don’t know if something is going on in my code or what.
I can say that I’ve authorized my twitter account (@makeuptogo) however I have not ticked any boxes under the Auto-Tweet function. This is because I a ) didn’t really understand if tweet when saved meant tweet when published (obviously I wouldn’t want it to tweet before the finished published peice) and b ) I’m already using Blogsfeed.net and I didn’t want it to conflict and/or create multiple tweets.
So I know I’m not giving a lot to go off of here but if someone could steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Thanks! ??

On lines 559, 560, and 561 the buttons at the bottom of the settings page were being echoed with <?=

I think this is a terrific plugin, Tanin, especially given your quick responses to questions. I have a feature suggestion regarding the “No After on Front page” checkbox. I think the checkbox should allow for removing the tweet display after posts on archives as well as the homepage. The post layout of archive pages really is identical in structure to the homepage in the setup on most sites.
Tanin,
I know that Joost de Valk’s Gooogle Analytics plugin can use hashtags instead of question marks for SEO purposes. It also allows one to redirect question mark utm campaigns to hashtag ones.
Joost says ” the question mark. The question mark has a real meaning in URLs: it allows you to add parameters to a URL. For that reason Google and other search engines, as well as sites like Delicious, can’t automatically strip these off. There is, however, a very nice solution to this problem: campaign tracking using a hashtag.”
https://yoast.com/canonical-urls-social-media-campaign-tracking/
Is there anyway you could implement an advance setting check box to allow us to switch to hashtags for the button? I redirect my question mark Google Analytics parameters to the hashtag version now using Joost’s plugin but I would much prefer to have the original parameter with this plugin set up as a hashtag.
Cheers.
Edward
