After installing the new update few days ago, I see this error:

No need to display accept cookies dialog with this, no one can spy on your data and I do get statistics that I need.

I had to use Query Monitor to find the culprit and the culprit is WP Statistics. My back-end (dashboard) was taking > 30 seconds to load (edit.php in particular) and it was all but impossible to work with. After disabling WP Statistics, the diagnostic was correct, as it resumed loading in < 0.5 seconds.
It is not the first time I have encountered such an issue with this plugin.
Note WP Statistics does not *always* make the site or backend slower, which makes it even more difficult to pin-point when it does happen. I suspect the plugin is using some blocking code that is accessing some kind of CDN, and when that online resource is slow, the whole site becomes slow.

I would pay for this plugin if the author wasn’t constantly attempting to add new features or rework its display, and breaking it in the process. Today, I let it update from 14.9.4 to 14.10, and once again, it broke two important features and I had to roll back the website to yesterday’s Updraft backup.
There’s a constant nag in the settings about switching to client side tracking, because server side tracking will go away in version 15. Tried it, and the site stopped registering most visitors. Really takes away any motivation to pay for the would-be “Pro” version of the plugin, or even allow automatic updates.

Are you guys serious? The most BASIC feature of being able to sort pages / posts by VIEW count now appears to be a PREMIUM feature? Clicking “sort by VIEWS” leads to a blank page and anyway that I could actually get VIEWS to show up, even when scattered, it just says “PRO” and then when you hover it says “click to upgrade” or unlock… I feel like such a grumpy old man getting aggravated by this sudden shift in the digital space with EVERYTHING!!! being subscription based, and im only in my freaking 20’s. Uninstalled and finding another plugin which allows SORTING BY VIEW COUNT, the only reason we ever downloaded this plugin in the first place.
