This is one of my favourite plugins, it saves me hours of work where I normally migrate pages the old cut and paste way. This is a massive time saver. Not sure why some have said it doesn’t work, it does and I have scraped hundreds of pages.

This is a great plugin and it helped me in solving a few complicated problems in a client’s website. I, however, had to make a few minor adjustments to suit our purpose. One change that I had to do was add a redirect to the post edit page after saving the scraped content in single scrape mode. It’ll be great if the author considers this as a feature request. Thanks.

This isn’t a bad plugin – per-say! (you don’t say?)
I cannot give it a full 5 star review, but it does derive (it), especially for what it tries to achieve.
In use, in your admin backend on the purpose build scrape screen, you select the target web-page to (scrap), grab the title, grab the content: then save, but you can only save it as a (Post) – Not a (Page!) Which then necessitates converting it, but at least the image links get dragged over and saved properly.
The advert at the bottom isn’t welcome, which then necessitates yet more editing.
Now, I’m moving hosts and sites soon, and I am looking at dragging over only half of my content. Cloning is gonna be hard work, this could do it, but the Post -> Page means that it’s a pain. This feature is no doubt in the Pro version, but I don’t know.
As I say, this Plugin ain’t half bad, but fiddly to use: especially if you’ve got a hundred or so Pages to go through. If you’ve got the time, then fire it up.

I recently had an issue with the Live Scraper not functioning on one of my sites. I wrote to the plugin owner, and almost immediately, I received a reply from Robert, one of the partners. He was extremely courteous and he followed through with several emails back and forth, all within a short period of time. This challenging issue was resolved very quickly, and now, I have happy clients.
I have used the WP Live Scraper plugin for several months now, and found it to be extremely easy to use with no issues other than the one I described above which turned out to be nothing more than CSS code.

This plugin is 10 stars for me. The premium Live Scraper add on solved a huge headache and I would recommend this to anybody.
Reading the 1* review below I would say it was unfairly given it needs to be removed, developers work hard to offer free plugins and something that could be solved by emailing the plugin creator should not warrant a 1* review.

I looked for a tool to import and to synchronize some content with another project. Stumbling upon this tool, it allows for perfect, surprisingly smooth integration. Purchasing the pro-version and having some questions, the support answered in minutes and solved all my problems in a whim. Great piece of plugin.

I tried to scrape a list of URLs, it failed silently. I tried to scrape a single URL and the preview showed my WP dashboard with errors instead of the URL I was trying to scrape.
I tried to browse the plugin’s wp.org Support forum for a solution and the author spams every topic with a request to email them instead, making the support forum completely useless to anyone trying to look up an error. If I could rate this plugin 0 stars I would, but unfortunately I’m forced to give it a star it doesn’t deserve.
Initial error appears to be on line 70 of simple_html_dom.php where an offset of -1 is given to pass to file_get_contents() on line 75. Offsets are not supported for remote files as per https://php.net/manual/en/function.file-get-contents.php

Works on localhost but not on live server = CORRECTION = works great = had to install php55-php-mbstring on my server for it work ??

I had a conflict with one of my other plug-ins at first and it was working but it wasn’t saving the images properly. The support that came with the pro version was truly stellar. They even followed up with me when I got sidetracked by other jobs! I highly recommend this plug-in for those jobs that have tons and tons of pages and you need something to just scrape the majority of the content to get what you need quickly. It doesn’t do everything for you, but it certainly does the vast majority.

This is a great plugin, but the development team behind it is even better! They were so responsive and helpful when I was not able to get the plugin to work the way we needed and they responded SUPER QUICKLY too! And offered great alternatives for customization for our specific needs. This is for the website I manage for a publicly owned and operated Airport, the ability to get accurate real time information is pretty pertinent for us.
