You can not disable it on comments and use it for registration only. If activated, it adds re-Captchas everywhere.

Completely stopped spammer registrations

Pros: Works on some of the sites installed on
Cons: Doesn’t work on some of the sites installed on.
Notes:
We have 30 or 40 WordPress sites online for our customers. However:
So we tried installing it on two identical WordPress version sites, both with the same version of the plugin and same version of Contact Form 7. Key pair registered successfully for both sites.
One worked, the other didn’t. Tried getting a new key, no success.
For the time being, it’s hit and miss for consistency. Although WordPress does flag the plugin as not having been tested with the newest version of WordPress: WP 4.4.2

just found out that WP-reCAPTCHA causes a server overload.
I’ve searched and fiddled around for months why and what regularly was causing the server a severe traffic and overload. After deactivating some plugins and one by one activating and monitoring them I figured it out.
So I deactivated recaptcha and removed it.

without a problem. The only thing is that is not customizable on which pages it can be enabled (like registration, comments, etc.). But, leaving that aside, works like a charm ??

Bravo! Typical google service these days. I wonder if one day google just will stop working because low-waged kiddies will type “rm -rf /” in root console to see what this command is about.

It has many options as compared to Simple reCAPTCHA plugin, it allows you to choose whether to show the recaptcha on comments, login, registration, etc forms.

reCaptcha is the best captcha system and this plugin does well the WP integration part. Works in WP 3.8, should be updated to indicate that.

can u add a shortcode to insert it in a post?

Doesn’t seem to add reCAPTCHA to registration for the WordPress site even though I’ve configured the settings and everything.

Had a bit of a challange as most (not all) captcha plugins wouldn’t work on the blog comments page (login, etc. was fine). Traced it back to be an issue with the subscribe2 plugin.
This one however works great!
We have wp 3.9 & Avada theme …
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
Thanks for the plugin, I’ve tested the reCAPTCHA part with WordPress 3.6.1 and it works fine. It just needed a few undefined indexes fixed for which I’ve issued a pull request: https://github.com/blaenk/wp-recaptcha/pull/58
Cheers!

We use this plugin to add reCaptcha to user registration, and it’s still working with the latest WP 3.6.1, despite it only showing compatible up to 2.9.2.

Excellent, well done.
Is it possible to have this for the login form as well?
