Visits are not shown in a list of posts in category.php or taxonomy-custom.php
The function is inside the loop.
However, in index.php it is displayed perfectly.
The code in index.php, category.php and taxonomy-custom.php is exactly the same, it’s very strange…

I am using Elementor Advanced Queries together with WP-PostViews. Unfortunately, it only takes into account posts with 9 or less views even though there are many posts with more views (looks like lexicographic sorting of strings instead of sorting numeric values). Does anyone have a clue how to overcome it?

Nice plugin! I only see 2 options for the shortcode. I wanted to pass in other arguments, but don’t see any documentation on how and things like type=”page” and category_id=”10″ are ignored. Am I missing something?

How can we display the total views of all the post in a shortcode?

say I have 10 articles with 10 views each. I would like to show the total at 100 in a shortcode in a stats page.

I want to stop using the WP-PostViews Plus plugin and go back to WP-PostViews. How to do it correctly without losing the number of counted views?

So I hired someone to fix an issue on the server, & he deleted a lot of plugins & now all of a sudden my columns in the post page area are so wide, that the title text (even some other columns) are wrapping so it looks vertical and I can’t read the title easily. https://nimb.ws/WRTDoa

We contacted WP, & they said it must be one of the plugins, but all of the plugins add columns and yours in specific doesn’t need that much space b/c it’s just a few numbers & the word “views.”

Can you make your column narrower?

This has been causing me a lot of time & stress trying to figure things out.

WP Fastest Cache mentions about compatibleness with WP Postviews.

It says
“Yes, it is compatible with WP-PostViews. The current post views appear on the admin panel. The visitors cannot see the current post views. The developer of WP-PostViews needs to fix this issue.”

It stop counting when I use these versions of plugins. Does not matter I enable wp fastest cache or not. It does not count when these plugins work.

It starts counting when I use following versions of plugins. Still need to disable wp fastest cache though.

Thus, I think version 1.77 of WP Postview is reason of no counting.

Version 1.77 does not count view data, so I tried to re-install it after uninstall the plugin. Now all view data is gone, and still no counting.

I have copied site that I made. Is there anyway to import view data from copied site to original site?

since I updated the plugin to version 1.77 it doesn’t work anymore
the views counter gives me 0 or at most 1 or 2 for all articles

To count all topics I am using the wp-postviews plugin and it counts topics well but it can not count those topics which are in groups

it can not count topics that are created in the groups.

I am trying to use Advanced Post Queries in Elementor to select the most viewed posts, but it is sorting the view count (field name: views) as a text field not a numeric value (ie: 9 is greater than 19).

How can I get the field to be numeric so it will so it will sort correctly?

your plugin does a great job, still we encounter a very strange problem that is caused by the plugin (when we deactivate it everything works as expected):

We run a site on two different domains: https://cba.fro.at and https://cba.media
While loading time on the first domain is fast, the plugins causes the .media domain to load up to 25 seconds.

Whether we set the counting mode to AJAX or not, doesn’t make a difference.

Do you have any clue what the reason for that might be?

I have <?php the_views(); ?> in content.php to display the counts. What I am aiming for is to display the count in each post listed on the home page. I could only find content.php that does this.

When a user apparently clicks on one post and opens it, the count for that post is added by 2 instead of 1. Is this because I’m placing the_views(); in content.php? Count +1 because the user clicked on the article, count +1 because the user viewed the article, therefore count 2?

– My WordPress has a membership system, plus I exclude bots, so the possibility of unintended views is very low.
– Counts due to reloads within each post are added in increments of one.
