I am using WP Post Series for a website which uses wpml to manage its 3 languages.
However, I can only create a series in one language, wpml does not “see” it so it cannot translate.
Do I understand correctly, that I need then to create 3 different series (1 per each language) then, per each article belonging to a series, I need to manually associate its language version to the correct series name in the appropriate language?
e.g.
For the website which is EN, DE, AR
I need to create 10 series, so I need to create 30 (10*3) series
Then per each article in the series
associate EN article version to EN series name
associate DE article version to DE series name
associate AR article version to AR series name
Is that correct or I am missing a much simpler and faster way? thanks

I love this plugin, except the first N lines of the excerpt for every post I make when I enable the plugin contains a compressed version of the series summary instead of the first N lines of the actual post text. This makes it so that (in my theme) the “excerpt text” for each of my posts is pretty boring (it’s the post series) instead of the first paragraph of my post. On my homepage, this means that every post displays as a title followed by a compressed version of the series text.
Is there a way to suppress this? Even if I move the post series block to the bottom of the page, the excerpt still autogenerates with this text. If, instead I use a manual excerpt this fixes the problem, but is cumbersome to write an excerpt for each page.

]]>Everthing works fine but the permalink https://…/post-series/slug/ does return a 404. Is there any chance this has to do with the plugin? I fiddled around with permalinks and tried a lot of stuff but it is persistent.
Would you know of a certain test scenario I could launch or am I missing something in the work flow? I created a post series, display and navigation works fine, it just does not link to the entire series, or shouldn?t that work out of the box?

]]>Hi, apparently the plugin doesn’t show the entire list on mobile if it’s a long list. So what I’m trying to do is to group each post in 2 separate series and link the in-between chapters. I am half of the way as I’ve already figured how to link the first series to the 2nd group, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it in reverse.
For example: A story has 30 chapters. In one series group would show the first 15 then the other group would show the rest. I’m trying to find a way to link the first chapter of the second group so if someone clicks that chapter, the series that will show would be the first group.
I hope that made sense. Lol! Please help.

]]>Right now, it looks like you can’t add a post to a series in the 5.0 block editor. I suspect this is because of the register_taxonomy() call not setting show_in_rest to true, but I haven’t tested that yet.

]]>I saw that there were questions about the post series having better permalinks. This fucntionality is already built into the plugin and is simply disabled by default.
All that’s needed is to run this code:
add_filter( 'wp_post_series_enable_archive', '__return_true' );
You can put it in functions.php if you don’t mind it being coupled to your theme. ??

I’ve been using this excellent little plugin on a couple of blogs and like it a lot. I know you’re trying to keep it really simple, and I can appreciate the value of that. However I wondered if you’d consider a few very simple feature additions?
The value of the 1st is that people need to know there’s another post when they get done reading the current one, not so much when they start. The 2nd one allows them to see and click through to the other posts. As it is now both of these kinda run counter to UX best practices.

At this time, when you rate one item, it rates all in the series list. I would think that this is due to the ratings widget, but I don’t believe so because if there is no rating at all, those that do have ratings show no rating in the series list. So it would seem that the list is taking the rating from the post that you’re viewing and applying it to all listed in the series. Is there a way to stop this? Any help is appreciated.

I have a small query regarding the Post Series plugin. Presently, I’m see an area at the top of my post series with “More Posts” link, which when clicked, shows the other posts in the series. I was wondering how I could close this area when I click on it again. Is there something that I overlooked?
