Hello – I’m looking for some advice as one of our multisites uses this plugin, and it does the job very well. My company is creating a new child site (example.com/global) and this URL will replace the original example.com. This means that all instances of example.com will be redirected to example.com/global.

We have thousands of users assigned to upwards of 20 different sites – and I need to make sure that when we push the new example.com/global site to live that all of the users associated with the original example.com will have access to the new example.com/global. Is there a way to ensure this happens using the plugin? If anyone has any experience with the process or the pitfalls associated with this I would be very grateful for feedback.

I have a feasibility question before I take time to test this plugin out.

I have a main site, mysite.com. Then I will add a subdomain, such as subdomain.mysite.com.

I intend to have three types of user roles on my overall site, Role 1, Role 2 and Role 3. Role 1 and Role 2 users will register on the main site and Role 3 users will register on the subdomain site.

I would like to know if I can use this plugin to sync Role 2 users from the main site to the subdomain. The reason is the content of the main and subdomain site will be different: Role 2 users will post their content on the main site and Role 3 users will post their content on the subdomain. Role 2 users should also have access to the subdomain while Role 1 users will only have access to the main site.

So, I want to sync all Role 2 users to the subdomain so that only they (and obviously Role 3 users) are able to see what Role 3 users posted on the subdomain, but do not sync Role 1 users.

Is that something this plugin can do?

Could we get support for HM Multiple Roles plugin as currently it only syncs the first role alphabetically and removes all other roles from other multisites.

All editors and admins on all sites was set to “Subscriber” when a new site was added and users “synced”. How do I get all user role assignments back??

We use the Pro version and when we sync a user on site A, the user group on site B ist set to the default group, instead of using the declared groups. We use WooCommerce and for the group management we use the “members”-plugin. We’ve deactivated all other plugins, but still the same fault. Any Idea?

I noticed an issue with your text domain that makes GlotPress unable to find the internationalized strings of your plugin.

The issue is that your plugin text domain isn’t set yet. You have to set the slug of your plugin, wp-multisite-user-sync, as text domain and update it as text domain in all translation functions as well. This change is needed because your “Requires at least” is below 4.6. You can find more details here.

I hope this will help you improve your plugin by increasing accessibility for non-English speaking users.

This plugin is not built to scale for larger multisite installations. We found two issues:

First, it does not allow you scope the plugin to a single a network (site_id).

And more importantly, the admin pages attempt to load every blog on your multisite install without pagination onto the admin page. For larger installs, this easily runs out of memory.

Any plans to add this support to the plugin?

We use NS Cloner to clone sites within our multisite setup. I had imported 24,000 users and everything seemed fine until I tried to clone a site. It will not copy unless I turn off the Multisite User Sync plugin.

After I cloned a site, I tried to turn the plugin on and I got an error message: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

The developer at NS Cloner said: “that large of a number [of users] could well result in memory issues if the user syncing plugin is trying to perform some update on all of them. That would really be a question for the developers of that plugin.”

Has anyone had success with this plugin, cloning subsites of a multisite setup, and a large number (@ 24,000) of users? If so, what cloning plugin do you use?

Does the free version automatically sync a user role between multisites?

You would think they would respond to all questions – wonder what their support is like for the Pro version – anyone have an idea?

Hi, I’m just trying to understand your plugin given that so many people love it. If I have a plugin on a multisite setup, and I create UserA and UserB. The problem is that UserA can view and even use UserB’s data. So many users share the one table data. Can this ‘sync/unsync’ separate the Users, so that when they view, add, update or remove data, in that it can only happens to their own data?

Hi, I have activated the plugin, and after that i am unable to register users of any user role.

I tried using network admin, site admin both.

Just getting this error message:

“ERROR: You are not allowed to register.”

Any solution for this?

Even after deactivation of the plugin, the issue not gone. Is their any permanent change done on the database?

Like:
Login: When a user logs in to a site, it’ll automatically log them in to other sites!

Logout: When a user logs out from a site, it’ll automatically log them out from other sites!

I have been having two recurring problems with this plugin.

Some users can’t stay logged in when changing from one subsite to another.

More frightening, some users have their User Role spontaneously changed. So far, only to a lower Role, but this is disturbing.

I’ve worked with their support, but the support people are very bad. They like to just point you to their documentation with no other comment. They also get easily confused and mix up one support ticket with another.

Is this plugin “wp multisite user sync” capable of exchanges a selection of membership details across multiple sites. Not syncing adres details etc. but only password and username?

I run a multi-site (using sub-domains) for a sports association.

One sub-domain is used for member registrations and manages new user registrations, user updates and user deletions. I need to be sure that any changes made by a user on the member sub-domain is also reflected on the Network. This includes user deletions.

Does your plug-in allow for this?

I’ve installed the free version (no problems buying the pro if it works) but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have set custom roles and they are display the the sync setting and are checked. In user account I check 1 option at a time and save form but there is still nothing in any of the other sites.
I presume (please correct if I am wrong) buy this should send user details to each other sites based on the roles.

We are planning to buy this add-on (wp-multisite-user-sync) to sync the users between multiple sub-sites. At present we have around 2000 users in one of the sub-site with mixed roles i.e subscriber, editor ,author, etc…

However 1) we need to sync all those 2000 user accounts into other sub-sites with by default “subscriber” role irrespective of what role they have on master site.
2) Whenever we add new account in master site that account should be synced in other sub-sites automatically with “subscriber” role.

Can we achieve these options by using this add-on? please confirm.

I commented on the pro version asking some pre-sale questions but also playing around with the free version I installed and network activated the plugin but the global settings or user settings don’t seem to be showing and there is nothing in the error logs.

What does the global settings page do? I can select a user role but not sure what that does.

I have users that create subsites Can I select that user and sync them with the Primary Site? Trying out your plugin and I can select any other subsite but doesn’t look like the Primary Site is available to select.
