Exports fail to download. Seems like the plugin deletes the file before its finished downloading and there is no way to resume the download.

I was intending to use this with WPLocal.
I tried it on my live site, it went great, except it did not produce a zip file.
then tried it in Local, same result.
New installations of WP with bare bones, it did exactly the same.
Never had an error message at all.
Move along, nothing to see here

I have to buy the full version to import my site in another host, i know its free but why putting a free INCOMPLETE PRODUCT only to promote the pro version, waste of time sorry for being so honest

This is the easiest migration plugin I’ve used so far! I used it to migrate a remote WordPress site to Local. Much simpler than other plugins I’ve had.

This plugin throws a lot of errors, it doesn’t work!

Excelente para migrar sitios grandes o peque?os.

For me, it’s the best of its class. I discovered it as I was working on a client’s site which used the “Pro” version. I liked the way it presented the backups, sql, files etc.
The Lite version does what I need, no problem!
Thank you!

From very good plugin you create very bad plugin. You are storing backups on server without option to delete them. You are offering migration functionality which doesn’t work at all. Stick to what you did good and don’t offer what you can’t do.

Horrible, they lure you in and you can’t invet import without paying for premium.

EDIT: Actually it did finally generate a download zip but when I tried to use it in the Local WP app on my Mac it failed. Disappointing but I still have the other app “Backup Migration” to rely on.
_
This app doesn’t have a clear way to access the backups after running the process. I’ve tried twice – and I see something like this: “Export Complete 0 157.85MB of data was exported in 2m 51s.” Good info but WHERE IS THE ZIP?
First of all there is no visible download button after export, and I can’t see anything in the settings panel. Nor can I find the files anywhere in the WordPress folders.
I will have to continue using the very good alternative “Backup Migration” by Inisev. It is a magical process. So reliable.

Ahorra mucho tiempo exportando base de datos. Gracias!

I exported a DB from live but when I try to unzip it I get an “Unable to expand” error when just double clicking the .zip
file on a mac.
I went ahead and ran unzip -tq file.zip
in terminal and I get this response..End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of filename.zip or filename.zip.zip, and cannot find filename.zip.ZIP, period.
Can you help?

Although I’m not sure if this is actually fully WP Migrate’s fault, the export to Local feature never works. I tried many many times and always end up using any other migration tool after a few tries.

This plugin is useless out of the box as it doesn’t handle any kind of importing. It only exports your files into a zip. If the plugin was given a more truthful name like “WP Export” I’d give it a few more stars.
You have to pay $249/year for the premium version to actually migrate stuff.

Fue el único plugin que me funcionó a la perfección.

I wish I had discovered it sooner. Get Pro and forget about Migration headaches.
]]>Rating: 1 star
Not sure there’s much point to this plugin, you can’t do anything with the export unless you’re using LocalWP, it should be called LocalWP exporter. Because it doesn’t actually do “migration” with just the free version.

Documentation is horrible and in order to get this to work had to uncheck most of everything, inspite of it being from a local wp website, and then I had to downgrade the version of PHP in order to get the plugin to run on one side. THEN to “import” you have to pay a ton of money…if things weren’t so janky, i don’t mind paying, but the export process is extremely janky and can’t justify even testing this anymore.
Save your time, DO NOT USE THIS

I purchased the upgrade to WP Migrate, after the Lite version failed multiple times. It claimed a timeout error on the upstream server.
The problem is there are no instructions as to how to upgrade. Every time I click the word upgrade it wants me to buy the Basic plan again.
I tried to upload the file but its not in Zip Format, only a folder which fails to upload.
Bottom line: I have proof of the purchase but no way to use it.
I can’t get a response from the email support included in the upgraded purchase.
I want to be contacted.

Simple to use, reliable and effective.

The push/pull functionality of the pro version really does save me hours of work and takes the stress and headache out of deploying changes.

I’ve tried this plugin twice on different sites and in every case incomplete archives are generated.
It just doesn’t create an exact copy. I can clearly see folders in the original site that are not present in the backup that was created. I don’t normally leave such reviews but I don’t think this plugin would be reliable in production if you’re looking for a complete export, you’ll have to go back and manually copy files over and redo some changes.

In several tries, it fails to download a complete archive. No error is generated. Presumably this is some kind of timeout issue from my host, but I see no suggestions for how to deal with such an issue. So it’s basically useless to me. Time I spend resolving this issue could instead be used performing a manual migration.

This little plugin deserves a five star review. It’s one of those WordPress plugins that just works, quietly doing what it’s supposed to do in the background without hurting anything else. I’ve used it on development and production sites without any trouble.
I have learned that whenever find and replace stalls, it is always attributed to errors within the database itself and not the plugin – which is a good excuse to fix such errors. Previewing the migration before committing the change helps to nut out which table is affected.
Honestly, this free plugin has been a lifesaver and a timesaver, and I’d be more than happy to pay for the well-priced pro version when the time comes. Thank you.

wasted my damn time. 0 stars. can’t even import!!
]]>Rating: 1 star
let me get this straight… so it’s a bloated/cripple plugin that essentially does the same thing you were already doing with phpMyAdmin, but with a find and replace function that you could run yourself in 10 lines of code? Gone are the days where devs didn’t try to price gauge other devs I guess.
]]>Rating: 1 star
You can export but not import. The zip file is useless. Why even pretend this is a free version? Just a scam.

The best plagin!

Simply enabling this plugin broke my entire network. What a piece of garbage.
]]>Rating: 1 star
It sucks that the plugin really forces you to upgrade in order to really use the plugin.
I honestly feel like it’s scummy to only allow export, without an import option, but I get it, it’s a business.
