Great for a Maintenance or Coming Soon page and comes with several templates. I’ve used it for that purpose on a couple of sites, and I’ve taken advantage of the templates to build myself a Linktree/Carrd alternative on another site, and I just permanently leave LightStart on.

Please avoid. THEY ADD 4 seconds to my admin dashboard load time, just to get their advertisement business going… look below, two requests to “recommend plugin or theme”… Guys, ASK when you take 4 seconds out of my request time to recommend some stuff that I never asked for, especially not on the main admin page, from a little utility plugin.
GROSS. Guys like this ruin the web.

Got a full page of code error messages when tried to activate maintenance mode.
I give up on those maintenance plugins, I’m making a custom maintenance page.

We were disappointed to find after we installed this plugin, that it also installed 2 other plugins (Optimole and Otter Blocks) which we did not want. We did not see anything about additional plugins in the product description. I find this highly inappropriate. I would urge WP admins to flag this plugin as potentially dangerous, or even remove it.
Part of our WP site seems to be malfunctioning after removing all 3 plugins, although we cannot seem to figure out for sure whether this problem is related to the unwanted plugins. But the timing of the problem, which started immediately after we uninstalled them, seems suspicious. Our header image has disappeared, and while we can get it back with different settings, it does not appear with the same settings we had before the extra plugins were installed.

I’ve been using this plugin since it was wp-maintenance-mode. It’s nearly the first plugin I install on a new website to begin work. It works as I like weather it is a single site or a multisite.
Of course, resistance to change could have been mitigated by better communication, especially when adding new plugins to the installation… But this plugin really does its job and now we can modify the “maintenance” page using Otter or Gutemberg in the back office.
It totally matches what I need. Thank you for this plugin!

Just here to write my experience with this plugin. I am not a person that usually writes reviews but seeing the amount of negative reviews regarding the automatic install of those two plugins and the refusal of the developers to remove that functionality makes me very angry.
The Optimole plugin installation is a checkbox but from the wording it’s not very clear that this plugin will be installed automatically. The other plugin, the Otter blocks gets installed automatically because the maintenance page templates make use of that. The installation happened without my knowledge and also messed up my homepage for a second (probably something to do with another block plugin I have installed or a clash with the theme, who knows?). As a result, I don’t trust this plugin at all, even though I liked the templates. It’s a matter of principle for me.

I just install the plugin but after that they silently install two another plugin without your permission. It’s a nightmare. Imagine they also stole your website data.
