Holger was brilliant in helping me sort an issue with blank emails. He sent me an amended version of the plugin which solved the issue. Great communication and so helpful, even though we use the free version! The plugin is full of features not available in other WordPress mailing list plugins, and the even the free version gives us all the functionality we want.
Thank you, Holger!

I’ve been using Mailster for many years, first in Joomla and now in WordPress. The most important thing for me is that the editors use their regular WordPress login to manage the mailing lists. And it just works.

I have been using this plugin for a longer period on different sites and I am very happy with its possibilities and its versatility.
Recently, I had a problem which was related with the new EU legislation when it comes to using a from address different from the mail list address.
Although I am using just the free version (as of today…), I was supported in a superb manner with fast and helpful suggestions. At the end, those suggestions were correct and the problem was solved with some effort provided by the plugin author!
I can absolutely recommend this plugin not only or its functionality, but also for the service being provided: you are definitely not alone!
Thanks for that and kindest regards!
Michael

Does what it says it does. Fast support.

This plugin is the best alternative one can find when “migrating” from tools like Mailman. Support is provided directly by the dev and excellent. I can clearly recommend this plugin over all the other options out there! Thank You.

Works fine, easy to use.

We are a small non profit org (choir). After we changed our Webhosting Provider we suddenly faced the issue, that we produce too much emails / hour somtimes: When discussions via email come up within a group of 40 people this sums up fast and the webhosting is somewhat restrictive. We had six distribution lists with forwarding to members individual mail addresses.
We looked for a better solution, which allows unlimited mail sending. Now we are using WP Mailster and it does the job as we need it.
The option to have both WordPress Users and users created directly in the plugin assigned to groups or mailinglists is great and saves some time. Also self-signup is useful and the added layer of security (e.g. only list members are allowed to send to the list) is an improvement compared to our legacy setup.
We are using Amazon Simple Email Service via SMTP to send emails coming from WP Mailster. I had some trial and error to identify the correct SMTP setup, but finally it works. I sent the setup to the author, so it can go to the list of provider settings, which the author published on the plugin website.

I’ve been working with WP Mailster for a little time, doing quite a lot of research before deploying it to my clients.
I find the plugin to be sound and stable and the feature set is what you expect from a good Mail List Server. The shortcodes are very useful and help to quicken the development work. I do like the fact that the parameters are “per user list” and not just global – makes a lot of difference.
I used listserv back in the Unix days and have trying to find a plugin with that simplicity and power for a long time – WP Mailster fits the bill.
I’ve had occaision to use their support for problems and development questions. Very happy with the support indeed. Swift and helpful.
I would be very happy to recommend WP Mailster to anyone who wants a good straightforward listserv plugin.

We’ve been using WP-Mailster for about 2 years. During that time we’ve encountered various issues that caused the plugin to fail or not not perform entirely as expected because of local server setup issues . Each time the WP-Mailster staff worked diligently to resolve our issues. We ran into another problem this month and once again they stepped up. No software runs entirely trouble free so it’s nice to have support that is there for you.

About 7 years ago I searched for a ListServ application to be used on a WordPress membership site — I could not find one other than the Joomla version of this plugin. Using a sub-domain and the Joomla platform, it did its job flawlessly for the last 6 or 7 years. For this period, I manually had to synchronize the WordPress membership with the Joomla database.
Now, as with any other software, I rebuild and updated the WordPress membership website to WordPress 6.1, updated the server to PHP 8.1. and installed the WordPress version WP Mailster (enterprise, because I need a license for a second website) and ditched the old Joomla based mail list server. It was an effortless crossover.
WP Mailster does what it is intended for, its interfaces are logical and support is given speedily. The best part, no third party is involved to disseminate the emails.

This plugin is very feature-rich and powerful. It is really one of the only ones of its kind. I had a couple of issues when configuring it and testing it, but I received very fast and helpful replies from support.
The plugin is perfect for many usage cases. Mine is simply that I have a WordPress website that used to use Google Groups. Google Groups is great, but everyone needs to have a Google account to access the web-based interface. Also, there is no easy way to sync Google Groups membership with your website’s member data. Trust me, I have tried, but none of them work very well.
Thanks to the developer for this great creation! Keep up the nice work.

We have run Listservs on two member association websites for 7 years. We have used outside/non-wordpress vendors. We have used and tested other WordPress plugins. We even built our own WordPress solution that worked for us for a while. We’ve been working with WP Mailister now for about a year, and it has been by far the best solution for us. Simple set up. All of the options and features we could ever need. Excellent support and customer service. Comprehensive documentation. And it’s so affordable. For the users, it is simple to use, and we love having the user-facing email archive. I would highly recommend this plugin if you’re looking for a WordPress listserv solution.

We use the WP-Mailster Plug-in for our camera club emails. We use it in a number of different ways. 1. Mailing out to members any news about website updates and changes. 2, Distributing our newsletter [replies only go to sender] & 3, as a ListServ for our Committee emails and email discussions [replies go all to whole group].
I was unable to find any other plug-in that offered this level of flexibility, it was straightforward to implement and requires no maintenance. It is updated regularly and provides detailed logs to enable me to track down and managed undeliverable or bounced emails.
Support is always timely and excellent.

Hi,
After a year of searching (testing and subscribing to services) in order to replace the “mailman” product, which we gave in my case, some problems, I found this plugin, which solves what I need (enterprise edition).
Doubts and possible questions about how to approach the service have been resolved quickly via email: fast, effective and efficient support.
I encourage the developer to continue with his style of support that has sometimes gone beyond what he expected and to grow the project, which will surely be to the satisfaction of its customers.

We use the plugin with more than 20 mailing lists. The numerous setting options allow a flexible, stable and well to automate operation. Also the shortcodes and the frontend email archive are very helpful. The delivery times (Sprint Cronjob Service) could be a bit faster, but that’s complaining about first world problems.
The support is what you want it to be! Issue report – quick response with precise steps – fix on release level the next day! Great!
So, we spent much time finding an appropriate listserv plugin – with all the common listserv problems – and WP Mailster is the solution.

After trying another WP mailing list plugin and not getting it working (and getting very poor support) I switched to WP Mailster, and had a completely different experience. It was easy to set up, works well and integrates easily into our site.
When there was a problem about server limitations, Holger from WP Mailster was ready to help and sorted it out for me in a friendly way. I really recommend this plugin to add an email listserv to your WordPress site.

This is a really powerful, feature-rich, and easy to use plugin for managing multiple mailing lists.
The most useful feature to me is the grouping of users, which you can think of as user roles. Mailing list members can be derived from any combination of grouped users, or ad-hoc direct additions to the mailing lists. Users can be added from your existing registered WP Users list, or as separately managed WP Mailster Users who only have mailing list privileges.
There are many many nice touches, like available widgets for subscribe and unsubscribe, and short codes for users to self-manage their subscriptions, and for viewing archived e-mails.
It’s really slick! I highly recommend this plugin!

WP Mailster supports the many features listed (forming groups of users, multiple mailing lists, etc.), nice documentation for setting up a cronjob to trigger sending and receiving, and has a simple sign-up shortcode for your members. I had some trouble at my site and received great support, which I appreciate. I’m hoping to get enough members signing up to justify the premium version.

Really great plugin that solved an issue for a few of my clients who needed listserv functionality. Was able to write a complementary plugin to sync WP Mailster with another CRM. They provided excellent, timely support when we ran into configuration issues. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a mailing list/listserv feature.

Robust listserv plugin with many valuable features. Documentation is thorough and better written than many plugins. You must follow the documentation steps carefully as it is easy to overlook a critical instruction. However, the product works really well when properly installed. Reliability is great.
Response to support requests is uneven – sometime fast, sometimes slow. Even with the paid version (Society), it can take up to two weeks for an acknowledgement of a request for technical assistance. Support itself is excellent once it responds. Holger is very knowledgeable and thorough. All issues submitted do get resolved. I particularly like the way he explains what the issue was and what he did to resolve it. This teaches me and I feel better prepared to do my own troubleshooting in the future.
I really like the product and the way it performs.

I tried the free version of this plugin and after a bit of trial and error, I was able to get a mailing list to work (IMAP/SMTP settings can be tricky). I contacted support when I had the free version and didn’t hear back from support (for about a week) until I purchased the paid plugin. In all fairness they do say that support for free plugin is slower. However, after I was able to get free plugin to work I decided to purchase paid version and contacted support again and they responded in a couple of days. This plugin does exactly what the description says… it creases a listserv (email mailing list) that is for two way communication so members can also send out emails to the entire list of members. The plugin has digest features which are a great bonus. The plugin integrates well with WP site and WP users are able to manage their own subscriptions to the listserv saving countless hours of manually managing subscriptions. Best of all, The plugin allows for creation of as many mailing lists as one needs with no limit. This is a must have plugin if you are wanting a mailing list that your members can use too to communicate with each other.

I have been using this plugin for almost two years for a education association that has just short of 500 subscribers now. I have had very few issues, and any that I have had the developer has fixed/addressed. I must say I have only ever fond a WP plugin developer once with the quality and speed of support that Brand has provided in over 8+ years of working with WP.

I have for many years used this plugin for Joomla with great succes. Now I use it on WordPress for my choir with 50 persons. I have mail lists for each voicegroup and the board. It all works great.

I’ve been using this plugin for about six months now, to replace an traditional listserv for an academic organization with a membership of a couple hundred. It works reliably and consistently and is surprisingly customizable considering the challenges of making a listserv work through WordPress. The developer is incredibly responsive, both in making updates and adjustments when it’s called for, and in explaining the technical limitations when a particular feature just isn’t possible.
I wrote a couple code snippets to integrate the listserv with our membership plugin, which means members are automatically added when the join and deleted when their membership expires. We would have never been able to integrate things that seamlessly with something like Google Groups.

WP Mailster is great for setting up group discussions /mailing lists. Attachments come through, and unlike yahoo groups you do not need a specific mail platform to belong to the group.
WP Mailster has been really helpful at setting me up too.
Would definitely recommend the plugin!

I grabbed this plugin because I needed a way to set up mailing lists without having to go outside of WordPress. This plugin fills the bill and has several useful features, like list archive viewing and the ability to selectively allow access to specific lists… and so much more. You can also set it up to use your domain’s smtp/imap server rather than use php mail (it uses php mail by default).
The author has done an incredible job with this plugin and has responded quickly whenever I’ve had issues. The value received is worth the amount paid in my book!

After searching and trying several other plugins, Mailster seemed to be my last hope in getting our Community items off of other ListServ providers. Thought I’d take a shot at getting in touch with development to see if they could solve a problem that exists when using WordPress Multi-Site. Talk about a HOME RUN – Support responded to me with a few things, which didn’t solve the issue initially. After working with them over several days, a working plugin was provided that WORKS beautifully with MU! Great JOB guys!!! For those reading this with some frustration maybe, be involved in the plugins you use – if something doesn’t work, don’t just bail – ask. Sure GLAD I did! –William

When it comes to listserv plugins for WordPress, there are just two choices: Mailing Group Listserv and WP Mailster. I bought the first one and ran into limitations and problems. A major limitation was that it didn’t offer CSV imports and exports. A big problem was that the cron-job created new php files in my public_html directory every five minutes. It was horrific.
WP Mailster, on the other hand, handled CSV imports and exports, had a great, well-organized interface, and handled cron-jobs invisibly through their included service. Support has been first rate. Mailster costs more, but it’s worth it.

I’ve used the Joomla version of Mailster for many years now and seeing it ported across to WordPress was great news for me as of the 100+ sites I manage, all but one were WordPress and that one was Joomla only because I needed it for Mailster.
Although it is a relatively new WordPress plugin, the concept behind the scenes is sound and well tested so I was happy to become an early adopter. I also knew from personal experience that support for the product would be excellent regardless of whether issues were inherent in the plugin or of my own fault in configuration.
It didn’t take long to get the new install up and running and I’m really pleased with the end product. Thanks Holger for creating the WordPress version

I was hoping to get good result test driving this plugin. Unfortunately, I got an error as soon as I activated (The plugin generated 251 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.) and when I tried to add the first SMTP server (Improperly formatted SQL query). Both of these are within the first minute of install.
For now, this plugin is not ready for production. However, thanks for the energy put in giving back to the community.
