This is honestly a superb idea and this should be built into WordPress. Would seamlessly cut down on a TON of bot activity. Time is money for bots.

This plugin does what it says, it adds 1 second (adjustable) to your login time to reduce brute force attempts.
Thank you.

Very nice little plugin. I thought I wouldn’t able to find that simple solution separate from other security features and will be compelled to write it myself. So thanks to the author for having it done for me. My failed logins log now shows only up to 10 attempts a day, while recently these were about 500 attempts for 2 days. Looks like bots don’t like not responding immediately websites ??

Doesn’t do much but that it does reliably. It’s basically a standard plugin for each wordpress I set up.
Edit: I gave 5 stars at first, but reduced this now. Partly due to lack of further reaction to this support request (which is actually a bug report), but mostly because I don’t see the point in using it at all, as soon as one secures the login otherwise.

The plugin says it adds one second delay on the login step, and that’s what it does. Nothing more, nothing less.
