Haven’t used wp-greet for quite a while, but just now noticed the datetime picker in the form template triggers a js error. Probably too old for the jqueryUI core shipped with wordpress. May want to try update the jqueryUI widgets to v1.12 and include the last version of the timepicker… or as the author suggests go with flatpickr.

On another note: maybe add a check in the form that disallows the sender email and receiver to be the same.

1. I use the WordPress-Galery as Galery-Plugin and it does not work – no pictures are showing up. Yes, I set the external link thing …

2. I’ve created all as described. The weird thing is when I want to edit the mycards-page AND the galery in the options of the wp-greet-plugin is set active I get an fatal error. When I deactivate the galery OR set the Galery-Plugin to none then i can edit the page.

Did some investigation myself and found the cause.

First, found typo </p>p> in wpg-form.php near end of line 1095.

This didn’t fix it. Then thought it was related to thickbox vs wpautop, but that wasn’t it either. Note that this page says you need to wrap it. You don’t need p tags. You actually don’t need any wrapper (I checked), but I recommend using a div.

As I was testing on a newer wordpress version, I then thought it was the age-old thickbox jQuery code (eg. deprecated .bind instead of .on) and newer version of jquery finally catching up with it, but that wasn’t it either.

I was testing the ecard form page without query parameters (eg ?image=…) and finally found this code in thickbox var queryString = url.replace(/^[^\?]+\??/,''); returning an empty string (url is taken from the a.thickbox href, including the page url). queryString is then parsed to find inlineId pointing to the element with content…

I’m posting this anyway, for future reference, and for you to fix the html.

Sorry to bother you but I can’t achieve adding a wp-greet form to any page. In the admin page of wp-greet, anything is proposed in the combobox : “Page or Article containing the form”. And in the page, I can’t find any option to add a wp-greet form.
I surely missing something but I can’t find what…

Malformation of the image SRC string is peculiar and particular (see above). It’s clearly (?) getting mis-parsed in wpg-stamped.php. Per other forum posts on this topic, the gallery that feeds this page IS (properly per your direction) set to link to the media file.

If I enable SSL on my site, the form page to send the card, does not show the actual image. I get something like: The image “…” cannot be displayed because it contains errors.

Please check below issues:

1. In the confirmation email, %receiver% resolves to sender.
2. IF CC to sender is checked and sender sees the card, the confirmation email is fired.
3. Confirmation email subject is: You greeting card was received. Please correct typo: Your.
4. We do not send cards in the future, however the message: Your greeting card has been sent or scheduled, is always used.

The feature request:

Can we have CC to sender, as an option? We do not need it.

I am working on a site using wpml to support two languages and everything is running fine except:

How can I setup the translation of
Message to display when a card has been sent or scheduled
and
Message to display when a confirmation mail has been sent
which are setup in wp-greet admin?

After a quick look at plugin’s code, I was under the impression that if these two fields were left blank in the admin, then the default strings would be used instead (which I know how to translate). However, this is not the case.

Any ideas?
(everything wordpress is latest version)

The 3 spam protection methods available are:
1. CaptCha!
This through the years has become “Captcha by BestWebSoft”, it works on my development machine, it does not work (for some reason I do not know) on a new site I am building.
2. Math Comment Spam Protection
This was last updated 6 years ago, so sooner or later, it will break.
3. WP-reCAPCHA
This is simply a non-existent plugin.

As all 3 methods have problems, I am suggesting to please consider the inclusion of the Akismet plugin.

I just downloaded the plugin and have the same problem as someone who posted here about 10 months ago.

I set up a WP gallery on a page and another page with wp-greet shortcode.

The wp-greet page shows up on settings as the form page and I clicked active on the gallery in the settings.

When I display the gallery page and select a photo it displays the form but the photo is not above it only the name of the photo I selected.

When I open the developer tools in Chrome I see the following for the photo

which displays the name but not the photograph.

I tried to add new photos to the gallery as indicated on that previous issue but the photos still do not display.

Hello!

I am seriously having trouble with this. First, in order to use the NextGen Gallery, I have to change a piece of code, however, I can’t find the line specified anywhere.

Second, if I use WordPress as my gallery, nothing shows up in Gallery and no options to choose any pictures to use.

Third, when I pull up the settings page, I am instructed to make sure I choose a page/post, however, nothing shows up on the dropdown menu.

I can’t figure out what’s going on or how to fix it. Please help!

When I add text that contains an apostrophe in the message area, the apostrophe is escaped with a backslash and the rest of the text is cut off. I tried with and without the TinyMCE editor. Same results both ways. Text is cut off on the form page, the preview page and in the email.

With the new inline thickbox url I thought I’d rewrite my resize script. However I noticed the thickbox now ignores width/height values. I guess you didn’t see it when you made the changes. Can you confirm and see if there’s a fix for this. Otherwise I’ll write something to set the styles directly.

As for more safety it takes less than 1 minute to make the form inaccessible without url parameters by putting this at the top of the form template:

Hi,

Last year just before christmas I found a bug which screwed up many ecards. This year I feel spamfilters are gonna be a problem, as the last couple of month I’m seeing a lot of rejected emails.

Mail servers (spam filters) returning ecard mails undelivered due to not meeting IPv6 guidelines re ptr records (gmail), DMARC policy (yahoo), and I’ve seen the DKIM problem too. I know DKIM is supported by phpmailer. It needs adding DKIM info to the email, and some DNS setup. Do you have any knowledge about that?

Another problems is the mailreturnpath which adds the address to $mail->From and $mail->AddReplyTo

Apparently the AddReplyTo should match the (static) Sender ?

If I use mailreturnpath, then all denied emails, non-existing address failures and recipient replies come to me.

If I don’t use it, then the system (also depending on static sender I think) uses the email entered on the form as the sender/from and also in the replyto, but maybe many emails are never delivered at all (I used this setting before and saw too many unopened ecard links)

What I’d like to have is all the the spamfilter messages back to me, but the rest to whoever created the ecard.

How do the pro ecard sites handle all of this stuff?? Perhaps use a service like postmarkapp.com ?
