The business model of taking over useful open-source software and rewriting it as SEO spam needs to fail everywhere, but particularly for people trying to comply with privacy laws.
Get it out of the plugins repo ASAP wordpress.

Maybe you should look the word “free” up in your dictionary.

Free in the title.
Bad UX overall, incomprehensive and only trying to nudge you to sign up and pay for something. Completely unnecessary too.

Wow… this plugin used to be a very good and straight forward tool to cover the GDPR topic. After this plugin has been taken over they turned it into an advertising tool and for some reason just inject a bunch of crap in your WP sites. And if you don’t register to their newsletter, this plugin goes inactive without any notification. This is unacceptable. Just why would you be like this…

This is a perfect example how not to take over a plugin… It used to work when it was owned by Van Ons. Somehow the new owner thought it was a good idea to disable the plugin for all sites to force the user to register for their newsletter…
Worst Danish product ever!

I’ve used this plugin from the beginning. It never was great, but it did what it supposed to do. But since then they’ve completely restyled everything with links to there own website and even worse they’ve now disabled the plugin on all my sites until I sign up to their newsletter!
Please you’re a cookie plugin, you have one job. Stop taking sites hostage just so you can spam us with a your newsletter.
For anyone else with this issue: you can download previous versions on the plugin page under “Advanced View”, after you’ve download it change the version number to something really large eg “99999” to prevent the plugin from updating.

HTML Code on the front end, missing privacy links, fatal errors etc. A once great plug-in has become a complete disaster. At the same time, there is massive advertising for a subscription. What is the point of all this?

free for 30days or just personal GDPR!

I’ve used this plugin in the past and it was ok, now it’s constantly suggesting to upgrade for a paid version and that is definitely not a good practice…

This plugin was simple and to the point.
Now it’s been taken over and turned into a marketing tool for a premium solution.
It’s perfectly fine to have a premium solution, but please, don’t bloat all pages with advertising about it..
IMO, this is not the way to market a paid solution in an open source community.
UPDATE:
Since the latest versions it even requires you to provide your details, otherwise it wont work.
I’m reporting this plugin.

I’ve been using this plugin for a long time, but the latest updates contain some crazy bugs.
A site on which it was installed has stopped tracking conversions on both google analytics and facebook.
I tried to install it on a new site and it throws this fatal error:
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'WPGDPRC\WordPress\RequestDelete' not found in /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-compliance/WordPress/Plugin.php:92 Stack trace: #0 /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-compliance/WordPress/Plugin.php(59): WPGDPRC\WordPress\Plugin::initializeTables() #1 /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(303): WPGDPRC\WordPress\Plugin::activate('') #2 /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(327): WP_Hook->apply_filters('', Array) #3 /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(470): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #4 /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-admin/plugins.php(193): do_action('activate_wp-gdp...') #5 {main} thrown in /home/wx3d044i/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-gdpr-compliance/WordPress/Plugin.php on line 92

Please add this line use WPGDPRC\Objects\RequestDelete;
in your “wp-gdpr-compliance/WordPress/Plugin.php” file at line number 9.
I am having issue plugin is not getting activated so I fixed it on my own.

They ruined a working plugin and made it paid. The formating was reset during the update, limited backward compatibility. Shame…

I had this plugin installed on many websites and after an update of this plugin most of my clients website’s weren’t function as it should. I waited a couple of days and it never got fixed.

No cookie popup in so called “free” version, when they removed popup nobody informed users about it and your consent just didn’t show anymore.
Get started for free is actually a 30 day trial.
The plugin has links to original author web page just to deceive users. For example the FAQ page.
This plugin is also not open source anymore and it is advertised as is. In “premium” version you get analytics and possibly more consent/data sellout troubles than this plugin is here to get you rid of. The amount of data Cookie Information collects about users is also a concern as it integrates with everything Google has to offer.
Plugin has two different web pages which is confusing for users.
The whole operation of the original author selling this plugin is shady and I do not trust this plugin.
P.S. I would include links but WordPress doesn’t allow them here although the editor literary has insert link tag.

New update 10/18/21 slows down my website quite a bit. Went from a 92% GTMetrix score down to 76%. Deactivate the plugin and the website is fast again. The update needs work. Previous version was better.

Excelente plugin.

I will leave a negative review because the dev did not solve this issue, but closed the threads with little to no feedback.
“Couldn’t find this consent.” – this happens whenever I try to add a new consent. When I had a consent, clicking ‘Add new’ forced me to modify the existing one. Since I deleted it, now there’s simply no way to add any consent and use this functionality.

Great praise for the well thought-out plugin. Please do not be discouraged by this “little” Faupax because of the security problem. Keep it up! You are on the right path.

Absolutely must-have plugin for any WP site. Works out of the box, integrates nicely with ContactForm7 etc. etc., intuitive, covers all the bases. Much kudos for a solid piece of code.
