Hello Hans,
Today I’m checking the weather using your awesome plugin and I found it still shows the Daylight Saving Time. Today is the day when we went back to the Standard Time. This is the setting I use https://ibb.co/Hz2Z4gX
I was wondering if the time comes from the API, which is Open-Meteo in my case.
Thank you!
Rob
Hi Hans,
I have a location where it shows Precip.: 0.6mm / 68% / Rain
if using metric units. However, if I turned metric units off and use imperial, it shows 0.00094488188976378in / 68% / Rain
.
Assuming the value for the metric units is correct, then the value for the imperial doesn’t match the 25.4-time conversion. see https://www.google.com/search?q=0.6mm+to+inches
Right now I’m not sure which value is reliable but the conversion seems off. Any ideas?
Thank you,
Rob
My awesome support,
I have found the plugin is really helpful but how to increase the number limit of “How many wp-forecast widgets would you like?” found in the Global Settings.
By default, it has up to 8 but what if I need to add more?
Thank you!
Hello!
I want to do a project, a weather site with over 200+ cities.
I really like your plugin and I saw that by default are only 8 widgets available.
I got on the plugin file editor and I edited wp-forecast.php
and edited:
//
// maximal number of widgets to use.
//
$wpf_maxwidgets = 200;
to 200.
After letter Z, the widgets ids showed numbers:
And the website is slow. Over 30+ seconds to load everything, even outside the plugin. Please help me to do this. I really want to make this project ??
I don’t know why it doesn’t play well increasing the value.
Thank you very much!
The following link worked perfectly fine using my free openweathermap API key.
api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?q=my-city-name&APPID=my-API-Key
But i get 401 errors all over when i try to test your plugin with the free API key of openweathermap.
So the question is, does this plugin work with openweathermap free? It does not look like it to me. Would be nice to know upfront, cause i was under the impression it would work with the free openweathermap API.
Hello, Is it possible to show the forecast, directly from a lat/lon? (using shortcode or with a custom php call).
Danke! – Thank you!
Plugin installed, activated and version 9.2 running on WP 6.4.3
No errors when doing API tests and all fields populated correctly.
No data shown and just placeholder images along with field names.
Please advise as I am not getting any error codes or messages from the plugin.
I have used the older version of the plugin and found weathers not displayed.
So I updated the plugin to the latest version.
But weathers are still not displayed, “Failure notice from provider: No OpenMeteo data available.” message is displayed instead.
I performed connection test, and the following error is shown.
“Test ends in error.
Error-Message was http_request_failed cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired”
What does this mean?
What action should I take?
Hi! I have few websites where I use this plugin and ones that had newer version of plugin installed (v7 I think) now work with v9.1. But I have websites with v5.x and updating to x9.1 did not help. I constantly keep getting “No OpenMeteo data available.”
I tried installing different legacy plugin versions and updating to v9.1. but nothing helped. Now I’m looking to deactivate and remove plugin completely and install fresh v9.1. but I see that all options are still stored like – city location and other information even if I delete plugin. I looked at database but I can’t find and info on this plugin stored there. Where does this plugin store data so I can remove it and install fresh 9.1. plugin and add everything again?
Hi,
i tryed (after plug in changes to open meto) to reinstall the Plug In. But as soon i try to activate it i git a fatal error warnung and Plug in can not be activated:

I installed wp-forecast Version 8.9 on my Beta site after Open-Meteo was used to replace the Accuweather interface. It is now working, but I was slapped on the wrist for replying to a problem report initiated by someone else, and my responses were removed. When I tried to install wp-forecast on my production system it would not Activate. I finally activated it manually through PHPMyAdmin by adding it to the active_plugins record in the wp_options table. It is now working correctly. I just thought you would like to know about the activation problem. Thank you for resolving the original problem.
I changed from Accuweather to OpenWeatherMap V3. I obtained an API key for “One Call API 3.0”. It has been over 12 hours since I added the API key to wp-forecast and I still receive the failure notice. Does it take longer than 12 hours for the API key to be activated? Do I need to sign up for the paid version? I ran the connection check and it looks like everything works.
I tried Open-Meteo and I get the same failure notice, and the connection check also works.
Is there something else I should look for?

Hi there!
Your plugin crashed our website today, for some reason we were not able to access the WP back-end, this message was displayed:
Bad: [XML] XML Fehler: Not well-formed (invalid token) in Zeile 1
I found info about this Error here:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/77083772/bad-xml-xml-fehler-not-well-formed-invalid-token-in-zeile-1
After I disabled your plugin in cPanel’s File Manager (renamed the folder with your plugin), everything worked fine.
So, can you please explain why this happened and if there is solution to this error? Otherwise we will not be able to use WP Forecast on our site any more.
Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!
This afternoon, our weather widget started displaying the following:
Failure notice from provider:
Connection Error:http_request_failed
Do you know what this means and if there’s anything I can do to fix it?
thanks!
The plugin was working last week but suddenly stopped. Work on a new site Localhost in XXAMP and it was working, but this week it just broke. Bad URL. When I moved it an external site it pulls the URL from the main directory of the hosting. I have spent way too much time on this and couldn’t find anything the forum that could help me. Everyone says this plugin is a breeze, but it is killing me.
Nice tool to show weather.
Unfortunaly I can’t get CSS to work. I am using elementor with one site and standard WordPress with another. Not working on both.
I use shortcut to display weather.
I did a “cp wp-forecast-default.css wp-forecast.css” and edited the css file, but nothing changes.
I looked into browser dev tools.
Under elementor there is no content under . In wordpress there is content but it never changes.
What am I doing wrong?
I’m trying to display weather data for a location that I can find on the AccuWeather site, but can’t find it in the plugin. All the search terms I used show either no results or similar name locations.
Some of the search terms I used: brasov, poiana, poiana b(ra).
The location is: https://www.accuweather.com/ro/ro/poiana-brasov/2275564/weather-forecast/2275564
I’m out of ideas, can you help me with this situation?
LE: Also, where do I get the location code? I wanted to use that, but it doesn’t correspond to the IDs I see on AccuWeather.
Hello everyone!
Thanks Hans Matzen for this beautiful plugin!
Just to inform for something i noticed.
I run a fully updated website with:
WordPress 6.0.2
Elementor 3.7.8
Classic Widgets 0.3
Disable Gutenberg 2.8
WP-Forecast 7.5 (older version)
I tried to update WP-Forecast to Version 8.4, but after updating it,
my Footer was messed up.
Meaning i use 1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4 structure and it became like (1/1)+(1/1)+(1/2+1/2) in 3 rows. Strange!
When i disable WP-Forecast the Footer comes back to normal with empty space in the widget of the Disabled WP-Forecast plugin.
Any ideas would be helpful!
Thanks
