we use the Backup function of the plugin. since 1 month the Backup takes fore ever/doesnt finish.

I checked for every option seperatley for the backup. The problem is when i check Upload for backup.

Im new to WP and Plugin. if i could get an advise where to look for en error message would be helpful.

Also the plugin doesn’t gibe a response. Just the backup animation is running for ever

We edited the wp-config.php file to enable debug mode and then when we opened the file manager we received the following error: “Invalid backend response.” Since then, we’ve been unable neither to edit any files nor to view any folders or files.

PHP version: 8.2.21
WordPress version: 6.6.2

I can’t open any folder… And when I manage to, it closes instantly and take me back to the root folder…

After clicking once on the file I want to select, I then click on the “Select File” button above and in the upper right-hand corner, the message “Press again to exit” in a green box appears. However, when I click on “Select File” again, nothing happens other than the URL updates. There are no other buttons available to press.

I’m running WP v.6.6.1, PHP v.8.1.29, and my web browser screen is maximized.

Anyone else run into this issue?

I found a bug.
Installing WP File Manager rewrites the config.php file incorrectly. I found define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true ); written instead without brackets and “;”: define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true

This brings down the site completely. This happened to me on two different sites.

Just so I understand, were Shortcodes already allowed in the free plugin? Now they are only possible via PRO?
For me this is better, I don’t want Shortcodes, I just need to be sure that this is not a feature that could return to the free version and leave me vulnerable.

Plugin Donate link to a wrong website or expired.

I have a website for a client that uses the File Manager Pro plugin for all their different kinds of files to be downloaded. One of the Folders in the File Manager is for Tender documents. On one of the pages on the website (Procurement page) there is a section that lists all available Tenders with a link to download from the File Manager. (currently there are no tenders to be downloaded)

The client wants users to enter their details (email, contact number and name) before they can download a tender document from this section (only that one folder called Tenders in the File Manager)
Is this possible on File Manager and if so, is there a tutorial/documentation on how to achieve this please?

Does the free version support modifying the default login link in the backend? How to modify it?

It looks like jquery-ui 1.12.1 is still being used which is causing security alerts with the scanner we’re using. It’d be great if it could be upgraded to either the core WP version of jquery-ui (13.2 currently) or something similar.

I do all my backups using WP File Manager. I make a full backup before doing anything new on my website. Today I wanted to restore an old copy of the website so I could find some text from the main page that I removed but now I want to put on another page.

So, backed up my site, then restored the oldest version I had — from 2022. Now, the site is broken, and when I got to my Existing Backup(s), there is only the one from 2022 — my newer ones are gone! Help!

I logged into my hosting service (hostgator.com) and using their file manager got 5 files downloaded to my machine.

 ?  backup_2024_06_14_19_11_49-974e14f1-plugins.zip

But, now I cannot figure out how to restore the site to use these file? hostgator.com has cPanel, but I’m afraid to do too much in case I really really trash the site…

The easiest solution, I guess, would be to somehow have the Existing Backup(s) page show all the backups — or at least my backup from today, so I could restore it.

But, at this point, I’m willing to take any solution! Help! I’m freaking out here! ??

Recently I found I couldn’t upload files via WP File Manager. Our web host (Kualo in London) support person located the problem as the CVE-2023-6825 vulnerability (directory traversal):

“It appears the request from the wp file manager was hitting a web application firewall rule that is protecting the server/account from Directory Traversal Vulnerability in File Manager And File Manager Pro < 7.2.2 (CVE-2023-6825).”

He suggested we update WP File Manager to v.7.2.6 – but we were already using that version.

Kualo have now whitelisted this rule for our account, which seems to have fixed our problem and enabled uploads again. But I guess this isn’t the optimal solution. They suggested I report that the file traversal issue hasn’t been resolved in v.7.2.6 to this forum, so this is what I’m doing.

Sorry – I don’t have the knowledge to provide any further technical information on this.

I have been using this plugin and making required changes in my wpconfig file, php.ini file etc by accessing cpanel content from this plugin, I have a query that, what if I deactivate or entirely delete this plugin from my wordpress site, will the changes I made will be saved without any issue, or they will be erased with the plugin deletion?

Using Pro, 8.3.5.

Students upload a project folder structure as subscriber, upload bars move. Folder structures upload fine, just empty. No files at all.

can’t drag and drop .html files to upload. The never make it to the server. Nothing in the logs, it’s as if it didn’t happen. Can drag and drop other files such as .css, .jpeg, .pdf sucessfully.

Change the same user to admin, and uploading folders and files work fine.

Upload the same files as zip and uncompress (as subscriber), it works fine.

Nothing changed on our server that we know of, permissions are all fine etc. Admin accounts can use WP File manager interface and upload fine. We’ve used this process for 2+ years without problem, don’t think anything has changed on our end other than WP updates etc.

I can upload/Download Xls, ppt, docx files but unable to edit them in the file manager also there is no option to create a new Xls, ppt, docx file.
Please guide me to fix these issues.

The issue is on all the sites that I use.

The file manager can’t open any folder but if I right-click and open in new tab then the tab opens, but double-click or “open” doesn’t work. Even the left side navigation bar doesn’t load.

I currently run my WordPress site on an nginx server that does not provide .htaccess support, or me customizing the nginx config file. Will this plugin still work knowing that limitation?

when i try to edit the wp-config file with the code editor, i get this error when saving: Unable to connect to backend. Backend not found. HTTP error 404

it used to work, but suddenly stopped. not sure what changed.

Trying to integrate with Google Drive and I get the error “Invalid backend response. Error occurred on the server side. HTTP error 500”.

My client ID & Secret and Auth token all appear correctly on the Google Drive integration tab. Google says my API is published and enabled.

Has anyone has this problem? Is the plugin broken?

Hello. I just bought the PRO version of this plugin after testing out the free version and reading that you can create specific user rules. That was what I was looking for so I decided to buy. But when I got access to the Settings by having the PRO version, I realized that I need to manually set the folder to each user. This is VERY cumbersome and basically disables the functionality I was trying to create for my business.

I want a dedicated folder automatically created for each new user, so each client and professional get access only to that specific folder. As it currently works, every user can see what other users uploaded if not manually configured for each one, which is unreasonable my business.

Is this possible to configure it like this at the moment? If not, may I request a refund? Thank you.
