]]>Hello,
I think my version might be 3.49. I am not sure.
I have been muddling through this for four days. I think I have made great progress so far, but when I look at fanfic.me, I feel disheartened.
I wanted a drop down menu, but I can barely get the menu to work.
When I tried to tweak it, I lost my search page. My search page that I had before, went nowhere.
How do I change my font, so it is contemporary like fanfic.me? All of my dialogue boxes are small. How do I make them bigger like fanfic.me?
My themes either won’t allow my stories to post or they won’t show my donate and advertising button. I have tried Just Write, Just Content, 20-15, 20-13, and 20-14. They all seem incompatible with my buttons.
Can you provide an email? I will send you my log in.
I would delete the whole thing and start over, but I don’t remember all the steps it took to get this far.

]]>We will have a 100% new writing community plugin – for fanfiction, education, recipes, graphic novels, ANYTHING – coming in January.
The last plugin was well intentioned but poorly developed by several different developers. With this new one, we’re in a completely different atmosphere, far beyond where we were.
It will be free and here in the repository.
As it is a completely different different plugin – written by a rockstar WP developer – we will be renaming it. Find out more at https://wpwriteshare.com/

]]>So there are quite a few bugs I’m coming across, but possible the ones most detrimental to working have to do with screen displays.
Generally, on the Post page, you can arrange widgets on the post page to display in a manner that lets you work more easily. However, on the Fanfiction posting page (admin backend), you cannot rearrange these widgets at all.
If you select a 2-column layout, you can only have 1 widget in the right, and none of the widgets ever stay where you put them if you leave. I attempted to rearrange everything nicely, managed to even get several widgets on the right at first, but when I navigated away, it was all back to all of the widgets clumped at the bottom, with no way to save the widget conformation.
In addition, on the Fanfiction general display page (when you click ‘Fanfiction’ to list all of the entries on the backend), the screen options are just a bunch of check boxes with no labels.
This is really aggravating and makes it next to impossible for me to edit stories easily. Please advise.

]]>I downloaded the WP FFWA Basic plug-in because I want users to be able to post stories, including chaptered stories, on my site and for it all to be easily searchable. This seemed the best (only?) plug-in for that. Unfortunately, its appearance is terrible, and I don’t have the knowledge/skills to fix it.
I am using the Kleo theme.
The problems:
I read the installation instructions for the plugin and changed the CSS code stuff as instructed. I also read this topic and played around with changing the alignment from left to right and changing the percentage number.
What I’ve tried/results
What I want
Am I missing some sort of padding settings I could change? I have played around with various spots in the CSS box that say padding, but it doesn’t make a difference to the story page.
Here are a couple of screenshots showing what I’m talking about.
https://tinypic.com/r/n15u6e/8 (This doesn’t really do justice to the left-side-text-smushing issue…That black box at the edge of the image would be where the edge of the screen/monitor is.)
https://tinypic.com/r/v4v1g4/8 The black screen that results from not having a sidebar set on the site at all or from changing the theme’s default layout away from full width.
I have no prior CSS/web-building experience, so I still have a lot to learn. Please be patient with me.

]]>I’ve just installed this plugin on a test site to try it out, and noticed a problem immediately. The plugin overrides the normal style sheets for the WordPress admin options, and one effect of that is that when you hover over the main admin options like Pages, Plugins, Users, Comments, etc. the submenus that open are unreadable, because you get extremely light-colored text on an extremely light-colored background.

]]>Hello,
I am setting up a fanfiction website and for some reason, there is a list of page links for every webpage on my website being displayed at the bottom of the stories that have been posted. Is there a way I can take page links out so they stop displaying like that? Its very tacky to be reading a story and when you reach the bottom there is an entire list of active links being displayed at the bottom of the page. This has the pages being longer than necessary and I would like to know of a way to hide those page links.
Any answer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

]]>Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to hide story information from the public?
I want only the story text to be viewable but nothing else (title, genre, characters, fandom information).
In addition, how do you have the navigation bar visible on all pages?
Here’s an example of another wordpress fanfiction site: https://thisunrulyheart.com/the-new-doctor/

]]>Sorry, know this is the second post but have been uploading a few of my stories one has a single chapter of over 9000 words (as many of them tend to) and it goes over multiple pages which is hugely un-friendly to people who are reading on mobiles and tablets just wanting to scan down the page – can this be over-ridden at all? If not I will have to look for an alternative because less than 500 words a page and a single chapter taking up 15 button depresses is a little unwieldy.
I previously used eFiction and came to this because I thought with the support it would be easier, but this is proving rather more complex and I maintain websites for a living.

Anyway, due to large lists of characters in different fandoms the lists to upload are incredibly unfriendly – any ways to sort this and have it so that when I select a fandom only the characters from that one show up on the list?

]]>Sorry to ask an obvious question, but before I spend money on a plugin, I’d like to know it works with my version. The database shows as untested with 4.0.
This looks like it will do exactly what I’ve been trying to do on another CMS but with a lot less hassle, so I’m excited.
BUT — does it work on 4.0 MU? I’m currently looking to use it on 1 site only, but I have other (very different) sites on the same network.
The license is for 1 site, right? So if I later wanted to use it on another site on the same network, would I need to purchase a new license? Or would it work on both?
Thanks for your hard work!
