This is a not updated plugins. I tried it with WordPress 5.6.1. The plugin generated too long excerpts including the tags of WP Bakery visual composer.
Luckily I had made a backup of the database!

Site I was building needed excerpts. I generated them… I deleted a few. Tried to save new ACF content… nothing saves anymore. Everything is broken. Have to redo hours of work.

Excerpt generation is totally bugged now, can’t delete the bugged excerpts the plugin has generated, etc.

All it does is adding a <br/> in the excerpt field. Doesn’t work. Waste of time.

Although WordPress knows generate excerpts with some of its functions, this plugin is much better and really helps get the result we want.
I love the fact that we can keep the HTML code and manage the created excerpts.

Needed a solution where I work to maintain hyperlinks in post excerpts. I took a stab at updating our theme to adjust filters. Then I discovered you would need to be concerned with losing closing tags in an excerpt. This plugin solved the problem. The partial setting for Keeping HTML in an excerpt includes the A HREF tag. So this plugin can be used instead of having to modify the theme. Love it!
