Install, find under “Tools > Dummy Posts”, click “Build Categories”, refresh the page, then click “Generate Posts”. View the posts on the “Posts” page or on your blog. Done!
User interface could use some work, I see how it’s confusing for some.

I wanted to generate some posts so I could test pagination and some functionality for a “top X views” for a new theme. This plugin worked perfectly.
1. The titles are random bits of lorem ipsum.
2. The content of posts are random lorem ipsum, bulletted lists, links, bold text, italics, and underlines.
3. Post content has random images from placehold.it
4. You can generate categories in a simple interface (for some reason, these aren’t generated randomly)
5. When adding posts, you add a number of posts to each category.
6. You can delete all posts using a button – might be handy if you are testing a large amount of posts.
7. When you are done, just get rid of the plugin.
Overall, it’s much more thorough than I expected. I was just expecting a number box that says “generate X posts”. This has many more bells and whistles!

I use this to generate random posts and it works excellent.
I don’t quite understand how to build categories though, whether I have to use single space or else, but I don’t need this functionality currently so it’s ok.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in […] /wp-content/plugins/wp-dummy-post-generator/wp-dummy-post-generator.php on line 376
Any idea ?

Great plugin! Works well. I have 2 complaints:
1) The posts have no <!–more–> tag
2) “Delete all existing posts” should only delete the ones made by this plugin, not ALL the posts. ?? Maybe you can save which ones they are with a postmeta? And there should be a confirmation dialog for the delete.

After adding 10 dummy posts into 10 dummy categories it looked good until I visited my front page and noticed I couldn’t click on the new generated posts.
Each link in my sidebar for example(recent posts) all linked to my frontpage domain name.
I had to uninstall…SMH.

A little lengthier titles would be nice like four or five words. The posts generated by the plugin are a bit too lengthy. I assume since most people would want to use it to test themes or plugins so they would probably like smaller posts like around 300-500 words.
Also it would be great if the text is properly formatted and has paragraphs at regular intervals. The text does not look very good without line breaks or paragraphs.
