Wordfence qualifies this plugin as critically vulnerable. When will there be an update?

]]>I’m a pretty code ignorant. I recently updated a blog from 2016 and I would life to be able to display categories as a clickable link. Either by only showing the top level category or just making them clickable with children.
I’ve tried to figure it out myself but all I’m doing in banging my head against a brick wall at this point.
]]>Hello
Has anyone tested the plugin with PHP 8.0? I would appreciate an update there since 7.4 is out of support in november. Anyway still a great plugin!
Hi Ulf, I installed your great plugin a few days ago onto my new homepage bechele.de – really helpful – nice and easy to handle !
The Version is Version 4.4.5
When I went into the widget setup of the widget (WP-dTreePages) I added to the primary sidebar and I unchecked >Set “Child of” to active page< it reacted, but after saving, the check hook there came back, means my dtree often was not fully visible, only the subpages. Other settings I could save. I noticed that “Show the parents of selected children too” also does not save.
So I wet in your code and changed Line 24 in wp-dtree-pge-widget.php
from:
24: $settings[‘child_of_current’] = isset($new_settings[‘child_of_current’]) ? 1 : 0;
to
24: $settings[‘child_of_current’] = 0;
This switched on to always show the complete tree.
I am fully aware, that this is a quick and dirty hack, but at least is does now what I need.
Not sure if this is a general problem or if it is only applying to my site.
Perhaps you want to have a look into it.
Kind regards,
Rolf
]]>Hello,
I use wp-dtree on my website for a long time.
Since a few times (upgrade to wp5.9 ? or something else), the 2 widgets i use, Categories and Archives, don’t display correctly in the sidebar anymore.
They are rejected below the footer.
I’ve tried to changed the theme, the problem is the same. So i think the problem is in the plugin.
Stange thing: When i’m in the Personalize view of the theme, the widgets display correctly in the sidebar.

Thanks
Hi!
Not displayed when added in new widget editor
Screenshot:
The problem is not only with the “Twenty Fifteen” theme, with other themes the same problem.
]]>Hello! ulfben,
The plugin is excellent. Thanks for your development. But it seems that it only can show in sidebar on post or page. Could it support showing in the sidebar of category? Besides, When I open a category, can it only show the subcategories of current category?
Best regards,
Yoshua
not sure if this refers to the deprecation of the plugin or some part of the code for the plugin or if it relates to the PHP v8 installation I am running, but wanted to raise it and ask what I need to do to fix it or request if you could. Thanks.
]]>Hi,
I have a problem with tree-category. If I change settings in the customizer and save them, then everything goes correctly. However, if I change and save the settings in the widgets area, then the settings are not saved.
Greetings

I love this plugin and I really want to use this because there are no other plugins like this.
but I keep meeting errors now, not before, and I tried at several webhosting company.
then two of them made errors, and one worked right.
I checked the difference among them.
then I guess the php version affects that problem.
one webhosting company at which this plugin worked right played php7.3.
but the other 2 companies at which the wp-dtree didn’t work used php7.4
Well.. I need the company using php7.4.
I’m not sure if this is just php version problem.
maybe other problem.
wordpress version was all the same, as 5.8.
Thank you for your great plugin and I just look forword to a good solution.
]]>Let me start by saying that the plug is great.
There is only one thing missing from my happiness. The subcategories do not show up well.
If the titles are long, it cuts them off. In ccs I tried to change: white-space, but when it divides the titles, the next lines move to the left. I can’t set the margin correctly so that the next lines appear from the same place. Will you help?
For those of us who use this plugin with Elementor, you’re aware it covers the editor layer and so generally you want to design the widget and drop it in at the very end.
However, up until Elementor 3.2.1 you could still actively edit your page/template/whatever in Elementor with wp-dtree present. That is no longer the case – if you have this widget present in the Elementor editor, no changes to your page/template will display. You must remove the wp-dtree widget in order to continue editing. So you now must truly drop this widget in, as the very last step of building your layout.
Ideally it would be great if the plugin played nicely with Elementor’s editor and didn’t take over the browser, because there are so few actual *good* category plugins in existence.
So this is just a heads-up to users of both plugins.
]]>Months always appear in english, it does not take into account the site language.
Is there any way to show the months according to the site language?
Thanks!
]]>This is one of the plugins where it does what it needs to do, does it well, and I don’t expect major changes, I don’t expect it to ever play nice with Elementor, and I don’t expect it to receive new features since it does what it was meant to do.
This is a very useful plugin! Please check in and verify this has been tested with recent WordPress versions, so it no longer gets classified as abandoned or is potentially removed from the plugin repo.
]]>Hi
I love this plugin. I was able to do the line wrapping with the code:
div.dtree {
white-space: normal !important;
}
However when I want to wrap a line it starts all from the left side. I would love to indent the text to match it with the same level as the line above. Anybody has a solution?
example
best regards
I have happily been using WP-dTree for many years but I fear I now have reached the limit for the number of pages to be handled. Some sub-pages will not show and I remember I had that problem some years ago. The solution then was to increase the limit for the number of pages. So I did and everything was ok. The problem now is that I cant’t find the notes on how to do it. Can anyone help a forgetful man?
]]>I see a resolved a topic for the same issue. I arrived at this forum due to experiencing this issue myself.
The issue only happens when affacting a change to the widget within the elementor editor. Once the page updates, the widget covers the entire canvas.
My workaround is the following:
1. Make a separate page dedicated to editing the WP-dTree widget
2. Make all of your edits until you are ready to bring it into the original page you were working on
3. Copy and Paste the widget between pages in Elementor, into the spot it was intended to go
You may run into the visual issue again, but at this point you should be able to publish and see your changes. Repeat the process as needed to tweak your design.
]]>Hi,
this plugin looks like what I was looking for, but I can’t figure out, how to fine-tune it.
I like to output a tree of categories starting with a certain ancestor. When I look at all the options it offers, I’m uncertain what to put where.
Once one clicks a category, I like to list the posts tagged with that category.
Is this the right plugin for this purpose or is there a better one?
Thanks in advance,
Frank
greate plugin but Unfortunetly, doesn’t support custom post type,
more than 10+user asked about that on support forum
Hello – I hope that the message makes sense.
I really like this plugin. I discovered it at https://owl.excelsior.edu
Now. When I click on a link, I am taken to the appropriate page and the link is highlighted (with an underline). HOWEVER, if I access a page by some other means, e.g. by copying the page’s URL into the browser, I am taken to the page but the menu is not updated.
I wonder if there is a setting to make the correct highlighting happen without writing any code. I say this because the version of the menu used in the excelsior URL listed above does update automatically.
I would be grateful for your advice. Thank you very much.
Andrew Lian
Hello,
I am attempting to display different trees in the sidebar based on the current post’s category. I have tried using the visibility options built into JetPack, as well as several widget visibility plugins. No matter what, all of the trees display, even if they are set to be hidden on the current page. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Hello
i′m really happy with WP-dTree but in some cases i′m missing a feature:
A “WP-dTree Posts Widget”, with the option to use custom posttypes!
So that′s just a suggestion to push WP-dTree to be a perfect plugin ??
best regards
Andre
Is it any chance to allow to selection of multiple custom post types?
]]>hi! i’m using this plugin and helps me with lot of things. but our company decided to use elementor for the page builder platform. now, when I use WP-dTree, it covers the entire editor page.
]]>Dear WP-dtree developers,
Thank you so much for your great work which made our life much easier. I really enjoy this feature. However, in my menu I need each sub-menu to have an icon which can be different from others or I want to use emojis but the current version filters all the html tags. I feel this can be of the general interest as well. Would you please kindly comment on how to implement such changes?
Thank you in advance
]]>My plan is using three plugins on my video based Website:
*Mojo slide panel as a sliding menu – ref
*Wonderplugin lightbox for display video on the lightbox – ref
I make custom menu on wordpress with video url inside the menu items and “class”= “wplightbox” on the XFN field.
Any video url with class : wplightbox should be opened on the lightbox.
“WP Dtree” is for making playlist tree menu like folder Explorer – ref
I put WP-Dtree menu widget inside the mojo slide panel.
Problem:
Seem like “Widget menu WP Dtree” doesn’t recognize “class : wplightbox” from wonderplugin lightbox.
Is there any way to make WP Dtree recognise the “class”=wplightbox by wonderplugin lightbox?
