We did a lot of research into the right plugin for this task, but there are some features you assume a pluign can just do.
Like having a car. You assume it has a speedo, or that you can move the side mirrors. You never ask that. So we never asked the question: Can we as Manager of the Download Manager, see on a screen, what someone can view in their downloads?
There is one way to do it, but if you have 200, 300, 3000 clients, their fix is, to create a page for EACH client…. that’s their answer.
There is no list of users, on which you can click one, and view all their downloads.
For a premium product, this is a staggering flaw.
So let’s say you run a health and safety business, and each client gets their safety reports.
You have no means to find out, if Company A was sent their document in their uploads.
I mean, there is one way, but open to flaw yourself. By naming the Download document package correctly. But surely a list of users, you click the user and view all their downloads.
Why is that not in the system already???

NOT ONLY THAT THEY DID NOT REFUND THE MONEY THAT THEY WERE LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO DO DURING 14DAYS PERIOD AFTER PURCHASING, AFTER THEIR PLUGINS HAD PROBLEMS TO FUNCTION, THEY asked for logins to fix it and they messed the whole website up. Will never do business again with them they just take your money and run away, Plugins are coded by idiots, it’s impossible to combine it to modern plugins or themes, they keep telling you to buy more plugins to make it work as it should. Seriously stay away from them.

Lightweight plugin that does exactly what it says. Shortcodes and Templates are very customisable. Remember to create a folder and upload your files via FTP first, then update Permalinks. After that works perfectly.

I try to “Add A File”, it claims to upload it, but it doesn’t, even there is not created intended folder for the file.
Also File Name is not automatically determined from uploaded file.
So unfortunately, this plugin doesn’t work at all for me.

No instructions anywhere on how to implement, all you read is id here and id there, so confusing. Tried support, nothing, stay clear and don’t download.

The purchase terms state that there will be a renewal email reminder to cancel the auto-renewal. No renewal notification was sent and the renewal amount was charged automatically with no refund process and no customer support.

This is such a frickin amazing plugin. I’ve created a pressroom and wanted people to be able to download images and press releases. With this plugin, I can see that activity and require them to agree to terms and conditions and use captcha. You also have option to password protect. But I’m not using that feature.
Works like a charm. The only reason why there are not over 100,000 downloads of this is because people don’t know about it.

The file size displayed at the file download page of the front page of the website is unknown.
Why can’t it automatically detect the size of the uploaded file, and the location of the background customization file size manually will prompt an error Can’t save the changes?

I like the plugin for it’s simplicity. But i do have 2 major complaints that explain why I give a 3 stars rating.
1) The way you implmented the categories is bad. There will be a issue if I switch the order of the categories. I had to change it by myself and add a Category table in my MySQL database.
2)Speaking of database, the way you insert, modify or delete records on the DB isn’t protected against SQL injection. Again I had to change if for a safer code.

I am using this since 2009 and its really awesome to use it. Its seriously so easy and love to embed the files. Also I create best templates for my sites. I wish you best of luck for these kind of plugins you made.
