This plugin does exactly what it promises, smooth and problem free.

On my site I like to show a different hero graphic on each page, reflecting the specific contents of that page. The theme I’m using doesn’t allow me to choose different header images. It uses the same on all pages. I tried a lot of plugins but this one was the only one that truly did the job. I found a couple of issues eg a header image is available for selection but when I select it, the page shows the default header instead. I was able to “fix” these issues but deleting the header images and re-uploading them.
Would love to see an option to randomly pick headers based on categories. Eg, I’d like one page to display a header picked from “Category A” and another page show a header from “Category B”, with the headers randomly picked from each respective category when pages are loaded.

One of the best plugins for this job. Integrates perfectly in WordPress and it looks that it belongs there. (and probably should).

WP Display Header works with the standard header_image(); system. As of 5.0.3, UPLOADING header images seems a bit inconsistent, as it does not seem you can do that while editing a page, but otherwise works well.

I’ve looked through lots of postings and articles to find a way to have custom headers and this plugin does just that. I’m using WP 4.9.5 and theme Twenty Seventeen and no problems. Thanks.

Initially, I thought this was yet another plugin featured in the plugin directory for WordPress.com doesn’t actually work there. As it turns out, it works perfectly but you have to edit your pages through the legacy wp-admin console, not the main editor. It works great – you just select “none” for the header image and voila!

This plugin is not compatible with WP version 4.8.1.

I love this! I have been looking for a simple plugin to control the header image on different pages. Easy to use and understand right from the start. I highly recommend this ??

The theme I was playing with didn’t have the ability to choose custom headers for each post or page. This plugin gave me that functionality without having to edit any templates.
It would be even better if it automatically added the “featured image” as a header instead of manually needing to upload and select the image for each page … but even so, this is a really useful plugin and one I’ve appreciated finding. Thank you.

I know this might sound obvious, but it took me a while to figure this out… I was stuck at first because I only had 1 image set as a header. To fix this, go to Appearance > Header > and add more images. Then it works like it should.

The plugin works, but it adds the functionality all over the backend in the most crazy places that I can’t control whether I want it to show up or not. As the backend of my Worpdress websites are designed for my clients, who usually know nothing about web design, I need to keep the backend as uncomplicated and easy to use as possible. As a result, I have stopped using this plugin and have found a much neater way to do it with custom fields.
Let me know if you ever come up with a way to control visibility of this plugin through the website backend.

I’m rather new to WP but been using 20-12 theme for several years; just the tough writing of several websites with no worry about appearance because 20-12 was fine for me as a beginner.
But I soon became frustrated that I could not change header images and recently started investigating how to do that. The forums suggested I check out Header Image plugins and saw that this one had good ratings and many downloads. A little nervous, I tried it first on a new site with little invested.
Works great. A simple download. Then I could quickly choose “no header image” and then in 20-12 I just use “Set Featured Image” which is part of that theme, select the image I want to place in the header and that image replaces the default image. The default image was the image I selected for the theme home page and it appears on every page unless you replace it somehow. But the “Set Feature” Image does not work in 20-12 apparently due to a clich?
Regardless, this does the job as I described and allows no image or whatever image you want. And the new image appears where you want it, above the page name such that it is truly just below the Menu.
Apparently you need to have the image the size you want it and place it in your media library. Not sure how that works but this has gotten my faith back in using twenty-twelve because I’m too new to be switching themes right now.

Easy setup and does the job.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Love it!! Great for my clients to be able to change as opposed to complex coding.

Works as advertised, even with WP 4.0RC.

This plugin does exactly what it says it will – it allows you to change the header for each page or post, as you wish.
It was easy to install and I have gone through WordPress updates with it and it has worked perfectly.
I would definitely recommend this plugin to others.

Doesn’t work for PageLines framework 2.2.5 theme, unfortunately, I hope to find a solution by my own any comment to find an issue will be welcomed. Otherwise I will try to make an animation. This theme is responsive that’s why it’s a bit more complicate than usual… Thanks for you work anyway, I think it’s really a must have feature.

Great plug-in! Simple to use and best of all it builds on the theme’s framework without adding any unnecessary code.

Works great with twenty twelve.
Would be awesome if it could enable headers of different heights – the standard header is so giant at 250 pixels high.

I’ve used this plugin on a couple of different client sites. It does a great job and is very easy to set up and use. If you need to rotate header images at random or assign a specific header image to a specific page, this plugin is for you!
